Analog Capture Card And Optimal Spaces (frame Rate, Resolution) For Capturing Video
Apr 29, 2009
I have an analog capture card, and am wondering what the optimal specs (frame rate, resolution) for capturing video would be, both for S-Video and the Red-White-Yellow cables.
I have a Pavilion a6460a. It appears to have a Geforce 8500 GT 512mb Video card. There is no Analog connection. I need to run two monitors, 1 digital and 1 analog. Will the Dual Link DVI with some kind of an adaptor run these two monitors?
1 NO? 2 Inadvisable? (I don't know what "Dual Link means") 3 I need to change my video card
Im looking for a (hopefully cheap) video capture card, but here is the thing.
1. It needs to be vista64 compatible, and 2. Needs to be able to interface to a hi8 camcorder (aka s-video and rca audio)
I dont care if its an internal card, or a simple usb cable, as long as i can capture my soon to be deteriorated hi8 data. Im having trouble finding anything compatible with vista let alone vista64.
since i formated and reinstalled vista home primium 32 for the first time with this pc im getting very low frame rates on most games. they are fine for about 5mins and then the frame rate drops to 5-20 fps for a short time, afterwards its fine for 10secs only to drop again. ive noticed it on some streaming videos too but not in Internet. ive tried...reinstalling, installing xp, using older drivers, using new ones, checked the fan are working, downloaded system monitors, took a stick of ram out, swapped all the ramround, tried playing with no sound, messed around with the dna settings, turned graphics down and a few other things thats not coming to mind.
When I play Dundeons & Dragons Online my framerate varies between 20-60 in populated places and 100+ only if I stare at the walls. This seems too low. I was getting better framerates running XP on a AMD 3800+ x2 with a 7600GS. I've tried the nVidia 169.25 drives and the 171.20 betas from guru. Not much difference.
Is this a Vista 64 problem that will be fixed with SP!?..... or Is this an nVidia driver problem that will be fixed with later drivers.......or Is my power supply too weak?.......... or Is DDO the problem?.......... or Are my expectations too high?
just got some games loaded and I used to have ATITray Tools which would let you keep the frame rate and temps in the corner during game play, anything like that for Nvidia? Just ran Quake4 at full specs and had Nvidia performance control panel turn the fan to 90%... but would like to monitor the temps and frame rates on this and other games. 9800GT 1GB. ( as soon as the new card arrives.... back to ATI tools.
I just bought the Plextor AV200U, and it wasn't supported on my 64-bit Vista platform. So my question is: has anyone found a really good video capturing device in a tiny format? If it works with Premiere Pro then that's even more fantastic.
I have a problem with the the capture of my video into Windows Movie Maker. I have now recaptured the video again after ensuring that all othe programmes on the computer are disabled, however the problem still persists. During the actual capture process the video runs at normal speed and there are no fluctuations in the speed during that process. I do notice that the capture display on the computer tends to stop and start from time to time, but I believe this is normal and does not indicate a problem.
Once the capture is complete and I play back scenes from my capture, then the speed of the playback varies all the time, sometimes running faster than original capture and again slower at other times. I am sure that I have read somewhere that this is not abnormal during the video editing phase. However the problem arises in that once you publish the video these speed variations are written into the published video and subsequently transfered to the DVD.
I have been wanting to buy a video capture device to put my VHSs on my computer and have decided the time is now. I have looked at the Dazzle Video Creator Platinum and am happy with the reviews but it doesn't have 64 bit drivers. So would do you guys recommend to me? If I have to I can buy the dazzle and just use it with my old xp machine but I would like one that I can use with my vistax64. I guess a tv tuner would also work but what software would I use to record and seperate one video stream in to two files?
I bought a GeForce GTX260 and so far it's amazing. But I've been told that the resolution on the computer is based on the graphics card. The highest mine goes to is 1440x900. I've seen some go 1900xsome number. Is it possible to get my resolution higher or does my graphics card not allow that?
Hello, i am thinking of getting a new video card soon, and wanted to know if the card i picked is better than my current one.
The card i want to get is the EVGA GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 Video Card.
My current card is the NVIDIA GeForce 8200.
Is the card i want to buy any better than the one i currently have? I don't know to much about video cards but I think it is better. If it is better, will this card run Race Driver : Grid, and COD5?
I have a Toshiba P205-S6347 running Viste Home Premium 32 bit. The problem seems to be my video card which is built in, Mobile Intel 965 Express chipset Family. I am running version 7.14.10.1329. I read that SP1 will not update if the driver version is between 7.14.10.1322 and 7.14.10.1403. Tried to download the drivers from Intels webside they were not compatable. I called Toshiba support, they told me the driver I have is the moste recent driver and that I would not be able to upgrade to SP1.
I've been having a problem with my laptop for the longest time now and its starting to really get me frustrated. when i run full screen applications like my Zune player, VLC player, my games (which gets me sad cause i want to play my pc games) and other apps like those. my screen goes black with colored lines going down the screen and my laptop locks up and i have to shut it down. i took it to best buy where i bought it and they didnt fix it. and after looking through the web i found out that i might have a bad video card but i dont know what to do about it.
I have a program which can tell me which pc games I can or cannot play. It will run through my computer system and show me the list, which I pass and which I do not. I asked about Civilization 4, and it said NO. Everything passed except the video card. Can I upgrade my video card, or will my laptop be able to handle it ? I have a Dell Inspiron 1420 laptop. Please click the screenshot link to see what video card I'm supposed to have.
main reason is because my current video card isn't supported on vista and is only running on 16bits instead of 32 and overall picture display seems to be dark then usual even with the brightness on the monitor turned up all the way but i only have a regular 15.7inch monitor.
I have just brought a Media PC with a en9800GTX video card which has 2 DVI ports, I was told by the supplier that it is meant to be really good and do everything, I was also told when i got the machine that I really needed a HD TV with an HDMI port on the back so I had to go and get a panasonic TH-42PZ80B again being assured that this was what I needed. further to that I had to get a HDMI cable that would connect to the ports of the video card (via a hdmi to DVI converter) again being assured that this was everything I needed. Picture quality is great but there is no sound!
I can plug speakers into the back of the pc (green port with a standard cable) but there is nothing coming out of the TV, I have been told to right click on the sound icon in vista a change the audio to the TV but it is not listed! the media PC was brought on the basis of being speced to the hilt but there seems to be so much conflicting information and nothing works! 4k down and seems that I have brought a donkey!
I replaced my video card and after doing so, I noticed that the 'Automatic Activation occurs in 3 days' message was in the Welcome Centre. I clicked it and now it tells me that my product key is already active on another machine! It is isn't - it's the same machine. All I did was replace my video card.
i have 4 partions in my hard drive. But basiclly i screwed it up. i cant even use google sketch up 7. and chrome. i want to reinstall. i want my new pc to be like this

I need to find a reliable and stable video card for Vista64. I've been using an ASUS nvidia 8800 GTX for over a year and it really sux ...since i installed Vista 64Ultimate its getting worse. My first issue with it, was a power supply compatibility issue with my Antec 1000W power source when not recognizing the power it gets and the nvidia sentinel down-clocking the GPU ... now in Vista64 i have lot's of BSoD's, driver crashes and recovers, etc... I assumed they would eventially get the drivers right, but no luck yet.
My last BSoD it' regarding nvlddmkm.sys (0x00000116) which, from what i read on forums doesn't have a fix till now and can be also encountered with nvidia 9800 cards. So can anyone recommend a video card that its tested (ATI or Nvidia) and it runs smooth with a Vista64 system, with no major driver issues or BSOD's? PS I forgot to mention that i need a card suitable for most of the 3D games as WoW, AoC, Crysis with nice fps. My system is:
A while back I began getting a BSOD about a nVidia graphics card driver. Finally (kinda) resolved that by going to the nVidia web page and Dling/installing the latest driver. However, two problems persist. minor - I can not use any Direct3D screensaver - keep getting "The screen saver can't run because it requires a newer video card or one that's compatible with Direct3D." major - my PC is MUCH slower - that is, for example, when I open Explorer, it takes ~ 45 sec. to a minute to open as opposed to nearly instantly before the BSOD. on startup, icons on the desktop show up as white objects and slowly change to the actual icon image a few at a time. Before this, icons initially (instantly) appeared as the actual icon.
HP had me reomve the video card and wait for a beep - none - and remove the RAM cards and wait for a beep - one short, one long. Now they want me to do a System Restore. I am not at all interested in this. Previous attempts have resulted in reinstalling programs/settings over several days - time I do not have. Any ideas on troubleshooting/resolving this? Can I confirm a good nVidia card? Could it be a driver problem?
I have an HP Pavillion 9700 that came with a nVidia 8600 gs, 3gb RAM, a 2.4ghz core 2 duo, so i think the graphics card is the weak link in set up (not that it's that great overall). Are there any options for upgrading a mobile graphics card?
I loaded 5308. I had some difficulty with my dual PCI E video cards on installation. I had to take one out to make it load.I had no internet yet my properties showed that the LAN drivers were installed. My mouse was very.... jumpy and "laggy".I put XP back. I didn't have the patience to fu*k with it.I can't be sure that my "key" was good for the build. I just have an ISO. I can't see how that would jeopardize the load of the OS.
I have installed a video card awhile back and have a few hypothetical questions. If I had a problem that should pop up that I couldn't fix and need to reformat can I leave my video card and a proceed as normal. Would I have to remove card because it is not part of original system configuration and reinstall after the reformat. I don't know why I didn't ask about this when I got my video card but it never came to my attention. Now that it has I am kind of stumped and worried. Any body gone through something similar and what where the results.
I am just about to purchase a 9800 gtx+ (alt. gts 250). I opened up my case and just noticed this. The sata cables would block the card (10.5 inches long) If I used 90 degree ones would that clear it all up? Also There is a heatsink right there the gray one. I believe that is the integrated graphics one, I don't use those I am using a video card. So can that heatsink be removed so problems? The circles are representing the heatsink and sata cables. The two lines are how long the gtx+ is. It takes up two pci slots.
I bought a Diamond Radeon HD 3650 (1Gig) video card and on the box it says it supports Vista but it won't work. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Instead of a screensaver, I am getting a message "Need a newer video card or one that is compatible with Direct3D" All the rest of my graphic requiremnets seem to be o.k., but can't run a screensaver since I installed Vista. Can anyone let me know what video card I need to buy.(I don't play any games on the computer).
i got halo 2 for christmas and it said i needed vista. so i got vista and after i installed it i went on that thing that rates your PC's performance and it gave me a 1.0 this makes no sense because my computer is awesome. i have an extremely fast processor, plenty of RAM, and the second best video card available. and when it gave me a 1.0, it said that the cause of this was because my video card wasn't good. when i checked on "can you run it?" it said that i didn't have the video card that i had put in not long ago. so i am asking this: how come after i installed vista it said my video card was reverted back to my old one that came with my computer?
