I went through my first attempt at building my own computer about 2 months ago and the process went fine. But about a week after I began using it, I started getting BSOD that seemed happen whenever I would run a CPU intensive program (Handbrake, VMWare Player, etc). It won't always crash when running one of these, but maybe once every couple of days when running a program such as this.I've tried the following after researching online: Ran memtest86 overnight, no errors found in RAM Put in a beefier CPU cooler (ZALMAN CNPS9500A-LED 92mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler) to lower the CPU temps Reinstalled to a fresh version of Windows 7 Ran 'verifier.exe' according to the steps shown in many posts here - the result of this is that about 30-60 seconds after I login to Windows, a BSOD occurs - this is repeatable every time until I cancel the verifier program The specs of this computer are as follows: Intel Core i7 3770 processor Microsoft Windows 7 Professional x64 Antec BP550 Plus 550W Continuous Power ATX12V V2.2 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-16GBXL ASUS Sabertooth Z77 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/z USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard NVIDIA GTX GeForce 550ti (installed AFTER the BSOD started occurring) Crucial M4 2.5" 64 GB SATA III Internal SSD Seagate 300 GB HDD (don't have the exact model here) ASUS 24x DVD-RW ?
what seems to have caused it? i was just on google chrome on Internet, everything was working fine then bam, blue screen out of nowhere. attached is the dump files etc
- windows 7 x64 - full retail version of windows 7 ultimate - hardware is only 3 years old - installed windows 7 ultimate in 2011 (i think)
It had no antivirus and had never run windows update even though its always online. I fully updated windows and installed MS security essentials but blue screens happen after a few minutes of scanning. Uninstalled and tried Microsoft safety scanner msert download but this virus check also crashed the system with a blue screen.
I built this PC in February. From day one I have been getting random blue screen errors, with many different bug check and error codes. Bug check 109 seems to be the one I have seen the most. I have ran memtest on my RAM sticks, one came back clean after 8 passes, the other had errors. So I re-installed Windows with only the good RAM stick, and am still getting blue screen crashes. They are, however less frequent. I have downloaded and installed the latest drivers from the manufactures for all hardware components.
I haven't run into this much trouble setting up any of the other PCs I have built, so I am a bit lost trying to figure this out.
Here is a link to the minidump files that have been generated since my last Windows install. [URL] This is all the hardware in my system:

I've been getting a BSOD whenever I run a MSE full scan, it runs for a couple of hours and then crashes.sorry, the PassMark RAMMon wouldn't attach as an html file)
i have a feeling that there was a bsod when i had left my computer to download a file because when i came back some half an hour later, i found the error that windows has recovered from an unexpected error, plz check online for solutions....in fact today was the first time in around 2 months that i installed my windows updates, and i did them in stes of three with two batches.!st batch) KB2618451, KB2618444, Kb25720772nd batch) KB2538242, Kb2565063, KB2538243
It randomly crashes (BSOD) with what seems to be the same cause, but I cannot trace the source of the fault. In an attempt to clear the problem I removed the hard disk, connected it to another PC and re-formatted it. I then re-installed it and loaded Windows 7 anew. Still the fault persisted. Next I downloaded Memtest to check the memory (2x 1Gbt rows) and removed both and only installing 1 at a time in both slots to cover all options. Still the problem persisted. Next up I down loaded a disk checker. Nothing wrong showed up here. I removed the fan from the processors and blew it through with an airline along with the power fan. The PC is now a lot quieter, but the fault is still there. I then removed the TV card, its not that. I have had the BIOS checked and that is fully up to date. Now Im running out of options. I down loaded a Blue screen viewer so I could interpret the minidump data files as the Windbg program from Microsoft did not show much at all. All the dumps show the same problem with the same Parameter codes:
The results say the cause is either one of the following 3 drivers, but I believe that these are all windows programs and are not related the additional installed hardware: Ntfs.sys, ntkrnlpa.exe, ntoskrnl.exe. I have stored all the minidump data if that is of use to anybody. The PC is around 6 years old and below id the PC data. I've been getting a series of BSODs on my laptop recently. It appears they only occur while uTorrent is running - which is rather puzzling seeing how I've used it for months without issues and I have made no changes to it recently (it also takes some time after the start of the program for Windows to crash, so I'm not entirely sure uTorrent is really the culprit.)Incidentally I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on my 1.5 years old laptop. Windows came preinstalled and has been reinstalled by the Sony support less than 5 months ago (together with a new HD and motherboard)[CODE]
My computer freezes during a virus scan, defrag, disc check, etc. I have to manually shut down. Does it even in safe mode. Windows7 64 bit. Operates perfect otherwise.
I'm running win 7 x64 just recently updated to IE 9 and by the way I'm also running MS scurity essecitals, it was not doing this when I had IE 8. My question is I don't want my files I dl to be scanned. I went into MSE realtime protection setting and unticked scan all dl's but it's still doing it. How do I disable it ?
My laptop has suddenly seized up and I think it might be to do with a security conflict - Norton security scan appears to now be on my laptop through, I think, some vigorous pop-ups which must have got past me. I've just installed - reinstalled - AVG 2013 (no idea why I lost it in the first place) so feel reasonably protected and want to try to get rid of Norton Security Scan to see if that unblocks the slowness. But it won't uninstall, claiming always to be running.
Ive had this laptop maybe 1 month it has a 1 year warrany, my issue is it seems to be blue screening non stop, generally when i open games, i was on D3/WOW when it happens the screen goes blue and says windows has experienced an unexpected error blabla. It did stop doing it for about 2 weeks however its doing it again today however now its got a different error saying DRIVERPOWR_STATE_FAILURE when i get the BSOD. i can also hear a fan in the computer maybe the gfx card?THe bug check code was 0x00000116 the first 3 times howevr now its 0x0000009f here is the BSOD from BlueScreenView:
ive been getting BSODs and finally figured out how to debug it with WinDbg (x86) and set the symbols for windows but i cant read the text. ive tried reinstalling my GPU and Java but no luck. when i try to run intel driver update utility as soon as i run it i get a BSOD ive got the minidump here if anyone knows how to read it, so here you go.

i just freshly installed windows 7 Ultimate x64 on my system. this is the third fresh install and still it doesn't fix this, i have already fully updated my windows and drivers. the question is? some people say its the memory, but the memory is perfectly fine when im running on vista x64. i don't know how to read a dump file so just tell me where to upload it, or if you want me to compress it with winrar. also i am about to run a system check and look for some software that can validate my drivers.
I got a bsod after unistalling Kaspersky antivirus 2010, tried the removal tool but still bsod. acer aspire 5538 running a windows 7 home premium 64 bit got the instructions for posting
I get BSOD but since its kind of random i have no way of knowing if there is hardware causing it. Used SF diagnostics tool and also did CPUID screenshots as instructed and have zipped them in 1 folder. Also i have as instructed in the forum put my general system info in my profile. If need be i can do screenshots of speccy and have them attached as well. I have done memtest86+ with pass complete for both my 2 modules of corsair ddr3 4gb sticks.
i recently got a computer from my aunt, and decided to put windows 7 on it. Before I installed it, I put in a Geforce 8800 graphics card and a (2nd) cd rom drive. After 20 failed attempts to install windows 7 (it kept freezing at the completing installation part) it worked after i disconnected the new graphics card and one of the hard drives. Now, however, i keep on getting periodic blue screens with the following error messages : Memory Management, and PFN_List Corrupt. I ran a memory diagnostic and it said that the memory is fine. What is wrong with my computer? I also ran a system repair thing from the windows 7 disk, and it came up with this error: System File Integrity Check and Repair Error Code 0X490
My Hardware is:
AMD Anthlon 64 x2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ 2 Hitachi HDT725032VLA SCSI 320 gb hard drives Nvidia Geforce 8800 GS Graphics Card 3gb of system memory
I am having problems getting firewall to stay running, when try to start get 1079 code, need this to run in order to install wireless program for HP printer. Tried many options including running malware and virus programs. Maybe need to reinstall drivers for this? Will that be a complete reinstall or can it be only the drivers for the firewall,,,is it a driver issue at all?
Computer has rebooted a couple of times in the last month. Added details from event viewer and also updated dump files. Critical Error - Event ID 41 Source Kernel-PowerThe system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.
I have a Lenovo z360 laptop that runs Windows 7 Home Premium x86 on an Intel core i3 processor. When I turned it on last Friday, the Windows logo showed for around 5 minutes then the BSOD flashes. Technical information:UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME 0x000000ED (0x87E0D798, 0xC0000183). I put in a repair disk and chose to use cmd so that I can chkdsk /r C:. After it successfully checked, I decided to also chkdsk D: so I wouldn't need to go past the recovery options menu again. It took around 5 hours before my maid unplugged it while cleaning, so it died while I was eating. I charged it somewhere else when my brother discharged it to use the desktop computer. He said that it said "Deleting index entry from index $0 of ... 25" when it died again. When I booted it again, it still shows the windows logo for 5 minutes but restarts with no blue screen
A while ago I had some bluescreens with the error-code F4 which I could fix by updating the SSD firmware (from 1.3.0 to 1.3.3). But since then, I sometimes have a bluescreen with the errorcode 101. The bluescreens only appear while I'm playing Battlefield 3 or sometimes when I currently play nothing; in other situations my pc just freezes and I have to use the power button. With Google I found out, that this bluescreen is caused by an error with the processor, so I ran Prime95 and watched the temperatures with SpeedFan. The temperature of the second core was 98C so I started logging the temperature. After another bluescreen I looked in the logfile but the temperature was only around 40C. So it seems that nothing overheats (which is also proved by the fact that the bluescreens appears while nothing runs that stresses the hardware alot).
I've been getting some nasty BSOD lately. I've gotten them randomly for months every week or so, but now I can't go a few hours without it crashing.I can just turn on the computer and walk away and get a BSOD.Here are my details and attached are my zipped files.System is a 2 year old ASUS G73JH Laptop,Windows 7 Professional,Full retail version,Reinstalled OS yetserday hoping to fix these BSOD,Reinstalled all my drivers fresh off the ASUS website for my laptop,Updated the OS with all current patches,The one driver I couldn't get to load was for Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter. And even if I disable it, I still get BSOD. I also tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it.
My OS is Windows 7 Home Edition 64bit. Recently I'm learning to make videos and my routine is editing the raw file in Windows Movie Maker then adding some effects to it in Adobe After Effects. I've been doing fine for months until suddenly the blue screen appeared. At first the problem only occurred occasionally when I tried to import to or export from WMM. But then it happened more and more often even when I was doing nothing until it reached the point where my computer couldn't even make it to windows anymore. I took my friend's advice and reinstall windows but that didn't fix the problem.
