Windows Found Driver Software For Your Device But Encountered An Error ..

I have a new WD external hard drive that I'm trying use with Vista Ultimate, but when I connect the drive I get an error message saying,
"Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it. USB Mass Storage Device Access is denied" I found a KB article which seems to be related, but even after acquiring and installing the hotfix I still can't get the drive to install. KB Article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/937187 How can I fix this? It's very frustrating a bit ridiculous that installing a simple mass storage device fails.

i have a pavilliion dv6000t, intel cpu laptop...anyhow...i look at the device manager, under intel pro 100, and 3945 intel wirles...it does not say device is running properly.....i have this stated-windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. the driver may be corrupted or missing (code 39) there are exclamation points besides everything in the networking adapter in device manager. what might be the problem here...is it the drivers for the 2 devices?
I'm having a problem with Windows Vista Home Premium, whenever I go to select a profile "Administrator" or "AL". AL gives me a black screen with an error message "Windows Explorer has encountered and error and had to close", it also says "Host Process has encountered and error and needs to close", after opening Task Manager. If I try to open explorer.exe through Task Manager, it stops working, and I can't get anything else working either it just has the same problem.
I have tried to download the support ware as suggested and get a message "Installer encountered an error 0x8007000d. I have tried everything I can think of for 4 days. I do not believe I should pay $60 for help from the people who are responsible for this fiasco. Toshiba will not help with this. Microsoft tells me my PID was entered wrong.....I copied it right off the computer. Am I at the end of the trail here - should I just throw the darn computer out the window? It is a 2007 Toshiba A215 -S4757 laptop.....hardly
when trying view web videos on vista i keep getting this error message which i have never had before. Windows Media Player cannot play the file. I installed microsoft office 97(I found the CD) on my vista and each time i try to insert a picture or some clipart it will say" The clip Gallery Encountered and Error. Try restarting Windows or reinstalling microsoft office applications." and then it will stop responding and not save my work
I have had recent problems installing external hd's on Vista 64. I have run into problems with USB2.0 as well as eSATA. The drive will appear under the device manager under "disk drives". But it triggers the new harware wizard, which can't load a driver, which leads to an unknown device being listed. Even when the unknown device is listed the drive still appears under "disk drives".
The drive will appear under disk manager, but it is unaccesable. You can remove the partition but can not change the drive letters or format or create a new partition through the wizard. The wizard will go through the motions and then the Drive manager has a message asking to refresh or restart the console which has no effect...............
Attempting a clean install Vista 32 full OS (not an upgrade) on the below rig. Previously loaded XP without trouble. Now the following message.
"A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or a USB flash drive, please insert it now. Note: the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step."
I have tried loading XP again and Vista with the same message. Attempting to access the CD unsuccessful.
I have tried disconnecting the LG drive and using the Sony, same error message. LG has no drivers on site stated they are embedded in Vista...
I made the mistake of plugging my Wacom pen tablet in before installing the driver. Vista recognised the device and installed a default driver which does not work. The Driver installation disk will not install untill the default driver is uninstalled. How do i do this?
Dear vista heads i am having a problem running the game call of duty 2 on windows vista premium my OS version because i am getting an error that reads and i quote "DirectX(R) encountered an unrecoverable error".Is there anything at all you can do to solve it or even get around around for the game to run
I just bought the Plextor AV200U, and it wasn't supported on my 64-bit Vista platform. So my question is: has anyone found a really good video capturing device in a tiny format? If it works with Premiere Pro then that's even more fantastic.
Just got a new laptop and trying to get my invoicing program up and running again. The computer keeps telling me that it could not configure pdf driver(Error: -8). Is this a Vista issue or other and if other, could someone please point me in the right direction?
I am running Vista SP1 and want to mirror the HDD in a RAID 1 configuration. I have purchased 2 HDD with the same specifications and copied the existing partition onto one of them. The system is booting into Vista well until I enable the on board nForce3 250 RAID controller and I get an error that it is unable to find an operating system. The RAID driver is installed under Windows and is recognised in Device Manager. I suspect it is an issue with one of the boot files i.e. boot.ini.
I have 2 PC, one with Vista Home Basic, and one with XP pro. I use a VPN connection to log into a win 2003 server on work. Everything works ok with the XP pro PC. I use a bat file to map a path on the server, but on the Vista PC I get error 53 (path not found) and it is impossible to map the path. I can ping the server by IP from both PC's.
Trying to install a program here. It included a DirectX 9 install which I canceled. Running Vista64 Ultimate here. The program dies on start with an error - d3dx9.dll is not found. The developers website says it needs DX9 and that users of DX10 / Vista need not worry as both 9 and 10 sit side by side in the same install. Can anyone confirm this is correct. I'd prefer to NOT mess with my DX10 configuration.
I have been getting bluescreen previously and did a test using MEMTEST86+ and found error. So I sent my Laptop to HP Center and they checked the RAM and found that there is no problem with the RAM and Harddisk. So they replaced the motherboard, after that I reformatted my laptop and reinstalled Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 with all latest updates and I checked using MEMTEST86+ again (boot version) and no error found.
Its the third day reinstalled my OS with latest driver and bios, now I am still getting bluescreen. Even the technician at the HP center blamed my Windows previously but I already reformatted my laptop. Why am I still getting bluescreen?

I've been getting the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL BSOD for the last couple weeks. Lately it's down to a couple times per hour. horrible.error Description: Windows detected a new device attached to your computer, but could not find the driver software it needs to make the device usable. Each device manufacturer typically includes driver software of a CD that comes with the device, or as a download from its website. The hardware ID of your device is ACPIATK0110. the "ACPIATK0110" device seems to be my ASUS motherboard (ASUS M2A-VM AM2 AMD 690G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard). It was a home-built computer, so I still have the disc (But it was built properly, I've had it 2 years and this is the first problem). Anywho, I ran the disc to update the drivers... it said the drivers were installed... maybe 45 minutes later, it crashed. I went to the ASUS web site to get the most up-to-date drivers... crashed again within an hour.
So, considering that this happens after an hour or so of use (not during start up), on a system that's been running fine for quite some time... can it be anything other than my motherboard just being fried? I thought about throwing out a reformat just in case... but of course I can find my legit windows XP disc... but no sign of the CD key that makes it worth anything. (The person who built the computer put Vista on it, and I can't get ahold of him for the CD key he used... he wisely didn't give it to me, because I'd have lost it anyway).

my computer notifies me of error 3 which is panda process protection service. this service isnt starting. when i try to start it it is missing a device. i cant find or download this device.

I run Windows Vista Home Premium (32). I've used my HP Photosmart C4280 printer for about 2 years, worked fine for the most part. Lately I started having problems, so I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver & software (got the latest versions from HP download site). Since reinstall, my scanner isn't working. Whether I press the "Scan" button on the unit, or I select "Scan picture" or "Scan document" from the HP Solution Center, an error pops up: "An error occurred communicating with the scanning device. Please ensure that the printing device is properly connected and try again".
Also, I've uninstalled/reinstalled the drivers/software several times, cleaned temporary files and registry, still the problem persists. Having said that, the printing/copying works fine, so I know that the printer is properly connected. BTW, tried connecting the same printer to a friend's PC running Windows XP and it scans with no problem, so the issue must have something to do with HP interacting (non-interacting) with Vista.
I upgraded to Vista two days ago and then had the "no audio device found" problem. After trying several different things, I located a SigmaTel HD Audio Codec through Dell (I have a Dell Diminsion E510 w/Zylux speakers). Now, the "no audio device found" seems to be fixed--in that the little red box with the x is gone, and the volume indicator shows the volume is going up and down when I'm testing. Of course, I still can't hear any sound. I'm at a loss. I've unplugged the speakers several time (they make a nice humming when I plug them back in so I don't think they're the problem). I've rebooted so many times I've lost count.
My problem is with my Lightscribe drive. Yes, I know there are threads elsewhere dealing with the drives, but I'm in a bit of an unusual situation, very similar to this one, but not exactly. My drive is NOT recognized as a Lightscribe drive. More accurately, all of my labeling software (Sure Thing, Roxio, Lightscribe, Essentials, etc.) all report the same thing - "no Lightscribe device/drive found". They lie! Up until as recently as 3 weeks ago, the drive was working fine. Then, a few days ago, right after Windows sent out all of those updates in one day (about 15 on the 10th of December), I tried to make a label and it said "Lightscribe device not found"............
am using windows mail with Vista home premium. When there is an embedded link in an email I cannot open it. It gives an error message of application not found.
I'm not sure if I have something is blocked or I don't have something or something. But say If I get an email with a link to some site and I click on it , I get an error "Application not found" ... my internet explorer works fine... not sure what's wrong
I am trying to open jpeg image files from a CD on my new Vista PC laptop and it is not working. I think I burned them on a Mac - there is a small red Apple icon on the disc drive icon. I can see the jpeg files in the disc folder but can't open them by double-clicking the jpeg icons - nothing happens. I can't import them into Windows Photo Gallery. When I drag and drop them into Photoshop, it just opens blank white jpeg of the same dimensions. If I try to open them from within Photoshop, I get the error message: "A device attached to the system is not functioning". I can't copy the files onto my computer. I can open the images in Windows XP and Windows 2000, just not Vista. I assume the problem is because the discs were burned on a Mac (I could be wrong).
I've had my new computer built for 3 days now. Ever since i have had it i have had no sound. I've searched endless forums looking for ppl who have had similar problems trying to resolve mine.But no luck so i finally gave up and decided to write about it. so the problem is the error that hunts my new pc "No Audio Output Device is Installed"my audio is realtek hd audio-yes, i have tryed installing the driver from my motherboard disc and yes i have trying getting updated drivers.this does not help the reason when i go to device manager i have no Sound, video, and game controllers tab!
i just want to know when i want to format my primary hard drive (c: volume) to windows vista 32 bit i select format this drive and it takes about 2 second is this possible? because its relly deleted all (i rememmber full format in windows xp that took some time at least 45 minutes)
