View 2 Repliesthere is a way of removing some of the right click context menu with the help of TweakUI.
Since I have installed a few new drivers/Software I have been having trouble with my desktop right click menu, the apps I've installed have added 3 new items on this menu and they take ages to load, even though they are not really that necessary and can be accessed without right clicking. I have taken a screen-shot and wondered if there is any way of removing the 3 marked items from my right click menu.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI deleted a few items from Start Menu>Programs that I would like to restore. These items are (1) set program access and defaults (2) windows catalog and (3) windows update. I don't know where the .exe files are for me to copy back into the start menu folder or if there is a easier way to restore them.
View 4 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know how to add items to the section of the start menu with all the "MY" folders? I want to add my games and toolbox. I don't want them 'pinned to the start menu' because they will open in a window and I want them in a list, like in the advanced start menu controls. I read somewhere how to do this, but I don't remember where.

View 6 Replies View RelatedRemoving the title text from toolbar items such as Zaxxon and MSVDM (included in microsoft's powertoys) seems impossible when the taskbar is locked; however, if you right click the toolbar and uncheck "Lock the Taskbar", then right click in the area of the toolbar you'd like to remove the title from, the option "Show Title" is now available. Uncheck it and re-lock the taskbar and the space-hogging and otherwise unpleasant looking titles are gone.

View 6 Replies View RelatedSomething has happened to my installation of WinXP Pro. The Windows Explorer Right Click Menu has the selection "New" from which (among other things) I could chose to create a new folder.
Now when I right click and move to the "New" selection there is a dialog box the flickers on several times and then goes away and that's it. Nothing else. The dialog box goes away so fast it is hard to read but I THINK is says something about "Preparing to install".
I have never seen this problem before and haven't a clue how to fix it. Where in the registry is the stuff that controls what appears under the "New" selection? Perhaps it is corrupt in some way.
I sure hope someone can help me, this is a bummer.

My Dell 8400 with Windows XP Media Edition no longer gives me the option of watching live TV. The main menu does not even have it listed as a choice. I've tried opening the program directly from the Windows remote but the system is unresponsive. I've re-run the setup but that did not work. The cable line going into the computer has a good signal.

View 3 Replies View Relatedthat would show me what services on my PC I would be safe in temporarily stopping? I'm having some jitter in the capture of video through VIVO that I'm attributing to too many services running at once and using up so much resource. I can see it well enough in the final DVD production being played on a home DVD player that it is annoying. I can easily suspend the usual programs like anti-virus and such but there are a boatload of other services that run. If anyone knows of a program or a list that would indicate to me what services are mandatory.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy start menu insists on collapsing itself, hiding all but about 2 or 3 items. It's really annoying; I have to click on the arrow to expand the menu to get to most of my programs. Does anyone know how to stop this and force it to not hide anything?

I have tried changing the application location and then clicking on the Start Menu item so that I get an error message. The message asks whether I want to remove the item from the Start Menu and I click yes but that too does not work. I am tired of looking through the registry and cannot find anything relevant.
