Recently, whenever I right-click on a jpeg or mp3 file, it takes about 20-30 seconds for the right click menu to come up. Right clicking works fine on most other file types. My file assocications are intact and havn't changed.

When I try to open a file using Open with by rght clicking a say, a JPEG image file, earlier I used to see the Photoshop Cs2 as an option. But now, I not only do not see Photoshop listed as an available program option, even when I select browse and go to the program folder and select Photoshop.exe for opening with, the image does not get opened in the Photoshop.

I have a problem with XP in that if I right click on a file the drop-down options appear and if I move down to select an option mostly I get a warning that Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. I click Debug but then get a Warning that DrWatson debugger has encountered a problem and needs to close as well. On the right click drop-down there is an option "Open with Videozilla". I have a hunch that this may have something to do with the problem because it is mostly when this is highlighted in navigating down the options that the problem occurs.
I searched all files for "zilla" and only remnants of Mozilla were found, which I removed. No Videozilla files were found. When the mouse hits Videozilla the folder closes, all icons on desktop disappear for a few seconds as if the PC was resetting. It does not crash but is infuriating. Anybody else ever experience something similar? I could be barking up the wrong tree blaming Videozilla.
When i right click on any file the windows hangs, but if i click the right mouse on the desktop its okay as long as you don't right click over a file, What is the solution for this?

What i want to do is to delete a file, and it does not work with pressing delete either (same effect). But, as i said, the whole conext menu wont open. With my old Windows 98, if I simply put ".jpeg" in the top search line (with Local Hard drive for my choice of "look in"), the results would be hundreds of .jpeg files. And when I try it with XP there are only 8 .jpeg files listed.when I know there are hundreds on my computer? I am looking for a picture that I know I have, but not sure where it is and I don't recall the name I had it listed as.I also tried searching for .ico files just to see if that worked and it did, however,It listed a lot of .ico files, but not all of them.

View 8 Replies View RelatedJust reformated my computer, installed all critical windows updates, scanned for virus'/spyware, and updated all hardware drivers. When i try to set jpegs as wallpapers it takes an eternity to load them and causes the display properties window to hang, but bmp's load up instantly.. Jpegs work and load perfectly fine in other programs such as paint, photoshop though.All of this is after i have just reformated for like the 3rd time in 2 days to see if it was a installation problem, but i guess not. It would seem its a hardware issue but i can play games like oblivion at normal fps, aswell as other games.

My curent problem is that When I rightclick a desktop icons I only get an hour glass, the system stops responding to any thing. The only way out of it it to either log off or shut down and restart.When I open the recycle bin though it appears full on the desktop icon I could not see any item on it.If I try do delete, move this folder or any of the command on the left file/folder task pane I only get hour glass. The only way out of it is ctrl+alt+del, task manager (program not responding) end task.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI double click on a Jpeg it opens in Windows Paint instead of the Windows Fax and Picture viewer as it has always done.BMP and GIFS still open correctly When I check under properties it states that Windows Picture and Fax viewer is the programme it opens with and that is highlighted in the drop down column. I can open them when I use the right click drop down menu and select preview, then it will open in the viewer. I have ran Norton Antivirus, spybot, Ewido, adaware. Whenever I go to my computer/win explorer and try to right click on any item, i get an error in Windows Explorer with the send report and dont send option buttons. Im not able to do many things due to that. and this is not a virus or something I guess because I have a good AV software and I was using my PC throughout till yesterday evening when I shifted it from 1 room to another. When I double-click the icon, the icon gets highlighted, but the program or other folder does not open. I checked in the folder options, and it is set up so that when you double-click an icon, it opens the program. But the weird thing about it is that if I try to double-click or right-click an icon on my desktop.. it works like it should. So this really just doesn't make sense.
