Windows Mail Encoding/mime Problems In Sent E-mails

Mar 23, 2008

I migrated my email from Outlook Express to Windows Mail.for the mosst part, I like the new features and support in the new Mail
program.

But I have come across one problem that I can't figure out.searching the posts on this forum, no one else seems to be having the same problem.

When I send a new e-mail OR reply to an e-mail from a contact, the email content is shifted to the bottom of the email and a ton (about 30-50 lines) of MIME encoding information is imbedded in the top portion of the email.

I have tried changing encoding to reply in senders format or default to Windows instead of ISO format all with no resolution.

People complain about the emails they get from me from my Windows Mail account but if I send from Outlook Express, from hotmail web interface, or my Blackberry all is good and encoding info is not included.

Seems to be some Windows Mail setup issue running on Vista Ultimate x64 with
latest updates applied as of now.

Auto Reply Can't Sent Up In Windows Mail

Apr 4, 2009

People say auto replies cannot be set up in Windows Mail... but they can... When using Outlook Express I set up an auto reply while i was on vacation and could never turn it off... it has nothing to do with message rules, because I deleted all rules... when i migrated to Windows Mail in Vista... the auto reply still happens... i can't find a way to turn it off...

Mail Program Not Detect Internet Connection

Aug 5, 2009

Whenever I go into windows mail a window pops up asking about my dial-up connection. It says select the service you want to connect to. There's nothing in the drop down box. When I go to settings... it says you are already connected to the internet - which I am. I'm on a wireless connection at home that works no problem but the mail program doesn't seem to detect any internet connection.

Re-detect Primary HDD Doen't Appear In Windows Explorer

May 5, 2009

My system was working perfectly, but I disconnected and removed my HDDs to clean them and then re-installed them. I have an ASUS P5W DH Deluxe motherboard. The last time I installed Windows Vista on my system it went to my new SATA HDD installed through the SATA1_RAID socket on the motherboard and not to my primary IDE harddrive. After I re-installed all my HDDs, the system boots correctly, but my primary harddrive doen't appear in Windows Explorer, nor in the Computer Manager's Disk Management window. The primary harddrive does, however; show up in the BIOS, just not in Windows. I would like to access this HDD and my data stored on it. Why did I loose the connection to it and what's the solution? I reconnected the same harddrives as I had connected before.

Auto-login (Windows 7)

Jul 30, 2009

I realize this group is for Windows Vista, but since Windows 7 is mostly Windows Vista, I'm hoping solutions that work for Vista will work for Windows 7. I have a Windows 7 RC box attached to my active directory (2003) and am trying to set it up to automatically log onto the network. Has anyone here been able to do this with Vista?

I have tried everything from modifying the user accounts to not need to enter a password (unable to do that -- I don't have that option) to editing the registry to installing Autologon from Sysinternals and a couple things I can't think of right now. If anyone has successfully managed this, please let me know, especially if you've done it on a Windows 7 box. :-)

AutoAdminLogon = 1
ForceAutoLogon = 1(Have tried enabling this and disabling it and still no luck)

Also tried making sure "IgnoreShiftOverride" was set to zero and no effect.

After Latest Auto Updates, Windows Wont Restart

Sep 30, 2008

the latest Vista updates were downloaded to my computer. I didn't restart my computer after the updates were downloaded. When I turned on my laptop this morning, the Startup Repair window comes up because windows failed to start. I've run the repair several times, and it's unable to repair. It lists the following

problem details:
Problem Event Name: StartupRepariV2
Problem Signature 01: AutoFailover
Problem Signature 02: 6.0.6000.163686.6.0.6001.1800
Problem Signature 03: 5
Problem Signature 04: 262148
Problem Signature 05: BadDriver
Problem Signature 06: BadDriver
Problem Signature 07: 0
Problem Signature 08: 3
Problem Signature 09: WrpRepair
Problem Signature 10: 10
OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.256.1
Local ID: 1033

So, I see that part (if not all) of the problem is bad drivers. Why is this so and how can I fix it? I have a Gateway M-Series laptop (about 10 months old).

X64 Does Not Detect XFX GeForce 9500 GPU

Sep 15, 2009

GPU: XFX GeForce 9500

Gateway LX-6200

Computer Specs:

Windows Vista Home Premium x64

AMD Phenom 9500 Quad Core

8GB Ram

Serial ATA 500GB HD

ATI Radeon HD 3200

500W PSU

(any other info needed, just request)

P.S. Not sure of the MoBo build. It was the original MoBo that came with the computer.

I originally did what I normally do when installing any graphics card; I uninstalled the on-board graphics card drivers and disabled it, then attempted to install the drivers for the new card. While running the installation, an error appeared telling me that it didn't detect any Nvidia compatible hardware in my setup. So I checked my device manager and sure enough, there was only the onboard card showing up in the list. So I tried restarting the computer to see if a reboot would cause it to appear. Nothing happened, so I ran CCleaner and Driver Sweeper to clear any registry and drivers issues that could be occuring. I rebooted, and still nothing appeared. So I went into the BIOS and tried to change some settings in there. I disabled the on-board through the options there, but that only caused the BIOS to give me issues and I couldn't even reach the splash screen, so I reset it and then tried changing the load settings from IGFX-GFXO-GPP-PCI to GFXO-GPP-IGFX-PCI, saved and then rebooted. I got past the splash screen on the new video card but the computer locked up before it would load the OS. So I know that both the card and the PCI-E slot on the MoBo are working fine. But I have run out of ideas as to what to try next to get this to work.

Not Detect The Graphics Card

Jun 6, 2009

Now i've installed Vista Home Premium 32-bit onto the system, but it will not detect the graphics card at all. Although i have got a display (Motherboard does not have on-board). I've tried using the driver disk supplied with the card, but it always tells me to go to the XFXForce website, so i do and download their drivers and install but CCC does not appear to get installed. I've tried the card in another Vista 32-bit System and it gets found and drivers install nicely and the card works fine. Is there anything wrong that i'm doing??

Vista Does Not Detect Close 500 Gb

Jun 24, 2008

I am running Vista Home Premium. I had been running 2 Western Digital 500GB drives in RAID 0 mode. The external enclosure was a Fantom enclosure. The controller was going bad, so I bought a Xtrastor 3.5 x2 HDD enclosure which supports RAID 1. Anyhow, when I hook it up via USB, it only detects an 8GB drive. Once I got it to detect it as a 75GB drive. If I hook it up as an eSATA, Vista does not see it at all......It should detect close to 500GB since the other 500GB is for the RAID I have a PB5 motherboard. I have tried a lot of things via the cables and re-booting and such, no luck.

XP Does Not Detect Hosted LAN Games

Mar 23, 2008

I've tried everything I can think of; disabling IPv6, LLTD, installing the LLTD patch on xp, turning off all firewalls, file sharing, etc.. Nothing seems to work. I'll start a listen game server on the vista computer because it's mine and it's much more powerful than the XP computer. When I try to find a server on the LAN browser, nothing come up. If I host from the XP machine, the Vista one can see and connect to the XP's server. However, this method costs frames and gameplay, so hosting a game on the Vista computer is the more viable idea. This happens in every game.
