We have a PC with two User Accounts - both use Windows mail - one A/C has suddenly stopped printing E mails - when the print option is selected the slecetd E mail "freezes" and Windows Mail shows "not responding" and has be cloed down - the other A/C continues to print received E Mails without problem -
View 5 RepliesUsing Vista Home and Windows Mail. Just d/l'd IE 8 and now in Windows Mail, the new mail is automatically selected and shows up in the Preview Pane. Before, I could select an old piece of mail and when new mail came in, it did not get selected until I chose to do this. I want this feature back, but don't know how to get it. The reason? It is my understanding that once a piece of mail is in the preview screen, the sender (spam or otherwise undesirable character), knows you have received it; or if in html format, it can open a virus. I know I can turn off the Preview and do have a button on the top menu to do this, but would prefer to not have to do this whenever going into the email program. In Vista Mail, it is just so light. What I am talking about is when you put your mouse on the mail in your inbox, it is highlighted.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis could start at any time apparently but once it does my whole computer freezes up for 9 seconds exactly, then it's fine for about 50 seconds or so, then frozen for 9 seconds, etc. This will repeat until I reboot the computer. I somehow manged to fix the problem and had completely forgotten about it until the other day.
I wanted to hibernate my computer but the options weren't there so I found this page and entered the commands into the Command Prompt: How to Re-enable Missing Hibernate Option in Windows Vista? - Tweaking with Vishal
It sort of fixed my hibernation, now the Start Menu power button would hibernate, but more importantly the 9 second freezes started up again. I quickly ran the Hibernation File Cleaner in Disk Cleanup which is apparently what removed the hibernation option in the first place, but no luck, hibernation was now gone and the freezes still continued....................
The file Send E-Mail option is not present from the Office Button in Excel, is not available from the Office Button in Word, and is present and functional from the Office Button in PowerPoint. I use Windows Vista Home Premium Edition, Windows Mail and the MS-Office Home & Student 2007 suite.

When I print e-mail messages, the print of the message is quite small, however, the header (From, To, Sent, and Subject) prints normally. How can I change this so that my printer prints what is displayed By the way, the printer prints the appropiate size in Microsoft Word.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using a laptop with Win Vista and Outlook 2007. I have set Outlook to the the default mail handler (both in Start/Default Programs and in Tools/Options in Outlook). Yet, when I start Windows Mail and look under its Tools/Options menu, it shows that "this application is the default mail handler"! In other words, both programs seem to treat themselves as the default ones. This is a problem because whenever I try to install the Plaxo Windows toolbar, it adds it to Windows Mail (not Outlook, which is the program I use and want to be the SINGLE default mailer).

*My problem is when printing email the far left edge of the copy (type) does not print. The From: To: Cc: are missing the left half of the F, T and C letters all the way down the page as well. It's as if the page is not centered in the print area.*
*Under the print preferences I have tried "print to fit" and all the options to get that left edge to come out. This does not happen on Word docs however there is a left margin set on those.
I used a very convenient little tool which was coloring a folder/key in the left pane of regedit with a different color. Vista's colors are too subdued for me.

(some sort of error message about C:/users/username/appdata/local/temp/low/ and some files therein.) I'm having a problem with the overlay title on selected clips feature on WMM bleeding from one pix to another. I have around 300 pix and all are fine but a couple of cells. I don't want to slow the transition on all pix and I don't think it's possible to do it on select ones. Is there any other way to correct this problem?

I found a comment on a forum that said i need to select the windows locator
in the "client for microsoft networks" properties. If i ok that and keep all
the related windows open i can gain access to the net. The second i "ok" any
of the related windows i loose access and when checked, the windows locator
is again not selected.
My mail freezes up when I try to attach a file to my outgoing email. I click on the paper clip and all of a sudden it freezes.

I installed Vista Ultimate 32bit on a 2nd partition and tried using Windows Easy Transfer to transfer files and settings from the 64bit installation and pick them up in the 32bit installaion. This is the error I get every time I try to complete the transfer: "The store you selected was saved on a 64bit machine. Windows Easy Transfer cannot apply the data." Is there a way to use WET to transfer files from a Vista-64bit installation? If not WET, is there another utility?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've an Asus f5sl laptop with Vista Home Premium (32bit) but it's been freezing on me lately. When I boot up, it gets to the black screen with the green bar but after a few seconds, the green bar freezes and I can't log in. Occasionally it boots up after around half an hour but then Vista periodically freezes for a few seconds before resuming (which is annoying when trying to write out something etc)
I don't see any problems in Safe Mode so is possibly a driver? I've updated all my drivers, completely updated using WIndows Update, ran antispyware, used System Restore etc. Only problem is; I've moved to a new country, and like a fool, I left my Vista start up disk back home. Which I would otherwise have tried.
When I click "View" while composing a new e-mail message in windows mail the only three options that I get are:
- Cc and Bc
- Status bar
- Customize toolbar
there is no "Edit source" option. What could be the problem? Does Windows Mail have this feature at all?

I went to turn it on this morning, I just had a black screen showing the following words;
Press F2 to run
Press F11 to boot menu
Auto detecting PRI Master Atapai CDROM.
It then went to reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key. I went into the BIOS to change the boot order and inserted my Vista home premium 32bit. I then got windows is loading in files. After a short while I got the black start up screen with Microsoft Corporation but after a few seconds it just froze. Moments later it went to a blue screen with white writing part of which said the following; A PROBLEM HAS BEEN DETECTED AND WINDOWS HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN TO PREVENT DAMAGE TI YOUR COMPUTER.
