Constantly Reseting Internet Time By Itself?
Jun 22, 2005why doesnt my computer retain the correct time. everyday my xp machine is up to an hour slow and everyday i resync it just to have it happen again.do i have a virus?

Outlook Express/Internet Explorer Constantly Closing Out?
Jul 31, 2005I accidently downloaded auto windows updates of SP2 which I did not want to do. My problems with IE and OE(Have windows XP HOme edition) constantly freezing and closing out with error reports started then. It's getting MUCH WORSE AND MORE FREQUENT. I have resisted and not downloaded any more SP2 auto updates since.I do virus and spy checks daily--no problems there; no new software recently installed.

Aug 7, 2009I'm getting this perpetual lag issue. Windows folders and internet pages load slowly load slowly, and the mouse cursor responds to clicks when it feels like it. I've checked the mouse, and that's not the problem. I checked Task Manager and downloaded Process Explorer, but I never see more than 15% usage at a time. I've also run AVG for viruses/malware, but nothing comes up. I've had similar problems before, when a piece of hardware died, but so far I can't find any conflicts.

Oct 19, 2009Now for the problem: every time I restart my computer or maybe just close and open it again after a hour, the screen resolution is at 800x600I keep resetting the resolution to 1024x768 (that's the highest resolution my laptop can take without me having to scroll down to the start menu), but the computer just resets itself everything I turn it off. It's as if I did nothing. I'm pressing the "Apply" and "OK" buttons in the window, and I can't figure out if there's something else I should be doing.

Aug 1, 2008All was well until the 16th July. On the 17th July, according to my PC it was the 23rd. For some reason know only to IT technology, my PC decided it didn't like the third week of July and promptly gained a week. I put the date back - only to literally watch it slowly then highlight the date it had decided upon. What happened on the 16th July originally that prompted this - I have no idea - no event log or anything else. Have synchronised with internet time stamp and it tells me it can't because my date is wrong. Every time I change it, it holds for one or two seconds and then literally unhighlights todays date (that I have just changed it to) and highlights the date approximately a week ahead.

Sep 11, 2010Whenever I run Internet Explorer, my C: drive gets marked as "Dirty" and the drive gets checked on the next bootup sequence.I have not been able to isolate where the problem is. I don't see any reports of nastiness after running MBAM or Avira AV, thought the system has been infected in the past.

I have SBC Yahoo DSL and use the modem and ethernet card they sent me, as well as a Linksys Ethernet Firewall Router. (I only have one computer; the router is just for security.) What's weird is that every time I boot my computer, there is a better-than 50% chance that there will be no Internet connection. Feb 21, 2006I have one internet program,( with my bank), that freezes every time I open it. If I delete my Sun Microsoft Java then it runs. This does not happen to me on a laptop that I uses. Both machines run Win XP.It's a pain to keep adding ang removing the Java.
