Installshield Download Itunes / Quicktime Program Error
Jan 14, 2007
Cannot download latest i-tunes/quicktime program. Error message directs me to install latest version "isscript.msi". Same error. Even Loaded new driver. Same error..."install script engine on this machine is older than the version required to run set-up." I have no other downloading problems.
When trying to install a program on my Pc i get an error from installshield. "1607: Unable to install InstallShield Scripting Runtime." I read another post about this very issue on this site but the link given and the Installshield website as a whole have been down for the past 3 days.I need the ISScript7.zip file if possible to start my project.
I can no longer install any program with installshield. The process goes about 3/4th the way through and hangs up, no error message, it just stops. I have been able to install a program in safe mode but the program then does not work correctly. I also tried to uninstall a program and that process hangs up also.
On many occasions when I try to install various programs the Installshield wizard starts running and withing 1-2 seconds after the initial screen the program disappears with no errors or anything. I can never get the program or driver installed.
My husband and I have tried to uninstall his Medal of Honor game using the control panel program change/remove with no success. Everytime we click on the icon change/remove it acts as if it's going to remove it but then it doesn't. This game has used 2,000 kb space on our computer and we are trying to free this space. Somehow the game has the icon for Wildtangent Games in the front of it and it is not part of that system. We have already removed the Wildtangent program and other Medal of Honor games successfully however, this one Medal of Honor game seems unable to be removed regardless of all our efforts. Can anyone please help us? We've done everything we know to do with no success.
I've been trying to install the game Battlefield 2 on my PC (Pentium 4, 2.4 GHZ, 1024 MB RAM). However, after I press install, the InstallShield installer seems to gets stuck instantly whilst displaying the message "configuring your new software installation". The same thing happened when I tried to uninstall another game, Delta Force Xtreme, and also when I tried to install the MYOB Accounting program. I thought that maybe re-installing Service Pack 2 might help - but unfortunately that too uses the InstallShield Wizard and got stuck on the "inspecting configuration" message. The only way I can quit the installation from here is to End Task from the Task Manager.
When I try to install something that uses InstallShield I get the error The InstallShield Engine (iKernel.exe) could not be launched. Access is denied. I have full admin privileges and have tried using the dcomcnfg to see if I my privilages have changed. But dcomcnfg closes whenever I try to access the "Component ServicesComputers" section.
Trouble unistalling itunes and itunes helper. I'm cleaning out for some space and rid myself of programs I don't use.I've tried to uninstall itunes and itunes helper I have used windows add/remove program to no avail. Tried numerous times but it/they remain, even though it says complete. Reboot etc. nothing. Any tricks or procedures or to get rid of it/them for good?
I am having a major problem trying to install some s/w (Sansa MediaConverter) on my P4, Win XP SP2 PC. Just as the s/w begins to install I get a fatal error - (something like) "Unable to create a file that already exists ... C:Progam FilesCommon FilesInstallshieldengine6Intel 32iuser.dll" Since I was able to install the s/w on a friend's similar PC I think the problem is a compatability or bug with XP and/or the Installshield appln on my machine.
I followed some suggestions (from the Installshield support site) and cleaned up my temp file, deleted the 'Engine 6' folder and reinstalled the Installshield 'ikernal.exe' but this hasn't helped. Surprisingly when I tried to reinstall the 'ikernal' it also runs into exactly the same error! - so there is some issue with how the Installshield (Engine 6) is working on my PC.
Bought new game software and ready to install. Placed disc in drive and bang, within seconds receive an error message reading: an error has occurred while running setup. Please make sure you have finished any previous setups and closed other applications..." Then the details of this Error 5003 goes as follows:
Error Code:-5003 : 0x5 Error Information: >SetupDLLSetupDLL.cpp (1964) PAPP:Star Wars? Knights of the Old Republic? II: The Sith Lords(TM) PVENDOR:LucasArts PGUID:629F65FB-7F3C-4D66-A1C0-20722744B7B6 $10.0.0.159 @Windows XP Service Pack 2 (2600) IE 6.0.2900.2180
Now, to make a long story short...Did a safe boot...nothing...closed all running applications and software using task manager when doing so..(closing anti-virus, firewalls disabled and spyware detectors and all). still nothing. Updated ATI driver...nothing.........
I'm trying to download the Opera browser, but when I do, it goes though the steps of installing and then I get the following error: Internal Error 2932C:DocumentsandSettingsCompaq_OwnerApplicationDataMicrosoftInstalle r(C619B312-19F3-460A-9F7B-443248379F18)ARPRODUCTICON.exe,131 I've tried several registry cleaners, etc. but can't fix the problems.
I have a problem with my Installshield engine, and so I am unable to install/uninstall programs. I am running Windows XP home on a pentium IV, 2.4 GHZ with 512 ram. I think the problem started when I was installing a program called eBay Blackthorne from a download. Now, any install/uninstall is affected. The error is "Internal error # 2738".
I know I am not the only one to have this issue, but have not seen a real fix. When our lab users try to save or open Hotmail attachments (Doc, PDF, XLS) recieve the error "Internet Explorer cannot download 94ea from 64.4.61.250. Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailiable or cannot be found.
I have a .mov on my system that will play on a Mac, but not on a PC. I've tried it on various Windows machines, various Quicktime versions, and I have tons of codecs. The error I get when trying to open it in quicktime is "Error - 2048: the file is not a movie file" Trying to open it in Media Player Classic tells me it cannot render it. I also cannot convert it to another format. VirtualDub, among other converters, won't pick it up. I can't tell you the Mac version is plays on, but I am confident it is at least a year or two old.
I installed quicktime trying to get a video to work for an online class. However, it didn't work so I installed it again thinking it didn't take the first time. The video still wouldn't work. So now I have quicktime installed twice and would like to remove them if it's not going to work, isn't it stuff like this that slows down the PC? When I find it I only get the option to delete not uninstall. How do I uninstall these? And if anyone knows why Quicktime won't work on my computer could you tell me if I can make it work somehow? I have a windows xp home edition about 5 years old, 2600+ processor,512MB,80GB, HP Pavilion 525C(hope this is the info you need) Worse yet, I'm a clueless newbie who don't know much of anything. I would like to get quicktime to work, but if I can't to get rid of both installs. I get a message that says something about needing xpsp2, whatever that means.
How do I stop Quicktime from loading? I've tried MSConfig and services.msc.I can't see it referenced anywhere. I don't want to uninstall it - just want it not to startup when Windows starts up.
I am having problems downloading any programs. Including my auto updates. I contacted my Internet service and they believe that this is a spy-ware problem. They ran me through different things to try and I still cannot download. Every time I try I get a pop up that states Microsoft has encountered a problem and needs to close. I was able to set up temp web page through my Internet service, but am unable to complete the process due top the fact that I cannot download.
Downloaded a zip file I accidentally unchecked the always ask for this file type check box.A Now when I download a zip file it downloads in the background and then runs my win zip program. In Control Panel/Folder Options/File Types Tab: At the very bottom of the list should be ZIP file. A Click the advanced and place a check mark back on Confirm Open A After A Download.

It downloaded some updates, but when it tries to download sp2 nothing happens and then it said just failed to download no error codes etc. Should get it on Swedish. I can't get on the computer whole time and my sister have not the courage to do things on her computer.
After recovering from a Windows XP Home SP2 crash, I received a message to reinstall iTunes. When I tried to uninstall in Add/Remove Programs, in preparation for reinstalling, the UninstallShield Wizard came up and then disappeared with no follow-on.
When I go to driver guide.com and click to download something I come up with a message saying, "Error: documents.getElementsByTagName("title"){0}has no properties. What does this mean?
I'm attempting to help a friend who is not very computer capable. She has Win XP Pro, SP 2, and I believe IE 6. She has been getting a bunch of error messages (IE has encountered a problem and must close). I don't have access to her comp, but wondered if anyone knew of a possible reason. I suggested that she d/l IE 7, however, everytime she tried, she got the same message and was kicked to the "send/don't send" box for the Microsoft "problem" reporting and then to desktop.
I tried to dowload some codecs to watch a movie (without success), my computer is running very badly. It always freezes and I have to reboot or it responds very very slowly. The only hint I have is a Windows type error message which pops-up at almost each boot kdyow.exe - Application Error exception Breakpoint A breakpoint has been reached.(0x80000003) occured in the application at location 0x00411ccc.Whether I choose either one of the option, it always come back and my computer is having a very hard time running. Did I catch a virus of some sort ? I searched the Internet and the breakpoint thing seems to be frequent, as well as the 0x80000003 but nothing about the 0x00411ccc?
