I can no longer install any program with installshield. The process goes about 3/4th the way through and hangs up, no error message, it just stops. I have been able to install a program in safe mode but the program then does not work correctly. I also tried to uninstall a program and that process hangs up also.

Everytime we click on the icon change/remove it acts as if it's going to remove it but then it doesn't. This game has used 2,000 kb space on our computer and we are trying to free this space. Somehow the game has the icon for Wildtangent Games in the front of it and it is not part of that system. We have already removed the Wildtangent program and other Medal of Honor games successfully however, this one Medal of Honor game seems unable to be removed regardless of all our efforts. Can anyone please help us? We've done everything we know to do with no success.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to install the game Battlefield 2 on my PC (Pentium 4, 2.4 GHZ, 1024 MB RAM). However, after I press install, the InstallShield installer seems to gets stuck instantly whilst displaying the message "configuring your new software installation". The same thing happened when I tried to uninstall another game, Delta Force Xtreme, and also when I tried to install the MYOB Accounting program. I thought that maybe re-installing Service Pack 2 might help - but unfortunately that too uses the InstallShield Wizard and got stuck on the "inspecting configuration" message. The only way I can quit the installation from here is to End Task from the Task Manager.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a Win XP SP2 laptop and any software that uses installshield will not install. I get different errors depending on the particular program I'm trying to install. One example is "1607: Unable to install installshield scripting runtime". Everything else on the computer seems to be running fine. I've searched the web extensively for answers to this problem and I'm down to either reinstalling the Installshield program or reinstalling Win XP. Does anyone have info on how to solve this problem? Or does anyone know where to find the installshield program so I can reinstall it? Reinstalling Windows obviously has it's drawbacks.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a game today and wanted to install it. I put the cd in, and it says "The InstallShield Engine (ikernel.exe) could not be launched. No such interface supported." I've tried everything possible that google has to offer. I tried deleting the Engine file, but it won't delete. It would come right back. I tried looking for corrupt files in C:, nothing. I went to the Installshield consumers website. Nothing on there helped. I've tried all but downloading the latest version of ikernel, but the problem is I have to use the kernel program to install the latest kernel which isn't working. I hope that made sense. I saw I could use Windows Installer, but yeah I have no clue how to use that. I downloaded it, and I'm lost after that. It would be awesome if someone could give me walk through on using it or just tell me how to solve my original problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with my Installshield engine, and so I am unable to install/uninstall programs. I am running Windows XP home on a pentium IV, 2.4 GHZ with 512 ram. I think the problem started when I was installing a program called eBay Blackthorne from a download. Now, any install/uninstall is affected.
The error is "Internal error # 2738".
when I try to end them it takes an inordinately long time. Like two or more minutes. I bring up Task Manager, highlight the "not running " program and click "end task" which brings up another box that says "end program". But when I click this box nothing happens for at least a couple of minutes, quite often longer. I can repeat this process over and over and it makes no difference.

I installed winXP sp2 After installation, No Network connections.After trouble shooting I discovered that when I change the BIOS to enable on board ethernet, the MOBO recognizes that the PCI ethernet card is there and installs network connections...BUT, when I plug in the cable from the router, It does NOT see the bandwidth. It reads 10MBps when my laptop (plugged into the sme router ) reads 100. Additionally there is a green light on the back indicating that there is a connection AND my router lights up like something is connected.My device manager WILL show the ethernet card and that it is working properly. BUT no network connection (can't browse the I-net, can't connect to other computers on my network, PC is not visible to others on the network. total bytes sent and received remains 0.

2) i can no longer install any new updates from the update site. i can download them but when the install part starts, i get errors and asks me to debug them.makes no sense to me.

I downloaded a program from Ebay and after installing it I noticed it didn't have a uninstall. I used my add & remove program to uninstall the program but not all of it got uninstalled. I deleted the folder and then did a search in my registry for anything with refernce to the programs name "Ebay's Blackthorne" and deleted all entries with that name.Every time I reboot windows tries to install something for Blackthorne and I have to keep cancelling it out.

The Installshield process comes up in FRENCH instead of English. I have the English US version of Windows XP Pro. I download the US English version of the drivers. I live in Canada, so I am able to understand French and the install did install the English version of the drivers/files. How can I fix this, so it is back in English?

Just as the s/w begins to install I get a fatal error - (something like) "Unable to create a file that already exists ... C:Progam FilesCommon FilesInstallshieldengine6Intel 32iuser.dll" Since I was able to install the s/w on a friend's similar PC I think the problem is a compatability or bug with XP and/or the Installshield appln on my machine.
I followed some suggestions (from the Installshield support site) and cleaned up my temp file, deleted the 'Engine 6' folder and reinstalled the Installshield 'ikernal.exe' but this hasn't helped. Surprisingly when I tried to reinstall the 'ikernal' it also runs into exactly the same error! - so there is some issue with how the Installshield (Engine 6) is working on my PC.

So I ran the setup from command prompt and it ended up saying "Program Too Big To Fit Into Memory". At first I thought this was just a problem with this demo, until I tried to install the Starship Troopers Demo (Game) and it tried to install a third party audio system during install and hat installer did the exact same thing. I noticed that both of them appeared to Installshield brand and had the msi files with them. So I am assuming it's an issue with my computer
