Custom built computer, ran on a sailor version of ultimate for a long time and had no problems. I recently double installed ultimate x64 with an upgrade dvd, and installing all the driver updates the computer would freeze constantly, sometimes even right after the login window. I installed sp1 successfully but still crashes constantly.
urn off Instant On using an Asus laptopi'm having a non-virus (i'm pretty sure i've run MBAM,Avast!, and Super anti-spyware all pro version with nothing being picked up) related problem, about a week ago my hdd started freezing constantly (after MSW auto updates,i tryed sys-restore to no avial), this is a relatively old drive (about 5 years), and then suddenly a few days ago it refused to boot the OS and then i took it to the local IT guy and he got it to boot the OS but now i've noticed that my main admin account(i'm using my spare right now) will freeze when ever i try to open a program,it is still responsive to some key commands like alt-tab, and sometimes ctrl+shift+esc, after this happens explorer.exe becomes un-responsive and i have to hard boot the machine.

Every time I turn it on, it works normally, but then it freezes every 5-10 minutes and I have to turn it off by pressing the on/off button and when I turn it on again, same thing works and then freezes.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using 7137 for a long time, and I haven't had any problems with it until yesterday. I'll be doing normal stuff, like using Chrome, etc. When I try and click an icon on my taskbar, nothing happens. I get the blue spinning wheel.
To add, I can't even use keyboard shortcuts to open up Run, Task Manager, and more.
i found my computer is freezing all the time. I have had no problems with this up to now, but it's so bad, it's impossible to do anything. After i log in, the computer will freeze after a minute or two. Doesn't matter what i'm doing. I had a problem with freezing a year ago when i used an old Saitek joystick. I deleted the drivers and software and it worked fine after that. I was using that joystick again a month ago and the computer would still run fine. However, now, it doesn't. I deleted the drivers and software related to saitek and it still freezes without fail a minute or two after startup.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI was using the Beta since Feb. with no problems whatsoever. When the time limit was up I installed the RC1. I did a freesh install, not an upgrade. Ever since the install, my display will freeze at random and the pc requires a hard reboot. I initially assumed it was a video driver issue. First, I updated all my drivers to the latest, but it kept happening. So I tried the driver for Vista, but it kept happening. Well, gaming and watching video is the main thing I do with my pc, so as is it is useless. I disabled the video driver so I could download another OS but it still freezes, even with no video driver.
I can't stay unfrozen long enough now to download a linux distro, and my XP is no good becasue it doesn't come with the drivers I need to get online, so I can't install it and update the drivers, so basically I'm screwed.
I have searched online for hours, but no real answers. Its frustrating as hell that the beta was working flawlessly, then they made me ugrade, now its broken.
ecently I have been experiencing this one issue over and over again, my internet would stop working in the middle of me using it. I would try to click on the wireless icon in the notifications bar and nothing would happen so I would then try and go to the Network and Sharing Center through the control panel and when I click on Network and Sharing Center the explorer that I am in freezes.I have looked on here to see if this is a common occurrence but I haven't been able to find anything similar to my issue.

Sometimes, I can use task manager to shut down instances of iexplore.exe*32 and it works again for a while. Sometimes, I am not allowed to close the instances with task manager as it says operationdenied.Malwarebytes returns 0 issues. I tried MS safety scanner and that also found nothing.I assume there is a virus or trojan at work here but I really don't know what else to do

View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter system boot the windows login screen appears, totally at random the user interface freezes and mouse cursor text cursor and freeze.No input of the user pass is possble, only a soft(warm)reset bij keeping the on/off button depressed for some time helps.After this the logon is mostly succesfull.Problem is not consistent , but appears at random, so is the number of resets required to get it done. Mostly once but sometimes twice or even three times.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe recently built some CAD workstation desktops and seemed to be running fine but as of two days ago one of them started freezing at seemingly random times. it froze while logged in (after working a few hours) a couple times but now consistently freezes just after the login screen (it lets me log in) when it says "welcome". The processing circle stops moving, mouse wont move etc. I have to manually restart.
It does run fine in safe mode so i ran a sweep for spyware with malwarebytes but im still having the same issue. it gave a blue screen at one point at the login screen, only time i got a blue error screen.

I have a problem with 2 Windows computers located in 2 separate locations. When I login the computer will run for 1-3 minutes and then freezes for 8-20 minutes. After it returns from it's nap everything runs normally.

when I first reported this on the Windows 7 forum about a month ago the freeze was 7-8 minutes, last time I rebooted and logged in it froze for 20 minutes.
I recently reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled windows 7 on a computer that's been having freezing problems.After I installed my display driver for my video card, I can't get past the welcome screen after I log in.I can boot up properly in safe mode, and when I disable my video card in my device manager, then I can log in fine. If i move my mouse cursor to the bottom taskbar to click start it has the loading circle. If i click anything on my desktop that wont work either. i tried several things but i dont want to fresh install as i have tons of data and files that i need to keep otherwise i would have just went ahead with the fresh install. The things i tried were
1. tried system repair, but i get this "windows cannot repair this computer automatically"
2. I just tried sfc/scannow and I got the following message: There is a system repair pending which requires a reboot to complete. Restart windows and try sfc again.
3. i then did the scanow offline command i found it said scanning and then after 20 min i get this "SFC Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation FIX''
4. Memory tool but i can't see results because as soon as i sign in it freezes
5. ctrl,alt ad del dont work screen goes black then i wait till a message pops up and click enter then it brings me back to the desktop
6. i scanned pc with avg and malawarebytes no viruses.
I called dell but my protection ran out 2 weeks ago and they want 270 for software help i really dont have that type of money as the mortgage gets taken out and im a little behind if not i would have went that option. If you need more infor write in the thread and ill try as i cant really access anything on the pc.

If I wait too long (maybe 1-2min) to login on the startup screen, the windows freezes! This never happens if I login right away and almost 100% if I wait.

Since the past few days, I've created an account for my dad as well and I'm facing some problems now.Since I've created an account for him, I cannot log in to my account on the first attempt. Got up today turned pc on freezes just after I enter my login password (i had not touched with the PC in between). I run it in safe mode, runs for 2-5 minutes then freezes. I flashed the CMOS to see if resetting the bios would work, it works to let me log in and then 2 mins later freezes just the same. Hard restart after this then turn the PC back on freezes at the login screen again. It has on occasion frozen before the login screen, ie when it shows the motherboard company logo.

I have run virus scan, malwarebytes, all of it and its showing nothing found. I saw a thread from december last year on here with a similar issue were it was suggested the person post the results from a HijackThis System scan i will do the same in my next post. I looked at it but its all jibberish to me. The only thing i can do on my PC is safe mode.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem with this laptop after changing out the ram. It's a Lenovo 3000n100, running Windows 7 32bit. ( I upgraded from Vista.)
It originally came with 1GB ram, I increased it to 2 GB. It shows in the bios as 2 and also in belarc.
After changing out the ram, about every other time I start it up, when it gets to the logon screen, the pointer is frozen. I can log in, and on the desktop it's also frozen, so I have to use the win key and arrows to restart then it starts up normally. Once in a while, when it get to the logon screen, it's just black and then I have to do a hard shut down.
I changed the ram sticks around, made sure they are seated properly and I still have this problem.
Before buying the ram, I ran the crucial advisor and bought [URL] Crucial 2GB Set(2x1GB) 200-Pin PC2 5300 667Mhz SODIMM DDR2 RAM: Electronics IRC, I didn't have this problem with the original ram 512x2. Not even sure if it's a ram problem or not, but I haven't been able to figure out what's going on.
I have also checked the intel drivers and they are up to date.
A relative is having a problem with their laptop. When I try to boot normally, I get to the login screen and it locks up and I can't move the mouse and select a user, it just freezes. When I boot in safe mode everything works properly and I'm able to login without any problems. So i was wondering if it could be a bad driver that is causing this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy systems sometimes freezes during the boot process and all I get is black screen.
This happens when the error occurs:
BIOS shows up normally
Window 7 logo is shown for a brief second
black screen
With boot details enabled, I see that drivers are getting loaded until classpnp.sys. After that the screen goes black as well and the system hangs.
Now when I turn on the machine, I get a text screen asking me whether to start normally or run a recovery attempt. Usually starting normally is all it takes and Windows boots up fine. Once Windows is up and running, it's rock solid. No lockups, no BSODs or whatsoever.
Unfortunately I have no idea how to get debug details of this part of the boot process (os loader phase?).
I already switched the SATA Ports, switched to a different brand and even switched to mSATA. So I'm pretty sure it's not the SSD. Using Windows SATA drivers or Intel RST doesn't make a difference either btw.

As of about 3 days ago my Dell Inspiron N7010 (Windows 7 Home Prem 64bit) fails to boot up. It gets to the initial Windows screen before the login screen and freezes, then sends me into Startup Repair. [code] I've tried running the diagnostics and get no error codes. I'm using Windows 7 Pro. I have remove the login pw in my user account now I do not need to do the login and able to use the computer right away. But I found I am using the computer as a user not administrator. How can I skip the login screen and go straight into desktop as administrator.
