my computer turned off while doing a system update when I turned it back on there was an error with a hibernation file now it wont load past the starting windows screen I've tried a system restore and system repair.
View 1 Repliesi recently got an update from microsoft on win 7, and immediately after it had finished updating i had no sound in any application (aim, skype, chrome, firefox, Internet, etc.). this has happened before, and i ran microsoft's sound problems wizard and it always said that an option had been clicked off and that it had restored it.this time when i ran the wizard it says it detects no problems. i am sure it is the software, as it happens a lot with ms updates. will downloadi can't go back to a previous configuration, i don't have one to go to

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy wife has a toshiba Satellite L645D-S4040 running Windows 7 64 bit. This morning she ran an update and has since lost wifi and Fn F8 does not work. Went to Toshiba site and downloaded and ran the TVAP. It got rid of the Microsoft virtual wifi miniport adapter and we still can't get the wifi to enable. Unfortunately she does not remember which update it was that she performed.

It has been working fine for 2 yearsIn the middle of a windows update, the laptop was turned off.When started again, it had errors on update and stopped. Rebooted a few times but it always failed at the same point.Tried rebooting and using the system restore and repair options.It did get past the initial error point, but failed again further on.Now it doesn't boot at all, I get the error of needing to plug in a bootable device.

I look into the case and see that the red VGA LED is lit up on the motherboard. Whenever this happens, I take my GPU out and reinsert it, close up the case, power up and it works again.

I can't enable wake on lan on my computer. First I tried with an on board LAN cart then I added external cart - Intel(R) PRO/1000 GT.In the device manager I checked "Allow this device to wake up the computer" and "Only allow a magic packed to wake up the computer" for the network adapter.In BIOS I enabled the PME Event Wake up property.On my machine I installed a Magic Packect sender/receiver to check whather the packets can reach the computer and I see that the packets are received when I send them from my phone.But when the computer is turned off I can't wake it this way. Also there's light from my LAN cart, so I assume that is has power from the mainboard when the computer is turned off. My mainboard is Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3 and the operating system is Windows 7 32bit.

Research on the internet has shown that the computer, although seeming to shut down may still be running in the background. I turned the computer back on and the internet wouldn't work at all! I reinstalled windows 7 again, and this time I didn't do any updates. I went to the device manager and selected the Atheros AR5007 driver and selected "update". Halfway through, the computer gave me BSOD. I rolled back the driver to previous version and all works well now.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am on Windows 7 x64. Today I turned my computer on and it stopped at the "Windows Error Recovery". From the 2 options given I chose "Start Windows Normally". After pressing Enter it will not go beyond the black screen where it says "Starting Windows" and immediately reboots to the "Windows Error Recovery" again. I then chose the other option which is "Launch Startup Repair", entered the Disk, wait for it to load system files but it reboots to the Disk loading the files again like an eternal loop. Tried the F8 Advance booting options, chose "boot in safe mode with command prompt", it starts loading but then it reboots itself again!!

I have a computer which, every time it's restarted or turned on, the network icon always had that exclamation point, and it can't connect to the internet. All it needs to do is an IP config release/renew, then disable then re-enable the adapter, and it fixes itself. But upon reboot/restart, it happened again!

When booting, the windows spiral begins then stops, and it reboots to the screen to choose startup repair or start windows normally. If I do startup repair, it doesn't find anything to repair, and reboot usually works fine. If I choose Start Windows Normally, 75% of the time if works fine. When the computer runs, it's fine and everything seems to run normally, I don't get blue screens or other issues. I'm not sure where to find any recorded errors to get more specifics.
