Updating Windows 7 - Computer Turned Off Due To Power Failure / Showing Fatal Error
Apr 24, 2011
I was updating my window suddenly it shut off due to power failure but problem is that now my computer is not booting and showing a fatal error. Now tell me what I have to do. I am using Acer Aspire (5738G) window 7 ultimate 32-bit.
Last night, i noticed i had low memory on my C drive. so I uninstalled a few programs - games mostly and needless addons - and then restarted. After restarting, the laptop got stuck at the bootup screen, at about 70%, then persisted to say "operating system not found" repeatedly.
This morning, after turning it on, it now gets past this screen, but says theres a "SMART failure predicted" on on my Hard drive. It also says ahard drive fail;ure is imminent. It does this for a few minutes, and then gets 'stuck' again at 70% at startup.
So.. is this a problem with my HDD? Everything points to this, but I'm not sure of my next step? Do i need to reinstall windows (problem, seeing as i don't have an installation disc)
Just wondering, is there a way so that if for example, I have a video folder that is being shared on the network, to continue being shared, even if the computer is turned off? I want to be able to share my files 24/7 but I dont want to keep the computer running all the time. Is there a way to share while in a very low power state?
Since my new comp has been built, about a month ago, every now and then when I power up the computer it fails to display anything on my monitor. I look into the case and see that the red VGA LED is lit up on the motherboard. Whenever this happens, I take my GPU out and reinsert it, close up the case, power up and it works again.
Motherboard is Asus P8P67 Pro B3 Rev GPU is Gigabyte Nvidia GeForce GTX 570 SO
I have just been given a Fujitsu Lifebook S6540 running windows 7 and on the whole it is fine but it is eating the battery when switched off. Research on the internet has shown that the computer, although seeming to shut down may still be running in the background. I have therefore been into the registry and changed the powerdown after shutdown code to 1 rather than 0 which should ensure a complete shut down. I duly did this and let the computer charge up before shutting down and then left it for a day.It did not make a shred of difference and found half the battery had been use
I have an HP All-in-One Pvilion desktop and it has been returned on more than one occasion. When I turn the computer on, the date is 2008. What can I do to halt this?
Windows 7 hang on shutting down and shows Driver Power failure error. My very recently purchased laptop hp dv6 was showing some problems. It would get stuck at the shutdown screen and then after extended span of time I had to press and hold power key to turn it off.It doesnt happen everytime i shut down but sometimes it stucks on Windows 7 shutting down screen and displays this error on blue screen after period of time.
Just recently my computer will not start up! This is all it says "Fatal error C0190003 applying update operation 1802 of 125622 (package...)." It just stays frozen I have to hit the power button to restart. I also tried running it in save mode and it too stops responding, this is all i see

And nothing. Does not respond.
Why doesn't my computer boot up after power failure? The bios is set to boot after power failure. I have to jump start the motherboard to get it to boot. What causes this to happen? Is it a power surge? I can unplug and plug the computer back in and have no problem booting. If I have a power failure, no Boot. The last power failure was a sudden off no "on-Off" fluctuations. I want an explantion so I can prevent it from happening. Is a UPC the only solution?
Recently got a new computer (about 1 month ago) for our office and we keep getting the following BSOD almost daily:The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000009f (0x0000000000000003, 0xfffffa80080d3060, 0xfffff80000b9c3d80xfffffa800994bac0). A dump was saved in: C:WindowsMEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 051012-14414-01. tried to analyze the mini dump files myself, but I can't seem to get them to open up.Not sure how to fix this issue and windows troubleshooting is uselessCurrently running: Windows 7 Professional x64 Sp1 OEM
HP Pavilion DM1 notebook with Windows 7 OS 64 bit version has been experiencing BSOD many times for the past few weeks. Normally, the BSOD occurs when there is a sudden interruption in the Internet connection (Internet connection is through a USB modem as a dial-up connection). In such a case, the system refuses to acknowledge the presence of the USB in the port. After approx. 10 minutes the BSOD occurs. Else, if the Shut Down command is given, the Shutting Down screen appears, it remains for around 10 minutes and BSOD occurs eventually. The screen that appears is as follows:
DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE Technical Information: STOP : 0X0000009F 0X0000000000000004 0XFFFFFA800141DB50 OXFFFFF80000B9C510 Problem Event Name: Blue Screen OS Version - 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.2 Locale ID - 16393 Service Pack - 1_0 product - 768_1

"The system has rebooted completely without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed or lost power unexpectedly" The system is approx. 1 year old. The OS is Windows 7 Home Basic 64 bit OEM version. The OS is also 1 year old. No re-installation has been done. BIOS update not done. Windows Security Essentials has been installed successfully, that means the original OS has been pre-installed. Not able to run perfmon/report. When this is typed in the start menu, it says: No items match your search"
I have just bought a new pc and it has already an error!! When I swicht off my pc, a bluescreen appears with "driver power state failure". It's the first time I have seen this error: (a little part is in italian, but errors are international![CODE]
I am on Windows 7 x64. Today I turned my computer on and it stopped at the "Windows Error Recovery". From the 2 options given I chose "Start Windows Normally". After pressing Enter it will not go beyond the black screen where it says "Starting Windows" and immediately reboots to the "Windows Error Recovery" again. I then chose the other option which is "Launch Startup Repair", entered the Disk, wait for it to load system files but it reboots to the Disk loading the files again like an eternal loop. Tried the F8 Advance booting options, chose "boot in safe mode with command prompt", it starts loading but then it reboots itself again!!
My system specs are these: >XFX Nforce 750i SLI >Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 @ 2666 MHz >3x2gb Corsair CM2X2048-6400C5 DIMM DDR2 PC2-6400U DDR2-800 (5-5-5-18 3-22-6-3) >ATI Radeon HD 4300/4500 Series >WD Caviar Blue 500gb
Well i thought that turning off the option for auto restart when a system failure occurs would be a good idea so i could see a blue screen of death so i could determine the problem with my computer but it did nothing. My computer still restarts whenever.
When I update my bios the power was gone and my battery also dead. So when the power come I restart my compaq c772 tu Laptop but it not functioning. Only black screen appear. What to do?
i have problem on my laptop during i running a game when game start on running page and close and shown display error, There is no attachment order/file otherwise i send you a error ( Fetal error:Couldn, flip DirectX error message Unknown error )
i have this problem where the wireless wont work after the power has been turned off and then back on. they use a power box for the main pc, modem and router and turn it off before they go to sleep to save on electricity costs. usually, my fix is to unplug the router, turn the modem off.. turn it back on and the router back on. from time to time the wireless will work after the power has been turned back on, but its either very slow or the connection goes in and out. i'm sick of having to reset everything before i want to use my laptop.
My laptop is 1 year old and has worked great until a month ago. I was unable to connect to the internet and thru troubleshooting got a "missing network adapter". I have since upgraded the driver. I also purchased Registry cleaner program that supposedly found over 400 registry errors.I found by accident that I was able to connect normally if I turned the PC off by holding the power button. Then restarting, I got a message to start windows normally. When I did, and then it connected to the internet normally. Now, each night if I leave the power connected to the laptop and shut down windows from the Start command it works fine. I do not want to have to leave the power connected. Toshiba tech support is unable to help other that suggesting I return the PC to the "out of the box' status which is totally unacceptable to me.
I was among the 1.4 million SDG&E customers that lost power on Sept 8, 2011. At around 10:30PM the power came back on and I attempted to boot up my Win 7 machine (which was on at the time of the outage). It gets through POST, displaying the list of auto detected devices, clears that screen to black and then displays a flashing white caret on the black background and gets stuck there.Any ideas on how to restore without re-installing Win 7 (and everything else)?
On an HP pavilion P4 3.0ghz 160gb hdd 1.5gb ram. While upgrading from Vista to Windows 7 i had a power failure. Now when i reboot power comes on fans turn, hard drive, DVD drive lights blind during POST. However, no response at all to the monitor, no beeps, no display nothing at all. Can't even get into the BIOS.
I live outside US, which means, a power outage from time to time is normal, but when that happens in the middle of a crucial moment is very stressful. I went to the BIOS and turned on the option Restart After Power Failure, though it wasn't what I was looking for. Is there a way to set my Windows 7 to resume my last session (all the programs I was using) after power failure ?
I keep getting a BSOD "driver_power_state_failure" on my windows 7 64 bit homebrew PC. I have attached the minidump file. Does anyone have any idea which driver might be causing the BSOD?
I just received a computer I bought about a week ago, yesterday. Last night, while it was on and downloading files, the power board it was plugged into shut off. Now, it's stuck in an endless loop of failing to boot. It keeps asking me to insert the Windows 7 installation disc and restart. I put the disc in but it stays stuck in the loop and I am unable to do anything. I've managed to get it to go to the system repair setup, but it continued to try to repair the problems for over 6 hours and nothing has happened.
I'm running Windows 7 and whenever I close my laptop my computer crashes and restarts. My settings are set to go to sleep mode when the lid is closed. I ran Blue Screen View and have a Driver Power State Failure. I also ran the SF Diagnostic Tool and attached the results.
Ok, so I left my PC on last night while it was installing some Windows 7 (x64) updates, via Windows Update. I came back to it this morning at it looks like it had rebooted.I have the PC set for "install updates automatically" (the default setting) I believe this will reboot the PC at around 3am.1) Is there a way to check that the PC rebooted via Windows Update, as opposed to a power bump/outage?2) Would a power bump during Windows Update corrupt Windows 7 somehow? I checked Windows Update and it looks like there are no FAILED updates.
I have a computer which is pretty old except for the video card which is 2 years old and the psu which is literally 1 month old.Today morning my girlfriend turned the computer on and it started displaying striped flashing multi-colored lights. I turned it off immediately. When I turned it on after 3 hours, It went to start up repair then it displayed a Fatal Error BSOD. Then it proceeded to switch to flashing multi-colored lights which resulted in burning smell from the computer.
So I keep getting the blue screen Power State Failure which I am sure you are all aware of. It's happening a lot to me, and it really needs to go away it's causing my computer to be incredibly slow.
and this is the log that came up if it tried virtually everything, another problem was installing Net. Framework 4 which was needed by the programme I'm trying to run, kept coming up with a fatal error, but I got round this by installing the 4.5 developer preview version instead,[CODE]
So I have a laptop here and the previous HD failed. I bought a new HD and I also bought a new Windows 7 Home Edition OEM copy. As I started the Windows 7 installer and it gets to the Windows 7 splash screen, the fatal error appears.
