Jan 4, 2013My Aspire 5542-1615 will not fire up. When I hit the power button it comes to a faded Sstarup screen and then nothing happens.

Computer Turned On Nothing Showing Up On Screen
Nov 29, 2011Since my new comp has been built, about a month ago, every now and then when I power up the computer it fails to display anything on my monitor. I look into the case and see that the red VGA LED is lit up on the motherboard. Whenever this happens, I take my GPU out and reinsert it, close up the case, power up and it works again.
Motherboard is Asus P8P67 Pro B3 Rev
GPU is Gigabyte Nvidia GeForce GTX 570 SO

Dec 5, 2011I'm using I have a DELL4500S desktop, on startup it will not go to the login screen, the screen is just black with the cursor showing. I've tried restarting the computer, unplugging everything and restarting it. Nothing is working. When it first starts a pop up shows and says "This Application has failed to start because SAMLIB.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix the problem."I'm not sure what it's talking about and what to re install and I can't reinstall whatever it is because I can't get to the start menu.

Jan 20, 2012Want to know if their is anyway to make my laptop startup w/o showing error when it doesnt properly shutdown.My keyboard shorted out,wiggled the ribbon & the connector came off the motherboard.I have no usb keyboards.So if i don't shut down properly,it shows the error message with options.Usually startup repair is highlighted by default.And since I have no keyboard to change the option,it starts that automatically after countdown & I can't cancel it.
It's very irritating.I just been using the on screen keyboard,I actually don't mind that.I know just shutting it down properly will fix this.But their is times where I lose power to laptop sometimes.Im not a noob,I normally leave my laptop plugged up w/o battery when I use it.Sometimes the plug comes out(dogs knock it out etc.).I know most laptops are supposed to stop sending a charge to batt once it's 100%.But I think it's bs & don't trust it.My preference & opinion

Samsung Laptop Freezes On Windows 7 Startup Screen
Nov 29, 2012I just picked up a used Samsung Series 3 Laptop and had an issue with the keyboard not working properly. While reinstalling some drivers the computer re-started itself and then proceeded to freeze on the "starting windows" screen. I tried to run the windows repair option, it boots into a green background which says'please wait'...well I waited and waited and nothing happened so I kept retrying it. Eventually I left this on for a half hour or so and it actually finally went into the windows repair option!
I chose to re install windows from the partition and thought everything was fine, it went through the downloading and installing of those files and restarted, froze on the 'Starting windows" screen. I left it there for 40 mins plus, thinking maybe it just needed time, the only thing it did was reset itself after 30 or so minutes and froze again. I tried going into Bios and resetting the defaults, I don't even care about the keyboard not working anymore, I just want to get the computer functioning again!

I have tried system restore, repair best last configuration. none have made a difference i am running it through safe mode at the moment as that is the only thing i can get on..i have no idea what else i can do!

When booting, the windows spiral begins then stops, and it reboots to the screen to choose startup repair or start windows normally. If I do startup repair, it doesn't find anything to repair, and reboot usually works fine. If I choose Start Windows Normally, 75% of the time if works fine. When the computer runs, it's fine and everything seems to run normally, I don't get blue screens or other issues. I'm not sure where to find any recorded errors to get more specifics.
