I accidently hit the UNDO button instead of the spell check while composing an email... I lost several paragraphs of my email, is there anyway to restore my email to it's orginal content or retrieve my original email?

Whenever I try to insert another sentence in front of one I've already typed, it does the "overtype" thing instead of simply inserting the text. I know how to do it with Outlook and Windows 98, but can't figure it out with Windows mail and Vista!!!

View 9 Replies View RelatedContact has a Vista business laptop that until recently when you went into Windows Explorer to look at pictures you can press the email button and it would prepare an email in their email client Mozilla Thunderbird with the image as a file attachment.
However recently this has changed back to Microsoft Outlook for no particular reason. Checked all the defaults and they all point to Thunderbird still being the default program for email. Under file associations, have checked that for protocols, SENDTO is set to Thunderbird. However the "E-mail" button still now brings up Outlook. How can I change this back. It's very frustrating and I've played around for a good long while.
when i compose mail it has reverted to Arial size 12; when i change it to say,36, it has a size 36 cursor but immediately I type it reverts to 12 again. Have i got a default that is overriding my other settings?

In my old outlook it would give me options when I started typing in the To/CC/BCC bars and made it much easier & faster to email people. Now, unless I've sent an email to a person earlier in the day, I need to type the entire email address or click on the To/CC/BCC tabs. Is there a setting to allow the population of addresses to resume?
View 5 Replies View RelatedToday I have noticed that all of the folders on my computer are set to read-only, according to the properties menu, the Read Only box is blue. I looked through a similar topic on this message board, and the solutions were not effective in solving this problem.
In addition, this not only has affected every folder on my computer (including Documents), but it affects new folders as well. When I create a new, empty folder, with no files in it whatsoever, it is still marked as Read Only with a blue box.
I have a dual boot setup that has Vista on one sata hard drive and Windows XP on another sata hard drive. If I remember correctly, I installed XP 1st and than Vista. I now want to keep the current system running with XP and remove the Vista hard drive and install it in a new computer I am building. I'm guessing I will have bootup issues on boot on both pc's once I remove the Vista hard drive.

When I try to undo a restore point, a get an error message that the operation has failed because of an unknown error. Then none of my other restore points will work, either.

i have a Vista home premium 32 edition.
1. Once by mistake I okayed i to be added as a word in the spell check. Many times I type in i as there is not enough pressure on the shift key. Question - how do I restore my word dictionary to undo i as an incorrect word?
2. My spell check does not pick up small case for the start of a sentence/paragraph? How do I fix that?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI ran an .exe file in order to remove that little blue line at the bottom that is supposedly a "hidden" taskbar, and now I can't seem to undo it. When I load windows the taskbar is there, but without the clock and the system tray icon'd programs. Then I run the hidetaskbar.exe and it goes away completely which is great, but how do I access the system tray programs?
In particular, I'm having trouble with Trillian (a chat client that controls aim, icq, yahoo, msn all at once). When it starts up it goes immediately to the system tray, so it has been rendered completely inaccessible to me. I can't alt+tab to it, I can't switch to it in the processes window, I can't even access it's options to change it so that it doesn't minimize to the system tray on startup. = ugh. I can't remember the website I got the file from, and I don't even know if they have an undo version.

seen about it shows a round start button at the bottom. Mine has an XP-type

Even after shutting-down the PC, Start - Shut-down, a green light in the middle of the PC is still on, although the PC has been shut-down completely. I need to turn-off its light by pulling off power-cable connected with the PC. Does this indicate 'malfunction' light inside the PC?

large and the apply button can't be seen. The bottom of screen can't be

How do I make the screen smaller so the apply button will be exposed?
Acer tech support said do a factory restore and the Vista Forum tutorial instructions didn't fix it.
BTW, I have Vista Home Premium X32, if that makes any difference.
I did install the "Vista Start Menu" freeware and it works, but I want the
original Vista Start button back, I got used to it.
I have a problem with the arrow next to the lock button. Half of it is missing. The only thing i have found was a reg hack to remove the lock button to allow more room for the arrow. The reg change did not work and messed up my mouse and keyboard along with no sound from media player. A system restore fixed everything. Has anyone had this problem with the arrow? See attachment.

View 7 Replies View RelatedEvery now and again, a strange thing happenes to my start bar. It completely freezes, and I can't click anything on there apart from the start button. I can't select any tabs, or use the system tray. If that doesn't happen, sometimes the Start button decides to freeze instead. Basically it goes dark (like it does when it has been pressed) and then it stays like that and it won't let me open it.

For instance if I minimize web page 1, I will get a button. but when I go to web page 2 and minimize it the button replaces the button for web page 1. The buttons are not stacked. Shouldn't I get a task bar button for each web page that is minimized so that I can retrieve particular pages as desired? The taskbar button feature seems to work when opening multiple programs as described in Vista Support, but it does not seem to function with multiple windows.
