Since my new comp has been built, about a month ago, every now and then when I power up the computer it fails to display anything on my monitor. I look into the case and see that the red VGA LED is lit up on the motherboard. Whenever this happens, I take my GPU out and reinsert it, close up the case, power up and it works again.
Motherboard is Asus P8P67 Pro B3 Rev
GPU is Gigabyte Nvidia GeForce GTX 570 SO

I was attempting to edit authui.dll, when I restarted my computer I got a totally black screen. Now everyone seems to have a hard time understanding this. When I start my computer up I get a black screen, no matter if it's a normal started up or in safe mode. I'm totally unable to login or do anything, the screen turns black before anything comes up.

My monitor is an HP S2031. The computer is a Compac Presario CQ5814 PC, Processor is an AMD Dual Core Processor E-350. Running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit. Bought in 2011. Running Chrome Browser most of the time. Shockwave crashes on me quite often but seems to "fix" itself. This had happened shortly before the monitor turned red. I had turned off the computer and when it was turned back on the screen was red. I restarted it a couple of times and it finally returned to normal.
I have been experiencing some freezes with my windows 7 ultimate, basically the mouse and the keyboard freeze and I have to manually shut down the PC, it only happen when I'm at windows or when the screen is automatically turned off, the strange thing is that when I'm gaming it never freeze, actually I played BF3 yesterday around 3 hours with max settings and it didn't happen. I don't know if this is related but I've noticed that firefox is been running slow compared to the past (after I moved to the 280.26 driver and now to the 285.62) and there was a java application opened when the freezes occurred (jdownloader). The hardware is all brand new except by the D hd drive (windows is installed in the other one) which had some kind of problem, here are my specs:

i recently got an update from microsoft on win 7, and immediately after it had finished updating i had no sound in any application (aim, skype, chrome, firefox, Internet, etc.). this has happened before, and i ran microsoft's sound problems wizard and it always said that an option had been clicked off and that it had restored it.this time when i ran the wizard it says it detects no problems. i am sure it is the software, as it happens a lot with ms updates. will downloadi can't go back to a previous configuration, i don't have one to go to
I have a Samsung RF-711. Recently, whenever I shut down and boot later or when I shut the lid and boot later, it freezes. When I just shut the lid and hibernate, it freezes as soon as it is opened and must be reset by holding down the power. When it is shut down and rebooted it takes an extremely long time to restart.
Just wondering, is there a way so that if for example, I have a video folder that is being shared on the network, to continue being shared, even if the computer is turned off? I want to be able to share my files 24/7 but I dont want to keep the computer running all the time. Is there a way to share while in a very low power state?
I can't enable wake on lan on my computer. First I tried with an on board LAN cart then I added external cart - Intel(R) PRO/1000 GT.In the device manager I checked "Allow this device to wake up the computer" and "Only allow a magic packed to wake up the computer" for the network adapter. In BIOS I enabled the PME Event Wake up property. On my machine I installed a Magic Packect sender/receiver to check whather the packets can reach the computer and I see that the packets are received when I send them from my phone. But when the computer is turned off I can't wake it this way. Also there's light from my LAN cart, so I assume that is has power from the mainboard when the computer is turned off. My mainboard is Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3 and the operating system is Windows 7 32bit.
When I turn on my laptop the wireless connection is disabled. I have to go through the trouble shoot function to enable the wireless connection. When I turn the laptop off, the wireless connection becomes disabled.
my computer turned off while doing a system update when I turned it back on there was an error with a hibernation file now it wont load past the starting windows screen I've tried a system restore and system repair.
I've got a problem with my laptop - it won't sleep. Specifically, when I try and make it sleep, the screen turns off and I cannot interact with it at all - but the computer just keeps going. All the activity lights stay on, and while I can't see or do anything, the computer stays on and will not sleep, leaving me with no choice but to manually force shutdown. Sometimes if I leave it like this for a while, it will simply crash and shut down incorrectly. I have gone into the power-plan settings and checked my advanced settings, but that hasn't worked. It's just come on in the last few days, but I haven't installed anything new in that time. I'm going to try a system restore now, but I don't hold much hope for it.
(I'm using a Samsung R530, 32-bit Windows 7, Intel Pentium.)
Is there a way in Windows 7 to track when a computer is turned on and off? A log for the week would be great but I want to see each weekday when the computer is turned on and when it is turned off?
I have been having problems logging on to my computer and the Internet, accessing files etc. for some time now, recently whenever I turn on the computer I get the message cannot find disk? I am not sure what category I should post tohats going on? And if possible how to fix it. I did do a scan about a week ago and was told the there was a program installed on my computer to allow remote access, which I have since cleaned out and reinstalled windows 7.[CODE]
I have just been given a Fujitsu Lifebook S6540 running windows 7 and on the whole it is fine but it is eating the battery when switched off. Research on the internet has shown that the computer, although seeming to shut down may still be running in the background. I have therefore been into the registry and changed the powerdown after shutdown code to 1 rather than 0 which should ensure a complete shut down. I duly did this and let the computer charge up before shutting down and then left it for a day.It did not make a shred of difference and found half the battery had been use
How do you unlock a computer (Windows 7 Enterprise) that has been locked by the previous user and "Fast User Switching" has been turned off? A little more details:The desktop reads, "Press Ctrl, Alt, Delete to unlock this computer" and below that its displays the user who is currently logged in and locked the computer. When you do press Ctrl, Alt, Delete to unlock the computer you are presented with an icon of the user account, the user's domainusername and a button labeled "Cancel."There is also the button in the lower right corner for "Ease of Access." In this situation, how do you unlock that user account or log that user off?
I just installed Windows 7 Home Premium on my sister's laptop, and when I was completing the first updates (like 100 of them), the computer gave me blue screen. I turned the computer back on and the internet wouldn't work at all! I reinstalled windows 7 again, and this time I didn't do any updates. I went to the device manager and selected the Atheros AR5007 driver and selected "update". Halfway through, the computer gave me BSOD. I rolled back the driver to previous version and all works well now.
When I switch on the computer, on the monitor, I just see the start window and green dots running, then the monitor screen went black and say 'no signal', I can't even switch off the computer unless holding the switch button for a while.
