I've installed the latest drivers for each. When I try to play a game I get the error stated in the thread title. I have also tried deleting and reinstalling the drivers. I've looked on several forums for this error message and possible solutions.

Was the message i got when i tried to play my freshly installed age of empires II game (with expansion). i have cruised the internet for solutions for my computer, i have re-installed game, done the whole compatibility pack stuff (including disabling themes and 256 colors stuff). i have updated driver and adapter, turned off adapter, changed screen size, done off with aero pointers and what not and i have run as administrator the whole time. i have also updated direct draw and ran dxdiag.exe thing, here it is[CODE]

- I've tried to right click the shortcut and change the compatability to XP server pack 2, run as administrator, updated my graphics card drivers and downloaded the latest directX 11 from the Microsoft Website.
Just upgraded from Vista Business 32bit to Win 7 Pro 32 bit AOE working fine before upgrade but now error shown as:"Could not initialize graphics system. Make sure that your video card and driver are compatible with DirectDraw"I've checked the drivers are the latest. Directx is ver 11. DirectDraw enabled. Video card is ATI Radeon HD 3650 with latest driver.Tried compatibility modes, disabling Aero, re-install AOE, XP virtual mode. Nothing works.

I am deathly afraid to turn off my computer because my brother recently did and that caused it to freeze at the blue HP startup screen, but thats another thread. I get this error whenever I launch anything. I can't even open up the task manager. I really need help. I don't currently have a way to back up my stuff either but I am working on it. By the way, I don't know that my brother was having the same error message as i was or if he was having any error messages. I use zone alarm full security suite if that helps at all, I don't know if it deleted a registry file or something.

View 4 Replies View RelatedOne of the hard disks suddenly failed to initialized. The first problem I found on this disk was unable to open one of the zip files then the machine crashed. After I restarted the machine the HDD drive was missing from the Computer. My computer has 6 hard drives including the missing one. One is Corsair SSD for the OS and the rest are Samsung, Hitachi and WD all of them are 1TB. When I checked on the Device Manager the Drive is there and the device status is properly working. I checked on the Disk Management and I got a message to Initialize the Disk then I followed the instruction. Again I got an error message " Virtual Disk Manager - The system cannot find the file specified." On the Disk Management windows the status of the Disk is "Unknown 931.51GB Not Initialized- Unallocated". I tried to initialize but the same error I got. I did not name this drive but it named automatically RV 01 and the Location is 0.I use Acronis Disk Director to fix the problem but it cannot change the status to online. What I did last week was I installed some programs to the Drive X instead of Drive C.My computer OS is Windows 7 64bits all the drivers and software are updated.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI just built myself a new computer, and it turned out that the dual ram channel on the motherboard was faulty. I ordered a new motherboard and RMA'd the faulty board. When I installed the new motherboard, I received an error when trying to login to my old account: User group client failed the logon. Access denied.I am then returned to the login screen. Rebooting in safe mode didn't caused the system to hang a few times, but eventually brought me to the login screen, and I was able to get to the desktop and create a new user profile, and deleted the password from my old profile. Rebooted again and now I have access to the new admin account, but still get the error when trying to access my old profile. I did some research and people suggested changing the registry value GUID to GUID1 in the Windows NT/Profile List for the bad profile, but there is no "GUID" value under that profile.Windows restore doesn't find any restore points which is strange, because I made several in the week before I installed the replacement board as I messed around with settings and configured the machine.Now, I have full access to my machine through the new profile and everything is working perfectly, but I'd really like to be able to get my old login working again. There's a lot of files scattered around, games with saves tied to that profile, the odd install that I let install without checking "all users" on, etc. I -could- potentially migrate all that *** onto the new profile, but it would take time, time that I'd rather spend either with my son, or being conquered by the Aztecs in Civ 5.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've posted on these forums about this problem before, it is one I've been truggling with for a long time.I run a game, and at some point during the game will freeze momentarily, minimize and I'll get the 'Graphics driver has failed and has recovered' error.Now, apart from the RAM and CPU, which both have been tested, every single component in my case has been replaced and tested thoroughly not just by me, but by the people in a computer store nearby who had been consulting me about the problem. They couldn't find any faults with the hardware and since it was a fresh installation of Windows 7, that didn't seem to be the problem either.Nevertheless, after a week of testing several different options they found nothing.
I've now installed a Windows XP dualboot and was surprised to see that the problem doesn't occur on XP.All hardware is completely Windows 7 approved.Does anyone have a clue as to what is causing this and how I might stop it from happening? It's a gaming rig that I invested quite a bit in, and it really feels like a waste having to stick with Dx9.
I have a rather strange issue. Yesterday I had to restart my machine due to Mozilla Thunderbird and Windows updates, however, when the box rebooted, my monitors displayed "No Signal". After a little troubleshooting and finding an old VGA cord, I figured out to hook it up to the on-board video card (the HDMI wouldn't work on it).Now for some reason the card isn't detected and when I use the disk to try and re-install the drivers, I just get a "No Drivers" message at the main menu. So it looks like my graphics card just went out. But wait! I also noticed (after much frustration) that when I tried to Hibernate the box, it didn't work. Now I have Hibernate set to my front power button, however, when I also try to do it from the start menu, Hibernate and Sleep are grayed out. Please help!!!To recap: After restart and Thunderbird/Windows updates, graphics card won't work along with losing the capability to sleep and hibernate the box.

Running the game off an SSD, not that that particularly should cause this problem, I imagine.
Game plays fine mostly, but three times now the game has frozen. On two occasions it froze in spot, sound still going, the screen went black, then redrew and played fine. One occasion it just stuck solid and I had to hard reset.I'm pretty sure all the main drivers are up to date, I sorted that out after the build. I thought maybe there was an issue last time as there were some surprise Windows updates after the crash and restart...but seemingly not."Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered." is what it says.
Ok so I recently moved from vista to windows 7 and everything is great except that about 40% of the time when I restart my computer, the mousepad and video card drivers don't load up. The mousepad stops responding and the resolution goes to 800x600. When I look in device manager those two drivers say they failed to initialize and need a restart, I will post the exact error messages soon. Then when I restart everything runs fine. But this consistently happens, I believe it happens everytime I install something new and then restart. I can't figure out how to stop this from happening, anyone know what to do?

We just had some very heavy rains with lightening and my computer shut down several times, but I could restart it each time...except for the last time when Windows wouldn't startup. I have Zone Alarm and Malwarebytes, and I turned them both off, but it still fails.If there is no quick fix for this I would at least like to lock in my system restore snapshot so it doesn't get overwritten by a new one.

I've been trying to troubleshoot my BSOD issues the last 2 months but I'm not sure what to do from here. During restart my computer will BSOD; sometimes restart 5~6 times will BSOD, sometimes 2000~3000 times not happen, always seemingly random but once happen ,next time will continuous BSOD. A few things I've already done:
Updated BIOS.
Scan virus (no virus)
It is windows 7 and runs very very smooth (since it's a gaming computer). Today i decided to watch Naruto shippuden so i searched it on google went to the link, found the video and clicked play. 5 seconds after i hit Play my computer shut off. The system automatically restarts and i Select run windows normally again it restarts and gives BSOD. I can run windows in Safe mode, and safe mode with networking. When it restarts i hit run windows normally, it runs everything is fine. The boom BSOD.

However, now when my computer starts up my desktop has reverted to some default desktop which is misssing a lot of my icons I had previously. Some of my shortcuts are still there, but most are missing.
I need to connect to a VPN in order to use my university's exchange email client.Does anybody know if I can define it to connect automatically when my system starts? As it is, I need to manually connect each time (which isn't that difficult, but I rather not having to do it).
