I got an error sign whenever I'm logging in to my windows live messenger, Device Manager to search for change and internet explorer browser. I'm currently using the IE 8 and was thinking if it's because of version problem, so I downgraded to IE 7, unfortunately, same problem coming out again. Does anyone has the same problem as mine? Window System: Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3
Error message: Windows cannot find 'C:Documents and SettingsUsernameApplication DataIEPurifierliveupdate.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search.
a message keeps popping up saying the following: Cannot load dialog. Error 623: The system could not find the phone book entry for this connection. All I can do is click the close button and it goes away and nothing else seems to happen, but it pops up again in a few minutes.
when i go to the time settings and click on "Update Now" on the "Internet Time" tab, i get an error message saying that Windows can not synchronize the time. I checked the even viewer and found the following related error messages.
I need some helpadvice about installing 2 operating systems on 2 different hard drivers. I have Windows XP x64 bit on one of the HDD, and I have bought a new HDD,I would like to install the same operating system on the new HDD,how do I do it? Just plug-in the new HDD and install a new OS on it?Or do I need to detach one and then install the os on the new one?
I can't find in the internet information about installing the same OS on different HDD only about different OS.
I might have known this, but it escapes me right now. I'd like to find the setting in Internet Explorer 6 to cause (when i have several pages open) the stack to run vertically? I have machines that do, and much prefer it
I've just reinstalled windows xp media center edition on my mams toshiba satalite a50 laptop but i cant get onto the internet using ethernet because i can't find the drivers well i goto install my bt home hub and it says i can only connect to the internet by using the usb wire and doesnt give me a option to use the internet throught the ethernet wire. so i install the usb drivers for the homehub and connect to the hub using usb then i went onto the toshiba website and downloaded the drivers so i could try and get my ethernet connection working but nothing seems to get it working plus my wireless connection doesnt work ther isnt anything on my computer that gives me a option to connect to the wireless network.
I have a Windows XP Home computer with a internet connection via USB from a Dynalink RTA100+. This router has a Ethernet port, i have a ethernet cable to my laptop which has xp pro. How do i get the internet to be working at the same time, using the same router, by using the same router but by diffrent ports.
I am running windows xp pro and my internet explorer get hangs intermittenly. The following is the even log for IE hangs Hanging application iexplore.exe, version 7.0.6000.16876, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000.
why doesnt my computer retain the correct time. everyday my xp machine is up to an hour slow and everyday i resync it just to have it happen again.do i have a virus?
All was well until the 16th July. On the 17th July, according to my PC it was the 23rd. For some reason know only to IT technology, my PC decided it didn't like the third week of July and promptly gained a week. I put the date back - only to literally watch it slowly then highlight the date it had decided upon. What happened on the 16th July originally that prompted this - I have no idea - no event log or anything else. Have synchronised with internet time stamp and it tells me it can't because my date is wrong. Every time I change it, it holds for one or two seconds and then literally unhighlights todays date (that I have just changed it to) and highlights the date approximately a week ahead.
i just want to know if there is some way i can curb the kid's use on the pc and xbox. some software maybe? i just want to block the internet access after a certain time. the reason being is that as they are older i some times go to bed before they do and therefore have no way of monitoring the access.
I have Windows XP Professional Version 2002, Service Pack 3 and I've noticed recently, that when I am online, my puter will all of a sudden get knocked off the server. I dont' know why this so much, nor how to fix the problem. I get the message "can't find server", with Firefox and Internet Explorer. I then have to log off and reboot, which costs me money as I use my computer in my small business. This is very frustrating and I need to know how to fix the problem. I recently moved to an apartment from a house and I'm wondering if that may have something to do with it. maybe all the signals in an apartment setting are crossing or something.
This problem is on my other computer. im using comcast high speed internet.I have wireless internet going from my desktop and my laptop on my desk top it says im connected to my router but can not find internet connection.I have talked to comcast and they say that it is a problem with my router. but i have eliminated the router and hooked straight up to my pc and it still does not work.also on my network connections i have a wireless connection but my local area connection is gone. could my network card be bad?
I just installed IE7 over IE6, but I cannot seem to find IE listed in Add/Remove Programs or in the Start Programs menu. How can I find it and get the shortcut icon on the desktop? Also, I need the shortcut for WinXP 'shutdown'.
Sometimes (but not always) when I click on the checkbox in the upper right to close Internet Explorer, it takes a long time to close the window--up to 3 minutes. During this time I can't get to my desktop by clicking on the "show desktop" icon on my toolbar either.
My internet explorer just started crashing every time i open it, and also the kazaa lite prog crashes the same way. i haven't tried any other programs, but this is what hijackthis says:
Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1 Scan saved at 23:05:57, on 27/04/2006 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180)
Whenever I run Internet Explorer, my C: drive gets marked as "Dirty" and the drive gets checked on the next bootup sequence.I have not been able to isolate where the problem is. I don't see any reports of nastiness after running MBAM or Avira AV, thought the system has been infected in the past.
Why does the time and date keep changing. I have done (I think) everything right manually and thro internet time to correct this. changes to proper time then next time I log on my computer everything is wrong again.
This is weird and perplexes me and everyone I ask: My computer doesn't have anything that seems like a major performance problem, but it does one funny thing. I have SBC Yahoo DSL and use the modem and ethernet card they sent me, as well as a Linksys Ethernet Firewall Router. (I only have one computer; the router is just for security.) What's weird is that every time I boot my computer, there is a better-than 50% chance that there will be no Internet connection. When I look in Control Panel under Network Connections, there is no ethernet card listed except one called "1394 Connection".
Why do i keep getting message, Internet explorer cannot display web page every time i try to go to different web pages it is so anoying, i have turned off windows firewall but it still does it.
In Windows XP, is there a way to change how often the system time is updated from a time server on the Internet? Right now it is 7 days. It appears that my clock is running a bit fast.
I was told by Comcast that The Fan (a feature) was freezing because I needed to reinstall IE 6 I have no other probs with freezing anywhere, my Java is ok. I thought I may have had a repair utility in Add/Remove programs but IE is not EVEN listed in there NOR OE. I am beside myself I never did this before, I have reformatted but never fooled around with IE.
I have one internet program,( with my bank), that freezes every time I open it. If I delete my Sun Microsoft Java then it runs. This does not happen to me on a laptop that I uses. Both machines run Win XP.It's a pain to keep adding ang removing the Java.
