View 1 Repliesi found my computer is freezing all the time. I have had no problems with this up to now, but it's so bad, it's impossible to do anything. After i log in, the computer will freeze after a minute or two. Doesn't matter what i'm doing. I had a problem with freezing a year ago when i used an old Saitek joystick. I deleted the drivers and software and it worked fine after that. I was using that joystick again a month ago and the computer would still run fine. However, now, it doesn't. I deleted the drivers and software related to saitek and it still freezes without fail a minute or two after startup.

Also I take a look through the settings of avast and i find this two settings: "enable rootkit scan on system starup""enable raw disk access during avast! boot-time scan"I disable both of them, but still windows take about 30 sec longer to boot.

View 1 Replies View Relatedurn off Instant On using an Asus laptopi'm having a non-virus (i'm pretty sure i've run MBAM,Avast!, and Super anti-spyware all pro version with nothing being picked up) related problem, about a week ago my hdd started freezing constantly (after MSW auto updates,i tryed sys-restore to no avial), this is a relatively old drive (about 5 years), and then suddenly a few days ago it refused to boot the OS and then i took it to the local IT guy and he got it to boot the OS but now i've noticed that my main admin account(i'm using my spare right now) will freeze when ever i try to open a program,it is still responsive to some key commands like alt-tab, and sometimes ctrl+shift+esc, after this happens explorer.exe becomes un-responsive and i have to hard boot the machine.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using 7137 for a long time, and I haven't had any problems with it until yesterday. I'll be doing normal stuff, like using Chrome, etc. When I try and click an icon on my taskbar, nothing happens. I get the blue spinning wheel.
To add, I can't even use keyboard shortcuts to open up Run, Task Manager, and more.
[code] Since purchase, every 2-10 minutes the laptop will freeze for 2-4 minutes during which in some instances I'll be able to move around with the mouse and switch tabs in chrome, but not much else, and in other cases it will be a complete freeze.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have windows 7 ultimate x64 installed
i7 2600k
16gb ram
gtx 560 ti
avast anti-virus
Custom built computer, ran on a sailor version of ultimate for a long time and had no problems. I recently double installed ultimate x64 with an upgrade dvd, and installing all the driver updates the computer would freeze constantly, sometimes even right after the login window. I installed sp1 successfully but still crashes constantly.
I have a Toshiba Satellite L305 Series laptop. It is a Intel Celeron, with 2GB of RAM and 146 GB hard drive space and it is Windows 7 Professional 32-bit. Every time I turn it on, it works normally, but then it freezes every 5-10 minutes and I have to turn it off by pressing the on/off button and when I turn it on again, same thing works and then freezes.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was using the Beta since Feb. with no problems whatsoever. When the time limit was up I installed the RC1. I did a freesh install, not an upgrade. Ever since the install, my display will freeze at random and the pc requires a hard reboot. I initially assumed it was a video driver issue. First, I updated all my drivers to the latest, but it kept happening. So I tried the driver for Vista, but it kept happening. Well, gaming and watching video is the main thing I do with my pc, so as is it is useless. I disabled the video driver so I could download another OS but it still freezes, even with no video driver.
I can't stay unfrozen long enough now to download a linux distro, and my XP is no good becasue it doesn't come with the drivers I need to get online, so I can't install it and update the drivers, so basically I'm screwed.
I have searched online for hours, but no real answers. Its frustrating as hell that the beta was working flawlessly, then they made me ugrade, now its broken.
I have Windows 7 Ultimate on my laptop and constantly am running into the issue with iTunes always freezing up either when I open the program or while it's minimized, scrolling through my library, or in the iTunes Store. I have uninstalled it and all of its components one by one, re-installed and it will only work for so long before it acts up again.

View 9 Replies View Relatedecently I have been experiencing this one issue over and over again, my internet would stop working in the middle of me using it. I would try to click on the wireless icon in the notifications bar and nothing would happen so I would then try and go to the Network and Sharing Center through the control panel and when I click on Network and Sharing Center the explorer that I am in freezes.I have looked on here to see if this is a common occurrence but I haven't been able to find anything similar to my issue.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFo the last few days, Internet explorer stops working all of the time. When this happens, no desktop icons work. Sometimes, I can use task manager to shut down instances of iexplore.exe*32 and it works again for a while. Sometimes, I am not allowed to close the instances with task manager as it says operationdenied.Malwarebytes returns 0 issues. I tried MS safety scanner and that also found nothing.I assume there is a virus or trojan at work here but I really don't know what else to do
View 6 Replies View RelatedLong ago i updated my bluetooth adapter driver, and the caused malfunction. I downloaded the driver from Dell Support website (apparently there are 3 under 'Network', and i get a lucky shot) and the bluetooth is fucntioning once again. however i checked through the device manager and found '!' marks on Bluetooth Peripheral Device. something is not right. Recent windows update (automatically) has failed to install over and over again, hence prompting to redownload the same update every time i turn on the laptop. Specifically, its is 'security update for the .NET Framework 4 on Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008 R2: January 8, 2013 (KB2742595)'.. There is another update coming (also tagged as Important) but come to fail as well. So currently there is 2 pending updates. While im having these problem, the boot time has increases noticeably. Long black screen appears before the login page turn up. Some says this is related to device/driver error. im not sure myself. Very recently i have my Avast Antivirus not working (turned off) and every time i ask it to turn on or resume, nothing happens. It remain not-functioning and so, i uninstall Avast and adopt AVG Antivirus. i think this is around when i was installing the bluetooth driver from Dell.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy desktop computer fan runs incessantly. Even when it is in a cool environment, it runs almost constantly. Even when it is not supposed to be doing anything, it will be running. This drives me nuts; what can I do about it?
Also, as an aside, I have noticed that, when I access the Internet or something else on my *other* computer, a laptop, or even iPhone, on the same router network, the fan starts running on the desktop computer.
I have a dell optiplex 360 that is running windows 7. I added a video card geforce 7950 gt, at the time when I added this the computer was running fine for months. Then I upgraded the power supply to a raidmax rx730ss because the video card needed the 6 pin power supply that the old psu didn't have. After I installed the new PSU the computer would start running the post (dell logo screen) finish the load bar, go to a black screen then reboot and start running post again. the computer does this indefinitely as far as I can tell.I installed the old power supply and it did the exact same thing.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo my computer starts out logging on, sometimes it'll take a long time on the splash screen, sometimes it'll freeze on the splash screen, but now more recently, it's just gotten to the splash screen, not turned off, and restarted itself back to the start screen. It comes up with the problem of Windows not shutting down properly and asks for system repair or normal startup, but system repair doesn't help at all because it gets to the background screen and system repair doesn't pop up.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having a really bothersome problem here, my computer is shutting down sometimes or either freezing and making weirds noises where i can't move even the mouse and i need to hard boot.
This freezes only happens when i turn on the computer for the firsts time of the day, it happens like 5-10 times and then he starts working correctly for the rest of the day, i don't have a clue what is happening, do i need to format my computer?
After i lock the computer and leave for a bit, i come back to find my hard drive spinning constantly at 100 % reading and writing, but when i touch the mouse and move it it immediately goes away.I've tried disabling the Search Indexer, but that hasnt seemed to stop it. I originally ran windows xp professional until i upgraded to adobe cs5 and needed to switch to windows 7.now that i have windows 7 my programs stop working constantly. if i'm working in photoshop on a large photo the screen will go blank and a bubble will pop-up saying "driver stopped working but has started working again" and a lot of times photoshop, illustrator, and FL Studio will stop working and need to be shut down and started again. i've noticed sometimes when the computer is on overnight i'll wake up and it will be off. when i turn on the computer it will say that it didn't shut down properly. i was in the process of doing batch photo edits and it shut down on me right in the middle so i've got to figure out the problem. since i use this computer for freelance graphic design and photography. here are my specs.
