i just want to know when i want to format my primary hard drive (c: volume) to windows vista 32 bit i select format this drive and it takes about 2 second is this possible? because its relly deleted all (i rememmber full format in windows xp that took some time at least 45 minutes)

I tried to load the drivers for my printer which seem to load ok but then I get the message "usb2.0 mfp (high speed) device found" and I don't know what to do next as windows update carnt find the driver.

However, I did not get its IE8 since it was optional and I didn't want it yet. It does not offer me a SP2. Why is that? I read it can be picky on drivers and stuff, but which ones? Do I really have to get every driver and updates from Acer.com? I know I can get the stand alone SP2, but I would like to know why Windows Update is refusing to give me SP2.
View 9 Replies View Relatedi have a pavilliion dv6000t, intel cpu laptop...anyhow...i look at the device manager, under intel pro 100, and 3945 intel wirles...it does not say device is running properly.....i have this stated-windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. the driver may be corrupted or missing (code 39) there are exclamation points besides everything in the networking adapter in device manager. what might be the problem here...is it the drivers for the 2 devices?

I don't know how reformatting an actual reader would affect the device since every one at the Sony forum has only reformat their memory from the actual reader that has a reformat memory, you lose your books but all the Sony applications that runs the reader are still intact. Since I got this error, I've reformatted via the actual reader and still every time I plug my reader in my USB port, I get this error. USB Mass Storage Device Access is denied" I found a KB article which seems to be related, but even after acquiring and installing the hotfix I still can't get the drive to install. View 4 Replies View RelatedSince migrating to Windows Mail a year ago on a new PC running Vista, I've been unable to open, or to save and open, email attachments received in .pdf or .jpg format. When I try to open .pdf attachments, I get an error message reading, "This
file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations control panel." If I save a .pdf attachment in Adobe Reader and then try to open it, I get a message saying, "Adobe Reader could not open [file] because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)." I run Adobe Reader 8. Where do I look to find a solution to this problem? Is it related to the similar problem with JPEG's?
My vista keeps locking up after various amounts of time, no matter whether its just idling, or im making the computer work hard. As ive read on other topics, I think its a driver issue, but I just dont know what to do. I will try another fresh vista install tomorrow and get the vista updates quickly to see whether that helps the situation. I have ensured it isnt overheating like it did initially when I bought the system, and it is now a safe and low temperature in a running state. Ive re-installed, windows, and it froze after I installed the chipset driver. I contiuned, and found a sound driver wasnt digitally signed. However it still crashes. I have got the latest drivers for it. For it to crash, all i did was open recycle bin, from idle state.
I plugged in the USB cable to install, but I get the error message: "Windows cannot find driver software." I tried the 'Add Printer' function, and while it adds the printer, I am still unable to print anything. I keep getting an error message.
I do not have the disk for the printer, so I can't install the software that way. When I plug in the USB, it appears in the Device Manager as Other Devices, Unknown Device rather than in the USB list. When I check the properties for the Unknown Device, I get this message:......
i just bought My Book Essential 1 TB today... and when i got home i plug it and it works just fine but its bothering me that the HDD type is FAT32 .. so i format it and try to change it to NTFS.. but somethings happen and boom the electric in my apartment was down... and so when the electric back i want to format it again but i can't... there drive is detected but with no space detail... it says "Windows can't format Drive H: - Check to see that the disk and drive are connected properly, make sure that the disk is not read-only, and then try again.
For more information, search Help for read-only files and how to change them" when i open the Disk Management from (My COmputer > Manage) it seems it's already a volume.. but the weird thing there is no space detail.. and i cant erase the volume ... i've tried using diskpart but i can't do nothing because there is no volume and i can't erase the disk... no luck with fsutil cause its not ntfs... I havent tried 3rd party software and i havent tried it on other computer (don't have other computer right now) and WDC didnt give live cd for formatting because all of them was in the drive... though i already redownload it but the program is useless..
Have my system built and everything seems ok. Post is good with no errors. Only (1) HDD and DVD connected now. During windows Vista 64 installation I eventually get the message "WINDOWS COULD NOT FORMAT A PARTITION ON DISK 0. THE ERROR OCCURRED WHILE PREPARING THE PARTION SELECTED FOR INSTALLATION. ERROR CODE 0x80070057". Do I need to update BIOS? HDD & DVD/CD show in BIOS as SATA 1 & SATA 2 by there names. So they are being recognized.

Had to upgrade to a new PC, and most every new PC comes with Vista pre-installed, no options for XP. I try hooking up my 2 year old scanner - no Vista driver. I try hooking up a webcam a friend gave me - no Vista driver. So the whole purpose of upgrading to Vista was so I could go out and buy all new hardware!! This will be my last PC with a microsoft OS.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI wanted to remove my NVIDIA old drivers(175.19) and replace it with 177.79. Used DriverSweeper 1.5.5, and this lovely program caused me nothing but headaches. Anyways, after this I installed 177.79(I think I was supposed to reboot, yes?) Now I can't even install any video driver(except for what Vista did automatically, but they are not the newest ones). On top of this NVIDIA driver 177.79 tells me I am using a 32bit OS?? I can assure you I am using 64 bit. I have attached some screenshots.

The first time I started playing with it, games and such, I had sound but I stupidly put in the CD that came with the computer that apparently is only for reinstalling. Now I have no sound. I went to the Gateway download site and downloaded a driver that said it was compatible to my computer but it doesn't work. The little speaker at the bottom right shows a red X but my control panel area shows that it is working properly.
