View 1 RepliesI have a pc since 2007 with the following characteristics:Processor - Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Box;Motherboard - Asus P5K Deluxe WiFi-APMem Ram- OCZ DDR2 4GB PC2-6400 Gold GX XTC 5-5-5-12Internal Harddrive - Seagate 500GB SATAII 16MBGraphics- Sapphire HD2900XT 512MBDVD/CD - LG DVD-RW GSA-H44N 18XTower - Thermaltake Soprano DX BlackPower Source - LC-Power 850W Arkangel V.2.2 140mmMonitor - Samsung 206BWSO - Windows 7 64bitsEarlier this year it started freezing when running new games and the fans made a lot of noise. After a while it started freezing all the time so I decided to clean it up. It had tons of dust that I removed and I even applied thermal paste MX3 to the processor. Everything went well for a few months but now the freezing has restarted. Basically, I turn it on and it freezes while doing small stuff like opening firefox or steam whithin a minutes.
Normally the screen goes black but the lights in the tower stay on and the fans keep working. I have to manually reboot and then it just works normally with no more freezings. This is a temperature scan that I made just before one of the freezes:Sometimes a blue screen appears and the following error is issued:Assinatura do problema:Nome do Evento de Problema: BlueScreenVerso do SO: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3ID de Regio: 2070Informaes adicionais sobre o problema:BCCode: 116BCP1: FFFFFA8003DF94E0BCP2: FFFFF88003A93408BCP3: 0000000000000000BCP4: 0000000000000002OS Version: 6_1_7601Service Pack: 1_0Product: 768_1I have all the lastest drivers installed.
I have been experiencing some freezes with my windows 7 ultimate, basically the mouse and the keyboard freeze and I have to manually shut down the PC, it only happen when I'm at windows or when the screen is automatically turned off, the strange thing is that when I'm gaming it never freeze, actually I played BF3 yesterday around 3 hours with max settings and it didn't happen. I don't know if this is related but I've noticed that firefox is been running slow compared to the past (after I moved to the 280.26 driver and now to the 285.62) and there was a java application opened when the freezes occurred (jdownloader). The hardware is all brand new except by the D hd drive (windows is installed in the other one) which had some kind of problem, here are my specs:
Windows 7 64 bit ultimate
Gigabyte 990fxa ud3
AMF Phenom ii 955 (amd cool and quiet disabled)
Gskill ripjaws 2 x 4 gbs 1600 Mhz
Hitachi Sata 1TB x1
Hitachi Sata 500 gb x1
Gigabyte gtx 460 1gb
EVGA gtx 460 1gb (sli)
Thermaltake TR 2 RX 750w.
On startup, the Windows desktop shows up, but after a few seconds the screen went blue, with no text of any kind. When I turned my computer on and off manually, I get a black screen that asks me if I want to go into safe mode. It says to use the arrows keys and press enter to choose which mode to go into, but the keyboard is unresponsive at this screen.
What do I do? How do I get into safe mode? Do I need to bring my computer in to the computer repair shop?
My system is:

I have a Samsung RF-711. Recently, whenever I shut down and boot later or when I shut the lid and boot later, it freezes. When I just shut the lid and hibernate, it freezes as soon as it is opened and must be reset by holding down the power. When it is shut down and rebooted it takes an extremely long time to restart.

I look into the case and see that the red VGA LED is lit up on the motherboard. Whenever this happens, I take my GPU out and reinsert it, close up the case, power up and it works again.

I have an Asus A53S Laptop. It's about 2 years old and is no longer under warranty and I am now getting the Blue screen of death. This started occurring after I had just opened a slot in the back that only had access to the ram but didn't modify anything. I can post a picture of that if needed. It seems to occur when I put the computer under a small amount of load. It will happen if I run maybe 4 programs max. Skype, google chrome, microsoft office, etc. I manage to get a picture of the screen when it blue screened. I read about a "A process or thread crucial to system operation has unexpectedly exited or been terminated" error.

I have a:

ATI Mobility Radeon HD4250 and 3GB DDR3 Memory and 320GB HDD
I am running Windows 7 64 bit. It crashes basically whenever computer goes to sleep mode and when I try to hit enter and wake up the system from sleep mode I get this blue screen issue and below is what I get.

My computer locks up randomly and the screen turns black and unresponsive, at least once per day, forcing me to do a hard reset. There is no BSOD or Minidump created, although sometimes (maybe 75% of the time) there is a dump file created in the LiveKernelReports folder. The dump files in LiveKernelReports always point to atikmpag.sys. I tried uninstalling all video card drivers and using driver sweeper, and letting Windows use default graphics. I continued to get the same freezes, except no dump files were created at all in LiveKernelReports. I then reinstalled the ATI drivers, and the symptoms persist, now with dump files again pointing to the same atikmpag.sys.this only happens when the system is idle for a while. I never get freezes when actively using the system, but if I return to it after an hour or more, it's just a black screen and I must do a hard reset.I am running Win 7 professional 64-bit full version, 8 gb ram, 1gb ddr5 msi video card.Another strange symptom: After the hard reset, the computer has deleted all of my IE cookies. It also has forgotten the IE window size after these hard resets... very bizarre. In fact, if I make any changes to the desktop -- for example, by moving the icons or re-sorting them by name -- Windows doesn't remember this either. On reboot, it reverts to whatever I had on the desktop before making the changes. This does not happen on a normal restart/reboot. If I do not wait for it to crash, and instead I reboot normally, all of my settings/cookies/window sizes are preserved like you'd expect.
I've tried the following:
- ran memtest86, no errors after 9 passes
- ran seatools hard drive diagnostics, no errors found
- ran Hot CPU Tester 4, no errors found
- reinstalled/reseated graphics gard and memory sticks
- running with a single memory stick (same crashes occur with either memory stick)
- the windows memory and hard drive diagnostic tools, no errors found
- When running Driver Verifier, I get the same freezes, and still no minidump or bsod.
- Disabling all power saving options both in Windows and in the BIOS, like sleep mode, hibernate, etc.
- Updating all drivers that seemed out of date and upgrading bios to latest firmware.
Prime95 and furmark run without issue, and do not crash the system (presumably, because the system isn't idle when they are running). Idle temps (~30 degrees C) and temps under heavy load (about 60 degrees C) are well within the normal range. If I run in safe mode, it does not seem to occur, but I'm not positive because I've never stayed in safe mode for more than a day.
When I turned my PC on today, a weird window shows up.[url]...
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy computer has been acting strange upon start up. It takes a little longer than usuall to show my accounts and once I click them it also takes a bit longer. When the home screen finally comes on its a gray screen. This screen lasts for almost 30 seconds. Is this something I need to be concerned about?
View 1 Replies View Relatedmy computer start giving me blue screen error. It's a recurrent problem, but it happens only when I'm playing games, altough it seens to happen with all games, it happens more often when I'm playing World of Warcraft and Pro Evolution Soccer 2011, since they're the ones I play most. When the system crashes, the blue screen shows no file names but the log when the PC resets shows that BCCode: 7f / BCP1: 0000000D, don't know what it means. My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit. I ran out of ideas for solutions, tried an OS reset (I was on XP and formated it to install 7), reinstalled all my drivers and tried all kinds of forums, looking for a solution, but nothing happened.
View 2 Replies View RelatedComputer threw out a bunch of weird language and then said crash and shut down. Now it doesn't really boot or reboot. I have to pull the battery to get it to restart and I get the HP logo when I put the battery back in and it takes me to a Windows Errory Recovery screen with two options: Launch Repair or Launch normally. Neither one of them does anything. I just get the blue screen.
I've tried the f8 key and the f10 key and can't seem to get to any other screen. I put the restore disk into the CD rom drive and I don't think it's accessing it at all.
It is an HP Pavilion dv7-4087cl with an Intel Core i5-430M processor and its running Windows 7 Home Premium OA 64 bit.
I left my computer on overnight, and when I just returned to it I discovered that it had shut down, and when I started it up, I was informed that Windows had just recovered from an unexpected shut down. Though I guess I should mention that the other night, even though I was not doing anything on my computer, a fan was working really hard (loudly), so I just shut it the PC down. I'm thinking it could be overheating, but it is currently quite cold where I am, so it doesn't really make much sense. Here's the details of the error

I can not get my computer to start up. I have gone through the recovery start up, pressing F8 to get to the screen, after pressing system recovery, it just takes me to a blue screen and then back to the page that tells you windows failed to start up normally. I have tried safe mode, the same thing happens and then I tried last known good configuration. That led me back to a blue screen with nothing happening except the lights on the front of the computer blinking white several times, then orange back and forth. At one point it did go to a black screen with the lights on the front blinking, but it did that forever and nothing happened

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been scouring the internet and can't come up with anything. Its an older computer, probably about three or four years old, running windows 7.The Symptoms: Repeated BOSD, Very Slow Operating, Won't allow for a Windows Back-Up to be made, has trouble booting into Windows.A while back before everything started, I had been using it and noticed that it had been running very slowly. It would operate fine for a while, before just seizing up almost completely. That went on for quite a long while, possible four or five months. Then things got worse.A few days ago, I noticed that it said that it had a hard-drive malfunction upon start-up, so it wouldn't let me boot the machine. So, I created a windows recovery disk off of another computer and tried that. That allowed access to the Windows Log-in screen and once beyond that, windows would operate as usual. But some of the times not even the start-up disk will get you in the front door it seems. They've tried to create a windows back-up file on an old external drive we had around, but it said there wasn't enough room. So after purchasing a brand new external hard-drive, they instead got the message "could not complete", again, sadly I wasn't there to see if there was more to it than that.So this begs the question, what exactly is wrong here - and more so, can it be fixed?I don't mind spending some time on it, I don't. I just need to know what to do really. I'm not sure if it is a virus that has gotten in so deeply or possibly malware that has corrupted windows itself. It could be bad memory, a HDD malfunction. Possibly Software or Hardware issues. I'm not really sure here at all. I've tried what I know and that apparently hasn't been enough.
View 5 Replies View Relatedim using "turn off display: 1 min" setting on my power option.
after several minutes away, when i come and i "press any key" to my computer, the display turned back on, but the desktop freezes.
i can only move my mouse but i cant right or left click to my desktop. i usually wait for like 40 - 60 secs for my desktop to be responding again.
is there something wrong with my computer? cos i am doing fresh install, and didnt modify any settings yet.
i hereby conclude what makes my desktop freezes is when i checked on "auto-hide the taskbar" setting on taskbar properties and used "turn off display after" setting.
so, these are things that might happen:
1. i disabled "auto-hide the taskbar" and disabled "turn off display after"
with / without any open programs
result: desktop fine
2. i enabled "auto-hide the taskbar" and disabled "turn off display after"
with / without any open programs
result: desktop fine
3. i disabled "auto-hide the taskbar" and enabled "turn off display after"
with / without any open programs
result: desktop fine
4. i enabled "auto-hide the taskbar" and enabled "turn off display after"
with a/some open program(s)
result: desktop fine
5. i enabled "auto-hide the taskbar" and enabled "turn off display after"
without any open programs
result: desktop freezes
PS.
i havent installed the latest display driver yet. i only now have the Ati Mobility Radeon X1400 from Windows Update, the latest one. i cant find the actual driver for my video card from my manufacturer's site.
The past couple of days i've been experiencing unusual behaviour from my computer. For the past few days I've been having crashing problems. The crashes aren't all the same however; on a handful of occasions it's given the famous old 'blue screen of death' and on others my computer either just turns off, or the whole computer just crashes. I've noticed the crashes only occur when I turn the computer to 'full peformance' mode after a couple of minutes meaning I'm literally unable to leave power save mode for more than 3 minutes.
I use 'EPU-4 Engine' to switch my computer between 'power save' mode and 'full peformance' mode only using full peformance if I want to play games or install something.
I didn't think much of this at start, as i've never had these problems before 2 days ago. I figured it may have been a faulty driver, so I downloaded specific ones for hardware, but that didn't solve the problem. I then tried a system restore to restore back to a previous date presuming it may have been an update that went wrong, but nothing changed, I still got the crashes.
I run Windows 7 64 bit Home Edition,
AMD Phenom II x4 964,
ATI 5850 Graphics card,
4 GB's of Ram
I am getting occasional Blue screen errors with the computer shutting down unexpectedly. I have attached the dump file as per the instructions.
