In Windows XP, is there a way to change how often the system time is updated from a time server on the Internet? Right now it is 7 days. It appears that my clock is running a bit fast.

Specifically, DST will start three weeks earlier (2:00 A.M. on the second Sunday in March) and will end one week later (2:00 A.M. on the first Sunday in November). Thus, Microsoft is releasing an update to address changes that have or will take place in several countries. I was updating multiple WinXP Pro SP2 computers at the same time, and suddenly one of them failed during the update, and since then i cannot update cause the system always complains about a security certificate is out of sync with your time. And it suggest that I set the clock which is perfectly ok.Now the next thing I did was (the obvious) google 0x80072F8F (this was the error code winxp update gave to me.

Anyways to make a long story short..Since then,In the address bar (ie icon), and all my internet links (internet shortcuts) show as an unassigned file type now. So for instance if I drag an http link from my browser to my desktop...it does not show as an ie link anymore (just a random file type). So when I right click my internet links and say "open with" internet explorer it works. However...when I select the check box "always open with this program" it will not change all of my internet shortcuts appear with the "IE" icon like it should
