Setting Up Windows Mail With A Yahoo Email Address
Mar 23, 2008I am trying to set up my vista mail account with the yahoo pop account and I followed the instructions but I get the followin Account: 'pop.mail.yahoo.com', Server: 'pop.mail.yahoo.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR invalid user/password', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92g error.
It told me to use my yahoo log in and password and that is what I try to use and I keep getting the same error message.
Setting Up POP Server Address
Aug 13, 2009This has to be the most confusing and difficult set up I've seen.
In VERY simple terms, how do you set up the blasted "server address" in order to send mail? I received all the spam they sent me just fine, but when I try to send mail, I get nothing but error messages about the POP server address.
I looked in these threads, and every answer seems to be using words and terms you need years of computer training to understand. I don't have that training, I'm merely an intelligent person trying to set up my email account.
So how do you enter or correct this stupid business about POP3 servers and so on?
I got the information from my ISP, they gave me two lines,
outgoing mail, (SMTP):SMTP.comcast.net
incoming mail, (POP3):mail.comcast.net
I tried to enter this stuff in the fields, but it still won't work, this whole setup process is VERY complicated and impossible for me to follow.
So can somebody pleae tell me, in simple plain english, what is the exact procedure you use to type in the server addresses for incoming and outgoing mail?

May 3, 2010I have set up a second e-mail account using the same POP3 and SMTP servers(provided by the ISP) as I used to set up the first e-mail account. The first e-mail address is working fine, but when I send an e-mail to the second address (from the default account), it does not appear in the Inbox. The e-mail does appear in the Sent Items folder with no errors. How do I access the second account to receive/send e-mails?

Feb 12, 2009My alumni group website received an anonymous letter with invalid (fake ) address. This alumni group site is Membership Only. Members must provide valid e-mail addresses and nobody is to send messages to the group without membership and valid acknowledged address. So, my question is, how did this happen ? How did the message get through, and how did the sender use faked address and still be able to send the message out? We want to stop this.

Mar 23, 2008In Outlook Express, I used to add a registry D-String value to the WAB4 folder called "UseOutlook" with a "1" value. This allowed OE to pull my contacts from Outlook and keep the OE and Outlook address books identical. Upgraded to Vista/Windows Mail and even though it pulled my address book from OE, I can't figure out how to link to Outlook as before. Also, even though I've checked the box to automatically fill e-mail name/address when composing an e- mail, it's only auto filling names I've sent e-mails to from Windows Mail, not from the Contacts book.

I would like to have my Hotmail address as my default mail, but Windows Mail will not allow me to add Hotmail. Wizard error says it does not support HTTP and I cannot see anywhere under Hotmail options/more options where it allows me to change any type of connections to POP3.
I read it can be done in G-Mail, but unfortunately I have Hotmail.
Is downloading "Windows Live" and uninstalling my "Windows Mail" a solution?
I have all my mail forwarded to Hotmail, so I wouldn't lose saved messages.
