My desktop computer fan runs incessantly. Even when it is in a cool environment, it runs almost constantly. Even when it is not supposed to be doing anything, it will be running. This drives me nuts; what can I do about it?
Also, as an aside, I have noticed that, when I access the Internet or something else on my *other* computer, a laptop, or even iPhone, on the same router network, the fan starts running on the desktop computer.
I have a dell optiplex 360 that is running windows 7. I added a video card geforce 7950 gt, at the time when I added this the computer was running fine for months. Then I upgraded the power supply to a raidmax rx730ss because the video card needed the 6 pin power supply that the old psu didn't have. After I installed the new PSU the computer would start running the post (dell logo screen) finish the load bar, go to a black screen then reboot and start running post again. the computer does this indefinitely as far as I can tell.I installed the old power supply and it did the exact same thing.

I have tried lots of things, memtest86, spyware, malware removal, the scan now option via cmd. Ive been told its probably a system file, but its not. It Usually only happens when the internet is involved. Webcam, minecraft online, that stuff
View 9 Replies View Relatedi found my computer is freezing all the time. I have had no problems with this up to now, but it's so bad, it's impossible to do anything. After i log in, the computer will freeze after a minute or two. Doesn't matter what i'm doing. I had a problem with freezing a year ago when i used an old Saitek joystick. I deleted the drivers and software and it worked fine after that. I was using that joystick again a month ago and the computer would still run fine. However, now, it doesn't. I deleted the drivers and software related to saitek and it still freezes without fail a minute or two after startup.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo my computer starts out logging on, sometimes it'll take a long time on the splash screen, sometimes it'll freeze on the splash screen, but now more recently, it's just gotten to the splash screen, not turned off, and restarted itself back to the start screen. It comes up with the problem of Windows not shutting down properly and asks for system repair or normal startup, but system repair doesn't help at all because it gets to the background screen and system repair doesn't pop up.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having a really bothersome problem here, my computer is shutting down sometimes or either freezing and making weirds noises where i can't move even the mouse and i need to hard boot.
This freezes only happens when i turn on the computer for the firsts time of the day, it happens like 5-10 times and then he starts working correctly for the rest of the day, i don't have a clue what is happening, do i need to format my computer?
After i lock the computer and leave for a bit, i come back to find my hard drive spinning constantly at 100 % reading and writing, but when i touch the mouse and move it it immediately goes away.I've tried disabling the Search Indexer, but that hasnt seemed to stop it. Scheduled defrag is off too. It's an Asus G73JW Laptop?
View 15 Replies View RelatedI am having a big issue with my computer. I originally ran windows xp professional until i upgraded to adobe cs5 and needed to switch to windows 7.now that i have windows 7 my programs stop working constantly. if i'm working in photoshop on a large photo the screen will go blank and a bubble will pop-up saying "driver stopped working but has started working again" and a lot of times photoshop, illustrator, and FL Studio will stop working and need to be shut down and started again. i've noticed sometimes when the computer is on overnight i'll wake up and it will be off. when i turn on the computer it will say that it didn't shut down properly. i was in the process of doing batch photo edits and it shut down on me right in the middle so i've got to figure out the problem. since i use this computer for freelance graphic design and photography. here are my specs.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an HP dv6 notebook with Windows 7 64 bit home premium edition. When I start up, my computer freezes. I have to log off then log back on to do anything. All updates and drivers are current. The only seems to be is with the virtual wi-fi adapter. I can't find a trusted site to download one. The device manager says everything is working properly.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem on my computer where freezing happens not buffering. I have windows 7, 64 bit, it's about one year old with a good graphics card, eight GB's of memory and a solid state hard drive. Intel (R) Core (TM) i7-2600 CPU 3.40 GHz.When trying to watch a movie a clip or a game it will play but I need to move the mouse or click it. Flash games are almost unplayable on Firefox and IE. On demanding games that I have bought there is never a problem. I'm told at the web sites to update Adobe flash player and Shockwave which I have, but that didn't do anything.Techs that I have talked to say go to restore point but it doesn't go back anywhere close to the date when the problem started. Or reinstall windows but that seems to be their answer for everything
View 1 Replies View Relatedit's been weeks and I've tried everything I could: system restore, disk check, disc fragmentor, safemode scanning, etc My problem is that for some reason, all of my scans (superantispyware, malwarebytes and avast), all start to freeze during full system scans. Quick scans are completely fine, but when it's system scan, for example, superantispyware would hang when it gets to system32

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy computer used to crash almost daily after being idle, and I was able to fix that. Now My computer seems to freeze about once a day after being idle for awhile. I usually get back to the computer after it has been idle for awhile, and it won't let me open any new programs. I try to open task manager and it doesn't let me do that either. I am able to shut down the computer, and when I turn it back on it works fine. [code]

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to uninstall my .Net framework but my computer just crashes with a bluescreen or freeze. I get the same result when I use a .Net framwork cleanup tool. The bluescreen error code is usually Stop 0x0000000A.The reason I am trying to reinstall my .Net framework is because some programs such as Nem's tools fail to launch and instead get an error saying "side by side configuration is incorrect". If I try to repair my .Net framework i get the same bluescreen.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI bought the laptop used about a month ago and everything seemed fine. A few days later I noticed that the fan was running a lot, so I read a tutorial online and used a can of compressed air to clean out/off any dust and such. Right away the fan/computer was much quieter. My situation now is that whenever I watch a video (Netflix, HULU or even something stored on my HD), within a minute or two the video freezes/locks up or sound and video are lagging quite a bit. I have no indications of malware/virus and it seems everything else is mostly fine with the computer. I did the Windows troubleshooting and it recommended lowering resolution and turning off Windows Transparency. I haven't done either because I wanted to ask for help before I start changing settings. I installed Core Temp. 1.0 about an hour ago and both Core's are running between 72-76 deg C with a Tj.Max of 85*C.
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy window start freezing, crashing or doesn't show anything on screen after I turn on the power. It happen randomly in window, safe mode and BIOS. It said "overclock failed" and I have to reset the system, but I don't remember ever overclocking it and I already reset the CMOS. This problem occur randomly and my computer DOES function properly in Windows once I passed the freezing, crashing or no screen random start-ups disasters. Seems turning on the computer is the only issue here. I am hoping someone can point me to the source of this problem. What control a computer start-up?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a problem running MMORPG games on Windows 7, they are: warhammer online and Aion. At some point during game (could be anything between 5 minutes and hour) the game freezes and speakers start repeating annoying sound (almost always same sound).
Can you please help to understand the nature of my problem and fix it?
I have tried following:
- Run Aion as administrator
- Run Aion in WinXP SP3 compatibility mode
- Disable system notifications for all accounts
- Disable firewall
- Install native windows GPU drivers (prior I had ndvidia latest drivers)
- Use pci network card (I've read about problems with Atheros netwrok cards) and disable built-in one
- Run FurMark test for maximum PC load
- Run BurnIn test to load: CPU, GPU, RAM, Network card, Hard drive
- Disable memory remapping in bios
What I have learned:
- I usually set up burn in test to run for 6 hours. All tests before I replaced newtwork card whcih did not stress it were successful. Two of two tests which stressed newtwork card result in same freeze. After network card replacement two tests whcih also stressed network card were successful.
Whenever I try to do a scan either with McAfee or Windows Defender.. And even disk defrag. it freezes the computer
I hear a noise which i think is from the hard drive.. it sound like.. Tick, tick, tick, tick.
And when it does that I am not able to open any programs and the scan stops. But i am able to move the mouse and open the start menu.
Any Ideas?
When i try to open a application from desk top it does not open , the mouse cursor changes as if the application is trying to load the app but never loads and i am not able to perform any other function and i have to restart which does not change anything after the restart.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if you could help me out with a problem I have experienced recently. Since a week ago, my computer has started to freeze at random times, which would lead to some random applications closing such as chrome or microsoft security control. I can still use my mouse and such, but the computer would be completely unresponsive. I have tried to do clean installs, with vista, and the problem still persists. I then used windows 7 to do a clean install and the problem still occurs. And at almost every startup the CHKDSK runs. I tried updating my graphics card, and still nothing has happened.
