View 4 Replies View RelatedI had media player 9 than I upgraded to 10 thinking it would solve the problem but it didnt. Everytime I play an mpeg or an avi file(or any video file) I cant control the brightness, hue etc it just snaps back to default settings everytime I move the slider to the left or right.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI currently have a video on my disk in a folder (yes I needed to specify this ). My problem happens when I go into this folder: windows hangs, and when I hit CTRL + ALT + DEL I see drwtsn.exe running. When I close it down exporer just restarts. This problem happens with no other video file I have. I have tried: renaming the video and the folder (done quickly before windows freezes) aswell as placing the file on another partition (though I can't do this because windows hangs when I try to move it).
I have a 'clean' computer meaning it's always kept free of viruses, spyware, adaware and all my security programs are updated and executed regularly. This problem is pretty annoying as there are other files in this folder that I can't always access in time!
I had a .dll file disappear due to the loading of a new video driver. I have googled it and downloaded it, but I don't know where to place it within my windows directory tree in order to solve the problem. I have tried to place it in the windows root directory, the windows/system directory, and the windows/system32 directory, all to no avail.
The .dll file is MSVCP71.DLL.Can anyone point me in the right direction?
When I try to download a short video or the supposid missing file I get this message. C:DOCUME/`1OWNERLOCALS~1TEMPqrorw03.exe be as source file could not be read. I guess I really haven't the faintest idea what this is all about. I have to assume that I have a file missing.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a video file (12.2GB) from my digital video camera, made my movies and saved them, then I deleted the downloaded file but the memory (12.2GB) is still occupied on my system. After defragmenting my hard drive the report tells me the 12.2GB file is unable to be defragemented so I know the file is somewhere but I can not find the AVI file nor the folders RECYCLER or NPROTECT. This is eating a huge chunk of my hard drive and I need to get rid of it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedRight clicking on any video file causes the screen to blank/black for a portion of a second, but when it comes back the correct menu is open from the right click. Everything works perfect on the PC, but this bugs me to no end.

I'm also using this KVM switch

Come to think of it, the blank/black screen I'm talking about looks exactly like when I switch between PC's using the KVM. But only one of the PCs has this quirk.
Tried opening a video file that was changed from MSWMM in Movie Make towmv.Previous files opened when I changed them to WMV. This iswhat I get when I try to open file: "Unrecognized format for 'D:Documents and Settings(name of file).wmv'".

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have XP fax working fine except I want all incoming faxes to auto store into a folder on another hard drive on another computer. I can't get it to do anything other than store into a folder on the computer it is installed on. All the other computers are accessable via the LAN etc.
View 4 Replies View RelatedFor reason(s) unknown to me, when I now select "thumbnails" or "tiles" from the View menu of my video files listing page, I am no longer getting thumbnail pictures embedded on the individual video files, just icons depicting what format file it is such as WMV, MPEG, etc.
View 11 Replies View RelatedTrouble watching video from one of my hard drives (XP). At first I thought it was a codec problem so I uninstalled and reinstalled the codecs but that never worked.
Then I tried watching video on the other hard drive and no problem there.
I confirmed that its a hard drive problem when I tried to copy one of the files from the problematic hard drive, it showed 30mins left where it normally takes 1-2mins.
I checked to see if the channel was in PIO mode but all are in DMA.
I used to be able to grab a video clip form the internet and save it to my computor. Now when I grab a video with a wmv extension and do a "save target as" it only saves it as a htm file and does not grab the video itself.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a HP Pavilion a250Y running a Pentium 4 with WinXP Home.
The "installed" 80GB HD has had it's boot sector scrambled and will no longer boot up. I installed a second 20GB HD from a previous HP computer that I now have up and running with Win XP Home. I want to reformat the 80GB HD and would like to temporarily store data from this drive onto the 20GB HD. The main concern I have is that the larger drive is formated in NTSF and the smaller in FAT32.
Questions:
#1 Can I store the NTSF data on the FAT32 drive just to keep it protected with only the intent to transfer it back to the 80GB HD after reformating?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an application that uses the environment variable ClientName to store some information. It looks like this env. variable is set in the registry in the hkcu hive. It is set for console, is this some sort of default and can I change it? Do I have to change it here or is there a control panel somewhere that handles this setting? I first looked in the System control panel, under Environment Variables but didn't see it there at all. I want to set this to the machine name cause I have a number of identical systems and they are currently all set the same, I'd like them unique.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Win XP Pro SP2 I also have an external Lacie 250GB hard disk I want to store my Virtual PC files on. But, it is formatted at FAT32 and I can't put a file on there that is over 4GB. So, I tried to convert the drive to NTFS, but Windows won't let me do this. It keeps telling me the disk is dirty and to run chkdsk / f. Which I have done and completes fine finding no problems on the drive. Yet convert e: /fs:NTFS still does not convert the drive reporting it is dirty. What is causing this and how do I fix it? I have tons of data on the drive so I can't re-partition it as I don't want to loose that data. I need to convert it to NTFS.
