View 4 RepliesFor reason(s) unknown to me, when I now select "thumbnails" or "tiles" from the View menu of my video files listing page, I am no longer getting thumbnail pictures embedded on the individual video files, just icons depicting what format file it is such as WMV, MPEG, etc.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI currently have a video on my disk in a folder (yes I needed to specify this ). My problem happens when I go into this folder: windows hangs, and when I hit CTRL + ALT + DEL I see drwtsn.exe running. When I close it down exporer just restarts. This problem happens with no other video file I have. I have tried: renaming the video and the folder (done quickly before windows freezes) aswell as placing the file on another partition (though I can't do this because windows hangs when I try to move it).
I have a 'clean' computer meaning it's always kept free of viruses, spyware, adaware and all my security programs are updated and executed regularly. This problem is pretty annoying as there are other files in this folder that I can't always access in time!
I had a .dll file disappear due to the loading of a new video driver. I have googled it and downloaded it, but I don't know where to place it within my windows directory tree in order to solve the problem. I have tried to place it in the windows root directory, the windows/system directory, and the windows/system32 directory, all to no avail.
The .dll file is MSVCP71.DLL.Can anyone point me in the right direction?
When I try to download a short video or the supposid missing file I get this message. C:DOCUME/`1OWNERLOCALS~1TEMPqrorw03.exe be as source file could not be read. I guess I really haven't the faintest idea what this is all about. I have to assume that I have a file missing.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a video file (12.2GB) from my digital video camera, made my movies and saved them, then I deleted the downloaded file but the memory (12.2GB) is still occupied on my system. After defragmenting my hard drive the report tells me the 12.2GB file is unable to be defragemented so I know the file is somewhere but I can not find the AVI file nor the folders RECYCLER or NPROTECT. This is eating a huge chunk of my hard drive and I need to get rid of it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedRight clicking on any video file causes the screen to blank/black for a portion of a second, but when it comes back the correct menu is open from the right click. Everything works perfect on the PC, but this bugs me to no end.

Biostar Tforce
AMD Opty 165

I'm also using this KVM switch

Come to think of it, the blank/black screen I'm talking about looks exactly like when I switch between PC's using the KVM. But only one of the PCs has this quirk.
Tried opening a video file that was changed from MSWMM in Movie Make towmv.Previous files opened when I changed them to WMV. This iswhat I get when I try to open file: "Unrecognized format for 'D:Documents and Settings(name of file).wmv'".

View 7 Replies View RelatedTrouble watching video from one of my hard drives (XP). At first I thought it was a codec problem so I uninstalled and reinstalled the codecs but that never worked.
Then I tried watching video on the other hard drive and no problem there.
I confirmed that its a hard drive problem when I tried to copy one of the files from the problematic hard drive, it showed 30mins left where it normally takes 1-2mins.
I checked to see if the channel was in PIO mode but all are in DMA.
I used to be able to grab a video clip form the internet and save it to my computor. Now when I grab a video with a wmv extension and do a "save target as" it only saves it as a htm file and does not grab the video itself.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running Windows XP Home, with SP2.Currently, in the My Pictures folder, all my photos are represented as a thumbnail. However, on each thumbnail, there is a significant amount of white space at the top and bottom, that is left over. You will know what I mean if you look at my avatar.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen using My Computer to view files, as it attempts to load thumbnails of .avi, or wmv. files either in the main window, or in the preview pane, many files cause the OS to freeze solid. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason, and sometimes the same file will work, then freeze the next time. The freeze requires a "press and hold" of the power button to turn off the system. I don't get a blue screen, the existing one just locks up solid, and my cursor becomes immobile. No keys will function, nothing.
