I just bought the Plextor AV200U, and it wasn't supported on my 64-bit Vista platform. So my question is: has anyone found a really good video capturing device in a tiny format? If it works with Premiere Pro then that's even more fantastic.
View 5 RepliesI have been wanting to buy a video capture device to put my VHSs on my computer and have decided the time is now. I have looked at the Dazzle Video Creator Platinum and am happy with the reviews but it doesn't have 64 bit drivers. So would do you guys recommend to me? If I have to I can buy the dazzle and just use it with my old xp machine but I would like one that I can use with my vistax64. I guess a tv tuner would also work but what software would I use to record and seperate one video stream in to two files?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have Vista preminm with 3 gig of ram. I installed Dazzle video creator platinum. I installed reccommended updates from Pinnacle. Whenever I start Instant DVD recorder and select Dazzle 170 as the capture device I get the blue screen and it restarts my puter,EVERY TIME. Does anyone know how to fix this.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with the the capture of my video into Windows Movie Maker. I have now recaptured the video again after ensuring that all othe programmes on the computer are disabled, however the problem still persists. During the actual capture process the video runs at normal speed and there are no fluctuations in the speed during that process. I do notice that the capture display on the computer tends to stop and start from time to time, but I believe this is normal and does not indicate a problem.
Once the capture is complete and I play back scenes from my capture, then the speed of the playback varies all the time, sometimes running faster than original capture and again slower at other times. I am sure that I have read somewhere that this is not abnormal during the video editing phase. However the problem arises in that once you publish the video these speed variations are written into the published video and subsequently transfered to the DVD.
Im looking for a (hopefully cheap) video capture card, but here is the thing.
1. It needs to be vista64 compatible, and
2. Needs to be able to interface to a hi8 camcorder (aka s-video and rca audio)
I dont care if its an internal card, or a simple usb cable, as long as i can capture my soon to be deteriorated hi8 data. Im having trouble finding anything compatible with vista let alone vista64.
I have an analog capture card, and am wondering what the optimal specs (frame rate, resolution) for capturing video would be, both for S-Video and the Red-White-Yellow cables.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI know this is a repetitive topic, but I can not seem to figure this one out. It is a HP Laptop DV9815nr. I do not know much about it as it is not mine, but the problem is the audio was cutting out and now there is nothing. The computer is not recognizing any type of audio device installed. Even in Device Manager, there is no option for Sound, game and controllers. I have tried downloading the driver and installing, but no luck there.

"Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it. USB Mass Storage Device Access is denied" I found a KB article which seems to be related, but even after acquiring and installing the hotfix I still can't get the drive to install. New build with clean install of Vista Ultimate 64 Sp1 and the 4870x2 is not recognized by the device manager. Since it is not recognized I can not install any display drivers or CCC. Card is seated properly. Power supply is 1200 watt Xigmatek. Bios is the latest release 0408.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy first post here and unfortunately I'm posting because I've stumbled right into some technical issues with this fresh desktop build.
First off, comp specs so we know what we're dealing with:
MOBO: ECS P55H-A Black Edition
CPU: Intel i7 860
PSU: BFG 800W
Graphics Card: POWERCOLOR AX4870 (two of them)
OS: Vista Home Premium x64
I have everything hooked up properly and can verify both PCI-E slots are working and both video cards are working as I've tested them all separately. I'm using the latest CCC and drivers available.
I initially hooked up just one card, then loaded Windows and it detected it just fine, so I installed the drivers. Everything was just fine, so I shut down and installed the second GPU and hooked it up and attached both Crossfire bridges to the two cards. Nothing I have done since will cause the card to show up. I tried removing the bridges and rebooting also to no avail.
I upgraded to Vista two days ago and then had the "no audio device found" problem. After trying several different things, I located a SigmaTel HD Audio Codec through Dell (I have a Dell Diminsion E510 w/Zylux speakers). Now, the "no audio device found" seems to be fixed--in that the little red box with the x is gone, and the volume indicator shows the volume is going up and down when I'm testing. Of course, I still can't hear any sound. I'm at a loss. I've unplugged the speakers several time (they make a nice humming when I plug them back in so I don't think they're the problem). I've rebooted so many times I've lost count.

Yes, I know there are threads elsewhere dealing with the drives, but I'm in a bit of an unusual situation, very similar to this one, but not exactly. My drive is NOT recognized as a Lightscribe drive. More accurately, all of my labeling software (Sure Thing, Roxio, Lightscribe, Essentials, etc.) all report the same thing - "no Lightscribe device/drive found". They lie! Up until as recently as 3 weeks ago, the drive was working fine. Then, a few days ago, right after Windows sent out all of those updates in one day (about 15 on the 10th of December), I tried to make a label and it said "Lightscribe device not found"............
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble getting my USB EasyCap Video Capture to work on my HP laptop running Vista Home Premium X 32 bit. The Ulead software appears to be installed ok. I wonder, if the driver on the Ulead disk any good? I read that maybe an Stk1160 driver should replace the old driver.(?) When I try to use this through the TV, I get the message "no signal found". The Ulead disk is dated 2006. Is there an update to this disk?

Why is it, that we cannot capture HDV video via FireWire with Vista? If I have a HDV tape in my camera (A canon xh-a1), and I turn it into VCR mode, Vista makes a chime, but the autoplay does not pop up. I cannot capture using Premiere or Sony Vegas. It says there's no camera connected.
If I have a regular DV tape in my camera, and I hit play on that tape so the signal changes to regular DV, then windows chimes and the autoplay box pops up! I can then capture regular DV with Premiere or Vegas.
I didn't buy the $3000 HDV camera to capture standard-def though. It's why I also built my Vista box as well. There is a third party program called HDVSplit that allows you to capture HDV with no preview.
Adobe, and Sony, and Canon, say that it's a problem with the Vista fire wire drivers. Asus also points at Microsoft's fire wire drivers for Vista.
The question is: Why hasn't Microsoft issued updated firewire drivers in the last 3 or 4 years? This problem is widespread. Google it! It's everywhere.
If anyone knows of any third-party FireWire drivers that fix the problem, I'm all ears.
I'm using Vista Ultimate x64 and want to capture a small sound bite from a MP3 track to use as a 'phone ring tone, but i can't figure out how to do it. Can anyone advise me which program i need or if there's something in Vista to do the job?
View 4 Replies View RelatedCan not get my HP 7400 scanner to work after upgrading to Vista Ultimate 32 bit. Not the hardware - works fine under XP pro using same hardware configuration. Did a clean install, installed motherboard BIOS updates, scanner BIOS updates, Vista updates and the correct driver from HP. The scanner installed and Device Manager says device is working properly. When I try to scan, scanner initializes, starts to scan then locks up. Then can no longer be seen. ASUS M2N-E motherboard with AMD dual core. Other than that Vista works OK with the rest of my system
View 9 Replies View Relatedi have installed the correct driver for this belkin bluetooth usb dongle model: F8T012XX1 but in device manager, it has the belkin device and microsoft bluetooth enumerator, which is great. but when u get further down the list. it has a tab named "other devices" and then a subtab with "bluetooth peripheral device" which has an exclemation mark on it. i have searched for driver software using the update service but it cant find no update. i have looked for the name of the manufacturer but found nothing.i then disabled the unknown device, and sent a picture to my mobile phone. which confirmed that it was not the belkin bluetooth device. so i uninstalled the unknown device, restarted the computer. then when i logged in, it said that it had found a new device and wanted me to find the CD that came with it.

I am using Debut Video Capture Software, by NCH Software, to capture You Tube videos. That is not the problem. My problem is sending them out as attachments. Output formats available are : avi, asf, wmv, mpg, 3gp, mp4 or mov. So far, and I have not tried all formats , mp4 is the one with the smallest size, small enough to e-mail as attachment. But it has to be played in RealPlayer. My recipients have Windows Media Player, and wmv format is too big in size, about almost 10 times larger than mp4.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm running Home Premium 64 on a Sony Vaio Laptop (CS170F). I'm having a curious problem: Yesterday I plugged into the machine the dongle of my wireless logitech mouse, and for some reason the machine said "Your unknown device is ready to use" (my OS is in spanish, the messages may not be accurately translated). Since then, an annoying message pops every few seconds warning about an "unrecognized USB device", that "didn't work as expected". The best part is this, if I click on the tray icon, sometimes the informative dialog window is emply, an other times shows all the USB ports in the system plus one extra with a "unknown UBS device", even without any device plugged into the system. I've tryed removing the unknown device from the device manager, but it shows up again.
I have tried two different programs. The vid starts to capture, showing the preview, then everything stops (preview wise and capture wise). Video drivers? Bad fire wire?

Installation of any USB mouse would show a new "USB Human Interface Device" in Device Manager but it just won't work. Installation of the very same model of my original mouse didn't work neither. I have a quad-boot Intel CoreDuo machine with 4 GB of memory and an ATI AIW X1900 Radeon (multi-booting courtesy of EasyBCD). To put the matter as quickly as possible, all four systems (Vista 32, Vista 64, XP, and Ubuntu) have been happily coexisting for a long time. I haven't used Vista 64 for about 10 days and went in to do some work on it this morning. To my surprise, the video disappeared immediately after the green startup wait indicator. Eventually, after about the usual amount of time and hard disk activity, the startup sound came on but absolutely no video. I restored my full backup of the Vista 64 partition from last Sunday=97 same problem!
I went in on safe mode but it is impossible to change video settings or install new drivers in safe mode so that was a dead end. I tried the repair utility that comes with Vista but it could find no problem with startup. My working hypothesis is that something has gone wrong with the video drivers although that may not be the case. Even if it were, I can think of no way of fixing it short of completely rebuilding the Vista 64 system checked desperately do not want to do
who has purchased a JVC Everio HDD video camera has probably learned that they chose to use some god forsaken proprietary video format - the .MOD extension. Apparently this is some sort of MPEG2 encoding, however, most major video editing suites prefer not to accept this format? what we need is something more common? such as .AVI or .MPG. I would be happy with the .MOD file format if the software that came with the JVC Everio actually worked.
