I have a Pavilion a6460a. It appears to have a Geforce 8500 GT 512mb Video card. There is no Analog connection. I need to run two monitors, 1 digital and 1 analog. Will the Dual Link DVI with some kind of an adaptor run these two monitors?

I get choppy video and sound on digital and all channels show up after scanning.. I have all the latest drivers and software, done uninstalls, reboots, and reinstalls ... nothing.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was used to be able to use the digital as well as the analog output of my soundcard at the same time. (Soundcard is an onboard one with the ACī97 sound chip). But now running vista I can only use one. Either I choose the analog output to be "standard" (then it has the green tick) or the digital output.. Only the one chosen works then. Is there any way to get both working simultainiously?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Nvidia 7800 which i recently hooked up another monitor too(dual dvi) I now have no video from media player, quicktime, etc.. Only web based video works(which is weird because the web based video is running wmp. When i unplug monitor 2 the video works fine again, after a reboot and the like of course. Anyone know wuts going on here? Sound and everything else works fine, its just showing a black screen on the players.

It also looks as if there is something inside the slot, blocking it. It's been that way ever since I got the computer, but I've never really found anywhere to ask this question before.

I would be using it just to watch recorded shows on my HDTV using a Media Extender and would not be watching TV on my PC. I want a HDTV tuner card that will record programs from my digital cable using Media Center Software, not proprietary software. Any HDTV tuner cards fit this bill? Can be PCI or USB cards (my PCIe is taken by my graphics card.).

Apon browsing RealTekHD audio properites I discovered that the only options for Digital Output(RCA) were all 2-Channel under "Default Format" tab. However my front pannel Audio Output Jack(HD Audio 2nd Output) has an extra third tab labeled "Speaker Configuration" and has options for up to 7.1 surround but these settings do not impact my Digital Output(RCA) channel. Now my reciever does have a multi-channel input that could take advantage of the Analog Outputs in the rear but the distance is to great and multiple wires are expensive.

I am running version 7.14.10.1329. I read that SP1 will not update if the driver version is between 7.14.10.1322 and 7.14.10.1403. Tried to download the drivers from Intels webside they were not compatable. I called Toshiba support, they told me the driver I have is the moste recent driver and that I would not be able to upgrade to SP1.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been having a problem with my laptop for the longest time now and its starting to really get me frustrated. when i run full screen applications like my Zune player, VLC player, my games (which gets me sad cause i want to play my pc games) and other apps like those. my screen goes black with colored lines going down the screen and my laptop locks up and i have to shut it down. i took it to best buy where i bought it and they didnt fix it. and after looking through the web i found out that i might have a bad video card but i dont know what to do about it.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have just brought a Media PC with a en9800GTX video card which has 2 DVI ports, I was told by the supplier that it is meant to be really good and do everything, I was also told when i got the machine that I really needed a HD TV with an HDMI port on the back so I had to go and get a panasonic TH-42PZ80B again being assured that this was what I needed. further to that I had to get a HDMI cable that would connect to the ports of the video card (via a hdmi to DVI converter) again being assured that this was everything I needed. Picture quality is great but there is no sound!
I can plug speakers into the back of the pc (green port with a standard cable) but there is nothing coming out of the TV, I have been told to right click on the sound icon in vista a change the audio to the TV but it is not listed! the media PC was brought on the basis of being speced to the hilt but there seems to be so much conflicting information and nothing works! 4k down and seems that I have brought a donkey!
I replaced my video card and after doing so, I noticed that the 'Automatic Activation occurs in 3 days' message was in the Welcome Centre. I clicked it and now it tells me that my product key is already active on another machine! It is isn't - it's the same machine. All I did was replace my video card.

I've been using an ASUS nvidia 8800 GTX for over a year and it really sux ...since i installed Vista 64Ultimate its getting worse. My first issue with it, was a power supply compatibility issue with my Antec 1000W power source when not recognizing the power it gets and the nvidia sentinel down-clocking the GPU ... now in Vista64 i have lot's of BSoD's, driver crashes and recovers, etc... I assumed they would eventially get the drivers right, but no luck yet.
My last BSoD it' regarding nvlddmkm.sys (0x00000116) which, from what i read on forums doesn't have a fix till now and can be also encountered with nvidia 9800 cards. So can anyone recommend a video card that its tested (ATI or Nvidia) and it runs smooth with a Vista64 system, with no major driver issues or BSOD's? PS I forgot to mention that i need a card suitable for most of the 3D games as WoW, AoC, Crysis with nice fps. My system is:
A while back I began getting a BSOD about a nVidia graphics card driver. Finally (kinda) resolved that by going to the nVidia web page and Dling/installing the latest driver. However, two problems persist. minor - I can not use any Direct3D screensaver - keep getting "The screen saver can't run because it requires a newer video card or one that's compatible with Direct3D." major - my PC is MUCH slower - that is, for example, when I open Explorer, it takes ~ 45 sec. to a minute to open as opposed to nearly instantly before the BSOD. on startup, icons on the desktop show up as white objects and slowly change to the actual icon image a few at a time. Before this, icons initially (instantly) appeared as the actual icon.
HP had me reomve the video card and wait for a beep - none - and remove the RAM cards and wait for a beep - one short, one long. Now they want me to do a System Restore. I am not at all interested in this. Previous attempts have resulted in reinstalling programs/settings over several days - time I do not have. Any ideas on troubleshooting/resolving this? Can I confirm a good nVidia card? Could it be a driver problem?
I have an HP Pavillion 9700 that came with a nVidia 8600 gs, 3gb RAM, a 2.4ghz core 2 duo, so i think the graphics card is the weak link in set up (not that it's that great overall). Are there any options for upgrading a mobile graphics card?

I had to take one out to make it load.I had no internet yet my properties showed that the LAN drivers were installed.My mouse was very.... jumpy and "laggy".I put XP back. I didn't have the patience to fu*k with it.I can't be sure that my "key" was good for the build. I just have an ISO. I can't see how that would jeopardize the load of the OS.

If I had a problem that should pop up that I couldn't fix and need to reformat can I leave my video card and a proceed as normal. Would I have to remove card because it is not part of original system configuration and reinstall after the reformat. I don't know why I didn't ask about this when I got my video card but it never came to my attention. Now that it has I am kind of stumped and worried. If I used 90 degree ones would that clear it all up? Also There is a heatsink right there the gray one. I believe that is the integrated graphics one, I don't use those I am using a video card. So can that heatsink be removed so problems? The circles are representing the heatsink and sata cables. The two lines are how long the gtx+ is. It takes up two pci slots.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have an NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT video card installed on my new HP Pavillion dv7 1034ca laptop. It came with Vista Home Premium. So the first thing I did was intall Vista Ultimate. When I did that, the resolution was reset to 800x600. I reinstalled all the drivers, including the one for the NVIDIA card. When I went to change the resolution, I noticed that the highest I could go was 1440x900. Which is ok but I remember being able to go to a higher resolution when I had Vista Home Premium installed. The reason why I remember is because my icons are a bit larger now than they were before. What's bad is that 1440x900 is the highest I can go. What happened to my higher resolution?
