View 5 RepliesI haven't been able to figure out why I can't get my contacts to populate when I'm composing emails. In my old outlook it would give me options when I started typing in the To/CC/BCC bars and made it much easier & faster to email people. Now, unless I've sent an email to a person earlier in the day, I need to type the entire email address or click on the To/CC/BCC tabs. Is there a setting to allow the population of addresses to resume?

View 6 Replies View RelatedNew to Vista windows mail. Really hate some of the changes, especially the email address showing on address line--but will make do. View 9 Replies View RelatedIn previous versions of Windows with OE when I would begin to type the recipients address in the box it would auto-complete (or show choices if there were multiple matches at that point). Windows Mail for some reason is only doing this on a handful of my contacts and the rest I must click 'Recipients' and then select them from the huge list. Any one know of a fix for the auto-complete issue?

View 5 Replies View RelatedPeople say auto replies cannot be set up in Windows Mail... but they can... When using Outlook Express I set up an auto reply while i was on vacation and could never turn it off... it has nothing to do with message rules, because I deleted all rules... when i migrated to Windows Mail in Vista... the auto reply still happens... i can't find a way to turn it off...

View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to change the way you make corrections in composing an email message? Whenever I try to insert another sentence in front of one I've already typed, it does the "overtype" thing instead of simply inserting the text. I know how to do it with Outlook and Windows 98, but can't figure it out with Windows mail and Vista!!!

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have set up a second e-mail account using the same POP3 and SMTP servers(provided by the ISP) as I used to set up the first e-mail account. The first e-mail address is working fine, but when I send an e-mail to the second address (from the default account), it does not appear in the Inbox. The e-mail does appear in the Sent Items folder with no errors. How do I access the second account to receive/send e-mails?

How did the message get through, and how did the sender use faked address and still be able to send the message out? We want to stop this.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have just talked a friend (over the phone) on how to "Export" her Vista Mail Contacts as A comma separated file. She is going to dump Vista and install Win XP (and OE). The file has been saved as an excel file onto a USB Mem Stick She will be installing Office 2007 etc, Will OE be able to "Import" the CS File into her "New" OE Address Book? (Each mention I have seen describes the CS File as a "text" file)
View 8 Replies View RelatedIn Outlook Express, I used to add a registry D-String value to the WAB4 folder called "UseOutlook" with a "1" value. This allowed OE to pull my contacts from Outlook and keep the OE and Outlook address books identical. Upgraded to Vista/Windows Mail and even though it pulled my address book from OE, I can't figure out how to link to Outlook as before. Also, even though I've checked the box to automatically fill e-mail name/address when composing an e- mail, it's only auto filling names I've sent e-mails to from Windows Mail, not from the Contacts book.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have IE8, Windows Vista and Windows Mail, which shows as my default mail and only email address.
I would like to have my Hotmail address as my default mail, but Windows Mail will not allow me to add Hotmail. Wizard error says it does not support HTTP and I cannot see anywhere under Hotmail options/more options where it allows me to change any type of connections to POP3.
I read it can be done in G-Mail, but unfortunately I have Hotmail.
Is downloading "Windows Live" and uninstalling my "Windows Mail" a solution?
I have all my mail forwarded to Hotmail, so I wouldn't lose saved messages.
After sending an e-mail to a large group (130 addresses in total divided on 6 emails) my emails seem to be blocked. I can't send any more emails to anyone,
regardless of the size or number of reciptients.
I only receive a message from System Administrator saying: "Undeliverable: Your message did not receive some or all of the intended recipients. Recipient address rejected: Policy Rejection- Quota Exceeded." I need to be able to send e-mails again
How do I make a setting to always BCC or CC a specific email address?
