When I uninstall Kaspersky Internet Security 2010, my gadgets go corrupt (e.g. I can only see a black box with the clock gadget, I can only see an info icon with the weather gadget, I can't see the calendar even if it is on my desktop before uninstalling KIS 2010) and TuneUp Utilities 2010 also gets corrupt because I can't access the Start Center and I can't open WMP 12 because it's corrupted too. So I have to do a System Restore to restore the corrupt stuff and restore KIS 2010 as well but I want to switch to Avira and I can't switch to Avira because of this.
I'm trying to uninstall/reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2005-2008-2010 but a window pops up saying "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable." "Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'vcredist' in the box below." I went to my C:UsersLarAppDataLocalTempIXP001.TMP but it didn't work all it says is "The file 'C:UsersLarAppDataLocalTempIXP001.TMP' is not a valid installation package for the product Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable. Try to find the installation package 'vcredist.msi' in a folder from which you can install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable." Mind you it does this for any version I try to uninstall So I rebooted and tried again but the Temp folder wasn't there which was to be expected but now I can't find any vcredist.msi on my computer and it does the same thing in safe mode
My computer had been shut down for a few days. When I came back and booted back up, I noticed that AVG was no longer running. I couldn't seem to get it to start, so I tried uninstalling it since I had the 2012 version anyway, so I could update to 2013 and hopefully fix the problem. Every time I try to uninstall, I get a BSOD. Every time I try to install the new version, I also get a BSOD.
I haven't installed anything new or added new hardware, so the only thing I can think of is the latest AVG update did something. The last new program I installed was Guild Wars 2, but that was weeks ago (with no issues). At first I thought maybe this was a virus, but it looks like this is a common issue? Files attached.
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit (original OS)The laptop is about 2 years now. I've tried re-installing office and it worked but then it blue screened again yesterday during an event we were having. I just also had a blue screen a while ago when restarting the system
I just changed out my President's XP-Pro to Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.We store all of our Word & Excel docs on a 6.5 Netware server.Yes it's old and out of date - but it cost money to change it. so.....I had no problems ever with XP but with Windows 7 when you open a Excel file it ive the old BSOD.It may not do it every time, sometimes I have to open, close a couple of times and then it happens.I have no other problems in connecting to the Netware server.BTW - I'm using the Novell Cient 2 SP2 for windows 7
Whenever I try to run the Kaspersky Pure anti-virus, nothing happens. I tried to uninstall it so I can reinstall it. But uninstalling the program is not possible, too. The window is just there but the green bar isn't moving for hours. So I have no choice but to forcibly close the uninstall window. How can I make this anti-virus work again?

We just bought a HP Dv4 with Windows Vista Home Premium with the option to upgrade to Windows 7. We choose Windows 7 Professional and upgraded the notebook. We have Kaspersky Lab Enterprise on our server with 25 users. Now Kaspersky 2009 is saying it is not compatible with Windows 7. Any solutions?
I am trying to upgrade from Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Home Premium and I am getting an error saying the installation cannot continue because Kaspersky anti-virus is stopping the process. It asks me to look for it in the Control Panel and uninstall it.
Now, I would be happy to do so, but as far as I know, I have never installed Kaspersky AV, nor does it appear in the programs to uninstall. I have seen that there are a few people around who have had this problem, but I have seen to resolution to it, other than suggesting that a clean install be done. Obviously I can do that, but I really want to avoid it. I have too much stuff I'd have to re-install.
I have tried disabling other virus programs (as far as I know, I only have one provided by my ISP). I disabled Windows Defender. I also banged my head against a wall.
Anyone seen this? Why would it think a program is there, when it is not.

I am having some trouble with utorrent and getting an open port, I narrowed the problem to either windows firewall or kaspersky 8 or even both. If i disable firewall and kaspersky I can get an open port, but once I turn them on utorrent slows down indicating the port is not open. I have included utorrent as allowed in widows firewall but same problem. Has anyone had same prob or got some advice on what I should try?

Is MS Essential enough to be secure or do you need a 3th party software like Eset or Kaspersky? I know that MS Essential does only once a day update but i wonder if the pay software is really that much better. For some years i used Linux and software wasn't necessary. On Windows on the other hand you do need protection.
I just run a virus scan and it found 4 files called NotAVirus.adware although I did notice it ended .win32 (this could be to deter people from removing it?). I decided to just run the recommended setting of deleting them and then automatically run a clean up afterwards. I attempted to access my internet using Netgear wireless smart wizard and it said it was unable to run the task, I attempted to connect through my network and sharing center and it said the page file was missing then windows posted a bad image message. My computer is pretty new (about 3 months). I've restarted and everything seems to be fine now. A cache error?
