I installed TACO (anti-tracking addon) in Firefox.My menus and bookmarks became too small too read. Sometimes they would become normal or too large but moving the mouse/keyboard made it just too WAY too small.I did a bunch of stuff recommended by Mozilla to fix but in the end I uninstalled FF including all personal data and reinstalled. Same problem.
View 9 Repliesi'm having this problem lately with my burner it won't write, but when I burn a cd it burns fine. its a (tsstcorp cddvdw ts-L633c) i tried using cyberlink its burn for a while but after verifiying it...it fails and pop-out the dvd and there's no burn mark on the dvd. i also tried using this software nero and magiciso same problem it ejects the dvd. I also tried using different dvd, dvd-r and dvd+r nothings change same problem occurs... i tried uninstalling,update, delete the upper, burn it with the lowest speed, still it won't burn. i'm using window 7 home basic.

That's fine and dandy, but I'm having trouble with one particular CD that I saved....and I put the title in lower case.Now, all I really want to do is put it as it should be, in mixed....but I keep getting it updated and changed back again thanks to Windows Update (which is constant in terms of the library!)The CD is quite rare and so I'll be hard pressed to get it back to re-put it back on my computer.Sounds simple all I want in the work is for 3 words.It's a Queen album, "At The BBC" and it keeps changing back to "at the bbc" !

View 1 Replies View Relatedwhen I retag my mp3 files using VLC or songbird, I realize that I cannot edit them in Windows 7 anymore. I can access the menu to do it (right-click -> properties) but all the fields are blanked off such that opening it in VLC, the song name will show but in Windows 7's file explorer; it will not show it.
Is there any way to rectify this? I did try saving them over using Adobe Audition (the only software I have that can do it) but that is a bit time consuming.

I push my system hard, and have the hardware to handle it (for example, 24G memory.) From time to time, I'll have an enormous amount of windows open. Right now, I have about 100 chrome windows open, with multiple tabs on each. Once there are more windows open than Windows can display vertically on my 1050px height monitor, it shows an up arrow at the top of the list it can display, and a bottom arrow at the bottom of the list it can display. If I hover over either of these arrows, it scrolls at about 3-4 windows per second, which can take forever to scroll to the bottom of the list (which is where the most recently opened windows appear.)

Until approximately two days ago I could control scrolling in My Favorites, with ability to scan one folder or it's contents at a time. Now, unable to control this action, and after the last visible line, if I try to go further down, the scroller automatically starts over at the top. A similar problem occurs on several websites, but always occurs with Favorites in IE 8. When using Firefox, I can control the scrolling without any problem. I remember that this issue came up about a year ago, when many of us were trying to understand what was going on; unfortunately, I don't remember how it was fixed! I've reset, cleaned cat-hairs from, and changed battery in mouse - not the problem. Windows has added a ton of recent automatic updates and I think one of them is causing the problem. I can view a number of them, and see they are related to Win Office, but due to inability to scroll down any further, I can't view those which may be related to IE.

Then when I woke up today, I turned it on and BAM, could no longer read my SSD (Vertex 2) and would get a message telling me to insert my windows install disk.So I decided to humour it, and tried putting the disk in, checked the recovery options and was unable to find the SSD to perform recovery on. I carried on a few more steps to install a fresh copy and it wasn't listed there either.
I spent about a hour fiddling around with the hardware, swapping around wires and harddrives to check if it was the wires messing me about, turns out everything worked fine.I then reset my BIOS and then checked the boot settings, but my SSD wasn't even displayed on the list.So I was stumped.On the POST screen, when the SSD was not plugged in, nothing would show up in that slot, however when the SSD is plugged in it says 'None'(SSD currently plugged into C1 Master)
I am unable to read CD-R on Word 2010 using Windows 7. When I insert a CD I either get the message Internet Not Responding or the screen fades out and I have to exit because it won't do anything.

Then tried plugging this drive using a USB connector into my desktop PC to see if I could run some chkdsk. Then my desktop PC displayed messages telling me my firewall and virus software had been turned off and the computer crashed. ROOTKIT? So I was left with 2 drives not working. I re installed windows on desktop but using ISO on flash drive BUT can't on the 500GB Hitachi HTS545050B9SA00 for some reason. Windows setup loaded and Deleted old partitions and formatted. When I tried to install, it froze. It now just boots up with a windows loading screen and I'm also unable to boot from flash drive as it freezes. This is on a Sony Vaio VPCEB4E4E.

Having encountered the XP version recently and resolved the issue, I was able to easily remove the virus and associated rootkit. The difference this time was that unhide.exe failed to restore the start>all programs menu shortcuts, although it did manage to restore the folder structure. From what I can see, this seems to be a fairly common problem across computers...My Dell Inspiron n5010 (Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit) sporadically won't read DVDs. A couple of nights ago, it took a couple of tries - last night, I couldn't get it play one at all.Having looked for various fixes, I have tried the following:-Updating drivers-Disabling and re-enabling the drive in device manager-Going into the registry to remove recommended entries (high/low filters i think? I only had the "high" option, which apparently means that fix isn't for me...)-Uninstalling any DVD-burning software that may be interfering with my laptop's own DVD player/software.
