I have set up a second e-mail account using the same POP3 and SMTP servers(provided by the ISP) as I used to set up the first e-mail account. The first e-mail address is working fine, but when I send an e-mail to the second address (from the default account), it does not appear in the Inbox. The e-mail does appear in the Sent Items folder with no errors. How do I access the second account to receive/send e-mails?
View 4 RepliesI have a Windows Live Mail account and a Yahoo account and they both show up on the left hand side of my Window Live Mail account so I can choose which account I want to use or, for example, which inbox to look in. At the bottom, also on the left hand side of my Windows Live Mail account, it shows 'Add e-mail account', which is what I want to do with a new 'AOL' account and I want it to show on the left hand side like the two other accounts.
So I made a new AOL e-mail account, clicked 'Add e-mail account' at the bottom of my 'Windows Live Account', then I put in my new AOL e-mail account and password where it showed me. Then I clicked next.
The next page was all about my email server. When I did this before with a new e-mail account, it was all filled out automatically for me, but this time, all the blanks were left open and I have no idea what to fill in. I believe once I have this information, the AOL e-mail account will automatically then show on the left hand pane of my Windows Live Mail account below the other two accounts.
When I open the hotmail.com page, I see in the live id field someoneelse's account adress. Instead I am supposed to see my own account adress, as a cookie should keep
that. Now I dont know what is going on... I use vista ultimate with AVG. I leave my laptop open during the midnight for emule. I use wireless internet conenction and it is unsecured. My vista ultimate has the sp1 and latest updates, with firewall on... In these conditions can someone reach and use the hotmail from my computer? What is going on? If I cannot get a sensible answer, I will start to doubt if someone breaks in my home during the day and use my laptop, when I am at work.
If I remove a windows mail account will I lose all of the email in the account?
View 5 Replies View RelatedUp until yesterday lunchtime my email inbox on Windows Mail (I have Vista) showed my old emails as well as my new mails. then suddenly all my old emails disappeared and I can only see new emails from yesterday lunchtime! my emails have vanished - how do I get them back? I use AOL - when I check my AOL via webmail i can still see the old emails so know they exist. so why have they disappeard from Windows Mail?
I have several folders set up on my AOL Windows Mail accont so don't want to have to set up a new windows mail account as I will lose allmy folders. And my account settings are set to "view all mail". even wehn I press "send & receive" none of my old inbox emails are being shown up.
I wish to learn how to create a fake e-mail address for use in windows mail when posting to newsgroups so my identity is protected.

Members must provide valid e-mail addresses and nobody is to send messages to the group without membership and valid acknowledged address. So, my question is, how did this happen ? This allowed OE to pull my contacts from Outlook and keep the OE and Outlook address books identical. Upgraded to Vista/Windows Mail and even though it pulled my address book from OE, I can't figure out how to link to Outlook as before. Also, even though I've checked the box to automatically fill e-mail name/address when composing an e- mail, it's only auto filling names I've sent e-mails to from Windows Mail, not from the Contacts book.

I would like to have my Hotmail address as my default mail, but Windows Mail will not allow me to add Hotmail. Wizard error says it does not support HTTP and I cannot see anywhere under Hotmail options/more options where it allows me to change any type of connections to POP3.

View 8 Replies View Relatedi have always used outlook express, since i purchased windows vista, outlook express is updated to windows live worst thing ever, i used to be able to just type the first letter of the email address or name to whom i was mailing, now if i am forwarding an email to several people i now have to type every address individually, in full, is this the way that windows live is?? is it a glitch?? can i go back to the old outlook express, or should i just get a yahoo account and have no problems what so ever??
