View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I connect my external hdd, it tells me that this device could work faster if I connect it to a Hi-Speed USB port. When I try to copy any files, transfer starts at about 70mb/s and stops after a few seconds, time left is calculating and when it starts again the speed is about 1.5mb/s. Sometimes pc doesn't find the hdd at all. I've installed the latest chipset drivers but nothing new happened.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy desktop appears to be running on speed!I switched it on, and that startup screen with the four coloured windows logo, is flashing like mad. The next screen I get is the password screen. On here, the cursor is spinning like mad. When I try to enter the password, pressing the first letter fills the input box with characters. I don't know whether this is the character I have just entered, although I guess it is. If I try to delete the characters, pressing backspace deletes all characters in the input box. Pressing the first character goes through it all agaiin.I now have a desktop that I can't get into because of this. Nothing new has been added...software or hardware. Everything has functioned as normal prior to this.

'm a 3D artist, and I'm currently rendering out a whole load of frames. I'm using a reasonable, Sony Vaio laptop for the task, which has an Intel i7-720QM, however I'd like to know what CPU speed it's currently operating at.I know that it says it runs at 1.6Ghz as standard but then can ramp up to 2.8Ghz, I just wondered if it truly was going at that speed whilst it's rendering.

Yesterday I installed RC1 of Windows 7 on my HP 6910p. After install I immediately noticed that the notebook makes much more fan noise then under Windows XP.
The fan seems to be running constantly and whenever I seem to do something a bit graphical it goes at full speed.
Are there any other (HP 6910p) users that have the same experience?
Is there something I can do / tweak to make my notebook quite again.
I have already disabled the superfetch however this only reduces the HDD activity.
i using mada internet connection now speed is very slow?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI went through my first attempt at building my own computer about 2 months ago and the process went fine. But about a week after I began using it, I started getting BSOD that seemed happen whenever I would run a CPU intensive program (Handbrake, VMWare Player, etc). It won't always crash when running one of these, but maybe once every couple of days when running a program such as this.I've tried the following after researching online: Ran memtest86 overnight, no errors found in RAM Put in a beefier CPU cooler (ZALMAN CNPS9500A-LED 92mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler) to lower the CPU temps Reinstalled to a fresh version of Windows 7 Ran 'verifier.exe' according to the steps shown in many posts here - the result of this is that about 30-60 seconds after I login to Windows, a BSOD occurs - this is repeatable every time until I cancel the verifier program The specs of this computer are as follows: Intel Core i7 3770 processor Microsoft Windows 7 Professional x64 Antec BP550 Plus 550W Continuous Power ATX12V V2.2 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-16GBXL ASUS Sabertooth Z77 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/z USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard NVIDIA GTX GeForce 550ti (installed AFTER the BSOD started occurring) Crucial M4 2.5" 64 GB SATA III Internal SSD Seagate 300 GB HDD (don't have the exact model here) ASUS 24x DVD-RW ?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just want to be able to increase the speed of my fans beyond their spec, and have complete manual control over their RPMs without a care about the temps. I have a liquid cooling setup and the fans on my radiator as they are right now simply aren't cutting it. I have them hooked up to the motherboard in hopes of finding something to just boost their speed via software, but SpeedFan is the only thing I could find and it simply sucks for that purpose.

I'm just installed windows 7 on my 2009 imac through bootcamp. However there are some problems. Ive noticed when i try to play something on windows media player it will tell me that my computer is running low on memory and to close some windows. Also games run poorly if at all. I suspect its a driver issue but have gone through all the auto updates etc.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAs I shutdown/restart my laptop, I notice it switches to a secondary desktop that has been running programs.A good example would be trying to open my Task Manager, I can Ctrl-Alt-Del and it will allow me to open Task Manager - however when I click on Task Manager, it opens on the Desktop running in the background. I can't even access the Desktop in the background, it only shows up as I'm shutting down - closing programs that I tried opening awhile ago.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was told my ram would be 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM Corsair or Major Brand, and I downloaded CPU-Z, and this is what I got from it.
it is DDR3, Module Size: 2048 MB, Max Bandwidth: PC3-10700H (667 MHz), Manufacturer: A-Data Technology.
Does this mean that it is not 1333 MHz, i mean it seems so obvious, but I am just checking if I was lied to or not.

After reading through many posts, I downloaded HD Tune to check speeds. I have my 3.0 WD hard drive and my 2.0 seagate drive both plugged into the 3.0 pci-express card.
WD 3.0 drive average transfer rate = 36MB/s
seagate 2.0 drive average transfer rate = 36MB/s
my internal hard drive average transfer rate = 69MB/s
The pci-e card is showing up as usb 3.0 is device manager..why I'm not getting any speed boost with my new card and hard drive?
I have a dell lattitude lap top running windows 7. I had picked up a virus that seemed to shake up norton AV. I think I have it settled, but still can not have anyone webex in. Norton did not think this was the virus and suggest I search the OS or whatnot. Before reinstalling Windows 7, is there a program I can run similar to the old scan disk, to check for errors?
