Auto Complete Address Not Work
May 21, 2008I need to do to have Windows Mail auto complete the address of the recipient. Sometimes it works and most of the time it does not.

Auto-complete Email Address
Apr 6, 2008New to Vista windows mail. Really hate some of the changes, especially the email address showing on address line--but will make do. Can't find a solution to: We have the option for auto complete when starting the email address, and mine is checked, but the function doesn't work. Anyone have a clue?

Mar 23, 2008In previous versions of Windows with OE when I would begin to type the recipients address in the box it would auto-complete (or show choices if there were multiple matches at that point). Windows Mail for some reason is only doing this on a handful of my contacts and the rest I must click 'Recipients' and then select them from the huge list. Any one know of a fix for the auto-complete issue?

May 11, 2008When I use my Windows Mail (Vista) there are a few of my contacts that will 'auto complete' but not all of them. I have the setting set properly, and some work. I have about five that begin with "J" and only one of them will auto complete. On the others I have to type the entire address.

I've completely deleted the address and re-entered it, but when I compose an email, and type my first name, both address come up in auto-complete. Sep 5, 2009I exported my email addresses from my old laptop using outlook express as a csv file then imported them to windows mail via import. i ticked all the boxes and i have made sure the box to automatically complete email addresses when composing is ticked is actually ticked and applied. Jun 6, 2008I open my computer and right mouse click on DVD drive and go to prosperities and there is only 5 tabs and the auto play is missing. So my LG DVD won't boot up an auto play. So if my computer crasher I won't be able to put in my Vista DVD and boot up to fix it. Anyone knows anything about this? I put a Emprex DVD in and it boots up auto play where I can click on the auto play and go from there but there still isn't an auto play tab on the property of my computer.

Feb 24, 2009I successfully added my Comcast accounts to windows mail on Vista, but am puzzled as to this new @microsoft.com address; this address doesn't work. I am getting my Comcast emails. I asked friends to send me emails to maire@microsoft.com but I have not received them. Do I have to set up this microsoft account as well? Also I have forgotten my password and it tells me to check my @microsoft.com address to reset, but I have not got the message.

Jun 8, 2008I upgraded (a so-called "clean install" on same partition... it made xp pro x64 unusable by renaming various system folders) to windows vista home basic hoping that PAE would work. I had assumed that 4GB RAM would be no problem (the intel e6600 core2duo in this system supports 64bit instructions, and as a result PAE works on linux just fine) though it is not doing what I expected.
After installing Vista SP1 (came out recently) from windows update, I decided to try using BCDEDIT.EXE and set PAE to "force enable" mode... Not working as expected!!! Well, pressing [windows logo key on keyboard] and [break] at the same

Mar 23, 2008How do i get my games to auto play and auto run in win Vista? Any other installation disk will auto run, but not games? I even installed 4 virtual drives from Farstone Pro. It has an auto play and auto run feature in it. But it doesn't work either?

May 15, 2008Whenever i create a new email by click "To" to open up my address book for selecting any email address, or when i use "reply all" and want to add in some more email address from the address book, the computer start to run and till it stuck, so the only choice for me is to end this task and type email address instead of selecting email address from address book.
i thought that this is because i got too many email address, thus i deleted most of it and now only got 700 email address inside my address book, i just can not understand that when outlook express can take more than 3000 email address book, but windows mail can not take about 700 email address book. And somemore, this email address book is just useless for me, because whenever i want to use the address book, the windows mail is going to hang... and the only choice is to go to task manager, end this task and restart my windows mail.

Jun 5, 2008I performed the complete PC backup but I don't know if it worked and if it did, what discs are valid. It was a confusing process. I have 36 GB to backup and it said it should take 3-5 DVD discs. When I inserted the first disc it said to label it, including the date and time of the backup followed by "1". It did the same thing four times, and each time the progress bar started from the beginning. After the fourth disk, it finally went through verifying the disc and the progress bar went further. It told me to label backup was complete. The last two discs are readable but the other three are not. Did the system back up all 36 GB on two DVDs? If there were errors writing to some discs then it should tell me that the discs are not part of the backup set.

Mar 26, 2008I downloaded en_windows_vista_enterprise_with_service_pack_1_x64_dvd_x14-55934.iso and burned it to a DVD. Then I ran SETUP.EXE on a 64-bit Vista system. The installation ran as an UPGRADE for hours. Literally hours. When I awakened in the morning, the computer was stalled in the cleanup phase of installation. I power cycled the computer. Vista decided the Upgrade was a failure and reverted to the state before the Upgrade started. I see no reason for this behavior.
