.dll File Disappear Due To The Loading Of A New Video Driver
Aug 3, 2005
I had a .dll file disappear due to the loading of a new video driver. I have googled it and downloaded it, but I don't know where to place it within my windows directory tree in order to solve the problem. I have tried to place it in the windows root directory, the windows/system directory, and the windows/system32 directory, all to no avail.
The .dll file is MSVCP71.DLL.Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I have a problem with Win XP not loading. It stops during the loading process. It does not matter if I try a normal boot, any of the safe mode boots or boot from a startup disk. I know what he problem and what the for the problem is, but I do not know how to accomplish the fix. The problem is caused by a corrupted driver file (agp440.sys). This is for video. If I do a normal boot it stops at tis file. The fix is to disable the file. But to do that I have to have Win loaded. I need a utility that will by pass the Win boot process and give me access to the files on the HDD so I can disable the agp440.sys file. I cannot find such a utility.
Some startup/recovery disks claim to not use Win to boot, but the one's I have tried stop installing at the same place Win XP stops, at the agp440.sys file. MS has a KB for the problem, but it requires being able to access the files on the HDD and disable the agp440.sys file. I could take the HDD out and connect it to another box to do the disabling, but I currently do not have another box. I an in a remote location without easy access to another computer. how I can make the repair without erasing the HDD, reformatting it and reinstalling everything?
I have thought that my Internet explorer was messed up.So I downloaded Mozilla, I still think that it is messed up but I have another problem now, The thing that is messed up with internet explorer is when you go to a website like utube.com or street fire.net to watch a video on internet explorer it would show the video for a split second and then it would disappear, but when you went on to mozilla and went to any website with any video it was fine. so i thought it was a problem with internet explorer, then the problem proceeded to windows media player, the computer would rather free or restart itself with any program that played videos, so you would think the problem is with the video card, well that what i was thinking because i have been having this problem all night with windows movie maker trying to make a video it would restart itself, well i finally got so fedup that i sent the error report after it recovered from a serious error and it popped up a microsoft help page saying it was a video driver error, so i updated it restarted same problem so i went to display advanced did what it said same problem but the send error report popped up a different error this time said it was from a device driver but it didnt know which one and it wanted me to test direct draw, where it shows u black and white triangles and such and asks you if you saw them, well on the third part of the test where it shows a white ball bouncing full screen it showed that then flashed the blue screen with tons of words and restarted and same thing when you try it again, so my question is, what could this be? I just want to fix all of my video problems. I went into my device manager and it says that the device is currently functioning properly. And if you are going to respond please explain well because I am not very computer savvy I just know a little.
My video card has just flat disappeared. For the record I'm running a generic pc rebuild with a new mother board, Athelon 2400,a Radeon 9600 video card,WXP Home (vers 2002,includes servpack2). It's been working fine for several years.I installed the new WXP ,replacing the embedded one that came with my pc. I went to Windows Update and downloaded everything they said I needed. I began to have a problem with a video game so I went to the source (ATI)and downloaded new drivers for my card,(3 years old.) But install failed, giving me"Try to set up your display adapter with a standard VGA driver before running setup.". Then I discovered I couldn't find my card anywhere. Display manager doesn't list a Display Adapter. "Settings/ Adapter" says unavailable for each item, and properties says "unknown", but it's working properly. Properties/Hardware does not list it. Somewhere in there Troubleshooter ended up saying "null" straight across the board but I dont know where it was. Belarc even says "none detected".I cant restore to an earlier point because there isn't one. And the kicker is, I dont have the cd's for the video card.
I found a very similar problem in the archives from 2004 that said XP install's it's own drivers (checked add/remove and yeah, their gone) but it also said un-install the display adapter in device manager, but, it isn't there. The card is working, obviously, but not to the level it should be. I remember somebody once saying "when you start having trouble, think about what your last download was." Mine was all those updates from windows. I didn't include the Belarc info cuz I'm long-winded & ran out of room.
i have an upgraded comp from windows 98 2nd edition to windows xp. i frequently get messages telling me my virtual memory paging file size is too low causing progs to disappear. i have tried help&support pages at microsoft but i dont know what size my min or max page file size should be.the ram on my comp is 192mb.
just got a new computer recently and updated the media player to windows media player 11 but when i try to play a video file it just plays the audio with no video.. anyone know why this is or have any tips?
you know download site for VGA compatiable video drivers for Win XP Pro? I've been to ATI, ASUS, and even downloads.com but I can't seem. I'm installing on a clean hard drive.
I am having a problem with the Sisgrv display and I need to update my video driver but the problem is for some reason I am having trouble finding out exactly what I need to update. How do I find out what video driver this system uses I know this is a very basic question, but I recently switched computers
I have a new video driver for my monitor but cannot install it. I am running XP Home Edition. I go to settings>advanced>monitor but the properties button is grayed out and I cannot select it.
I am getting an error while trying to install the latest international drivers for my laptop computer Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 (build 2600) NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5700 [Display adapter] 3.20 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4, 8 kilobyte primary memory cache 512 kilobyte secondary memory cache
Currently I have only 16 colors and 800x600 desktop area. NT is using the "Default Monitor" and I did not boot in VGA mode. My video card is AccelGraphics Venus DGX4 Rev 2.1A . I tried to find a driver and what I did find was for Win98. I tried that and it started asking for files - vbrun300.dll and I could find that, then it asked for threed.vbx - is this going to work even if I get all the required files? Is there a NT driver for this video card?
I get a little pop-up message you know. install latest windows xp updates so i'm like. OK i'l just get this over and done with. I turn the computer off let windows do it's thing, turn it back on now I'm getting dots on the screen. They look like little droplets and most of the time they're blue. i get to the windows xp log-in screen now this is the "fun" (annoying/main part). WHENEVER I move my mouse cursor over the account tabs the computer just freeze's then the screen goes black, doesn't do anything after that. So I gave my friend a call who's a computer technician, he said that my video card is blown and that I will have to get a new one. My heart just dropped out of my but there for about 5 minutes. I gave my brother a call and he thinks otherwise. He said to do a system restore but this is another "fun" (annoying/main part). I'm trying to do a system restore on the PC (in safe mode) and it doesn't want to seem to work. First of all there are NO bold dates to choose from which is very strange as I applied a Windows XP update shortly before I did this update that screwed the PC up. And nothing came up, and another even f'd up thing is that I can' choose what months to go from. That little arrow that let's go go to previous months and months after? Click that, doesn't do anything. So I gotta wait for my bro to come back from Canberra for the meantime which should be i n around a weeks time or so. But ugh I can't wait that long i'm gonna die of boredom here. So I am begging all.. of you. from the bottom of my heart, is there ANYTHING absolutely ANYTHING I could do to FIX this? I'm so close to throwing this thing out the window Badluck seems to be coming from all sides at me lately and I really can't put up with this.
I recently had to reformat my PC and now I need to reinstall my video card and sound card drivers. The only problem is, I don't have the driver CD anymore. when I try to find out what my video/sound cards are I draw a blank because they don't seem to be displayed anywhere (display properties/settings/advanced/adapter). All adapter type and adapter information are all I know my video card is ATI but that's all I know and as for the sound card - I haven't a clue what make that is. I've been on the ATI website but there are so many drivers I don't know which one to download/install.
Day three and I'm frustrated. I know it's something I am doing. I have Win2K installed. It installed the default VGA monitor. I have the video drivers for Trident Blade 3d/mvp4. This is a onboard video. When I use add new hdw, and add new dev, have disk, I see the options for trident drivers. When I select any of them, Windoze complains it can't find the auto settings and will not install. I am doing wrong, other than using 2K does any one have the drivers for a soundmax
My dell 4700 says it is using a "generic" video driver and I should install the proper one from manufacturer. tried dell driver site, clik download and takes me to a "internet connection failure" screen. internet is fine though. problem started trying to play Sims apt. life and new program for VHS to DVD transfer. both said DirectX 9 was problem- reinstalled that then found "generic" video driver.
This tweak is used prevent windows XP from using mirror Video driver when accesing some program.1.Some program or games like Ghost Recon, use alternate Video driver when it can't recognise the Primary Video card driver.2.Alternate driver lack AGP support and performance. So this tweak will prevent window XP from using this alternate driver whenever it was called for.3.Some bug may appear when using the primary Video driverHere's how to do it:-Run Regedit.-Go to. --> "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEM CurrentControlSetControlVideo"-There will be 4 'display device GUID' key.-Expand all 4 key.-Open the 'subkey' labelled "000" -Change any 'DWORD' value labelled "MirrorDriver" from '1' to '0'.-Close regedit, restart.4. My graphic card is soo slow (SiS based graphiccard) so, if my AGP texturing capabilities disabled, my computer will go soo slow.5. I use a program named "POWERSTRIP" to determine my AGP capabilities (and to overclockmy Graphic Card).
I aquired this PC second hand from a friend a few years ago. I know there were "questionable" things loaded on this pc before they gave it to me. (you know, single adult male had this pc and attempted to clean it up before letting me have it...THOSE kind of questionable files).Anyway, it's never been super speedy but since I loaded some video capture software (Capwiz, Ulead Video studios) a couple years ago it's been slow. I haven't really cared enough to try to fix it but now it's getting pretty rediculous. I found some stuff in msconfig that I disabled (one was WKUfind, or something like that. I feel like I remember seeing that on some spyware stuff before)
I have a Dell D600 Latitude that was working fine, then i opened and email that i thought was from my sister and now my network adapter is not recognized and reflects the yellow!. I bought a Linksys USB ethernert adapter and get the same result. The drivers cannot load.I have no way of connecting this computer to the internet to run updated virus software or go to Dell to run diagnostics.
HP Pavilion 6870us laptop. As you can research, this computer came with an nVidia GeForce 8400gs graphics card to accompany Windows Vista. (Ick) I don't say that from a very valid standpoint, for I just find XP much lighter and easier to navigate. Like I'm running the computer, not the other way around. Well, I used the Vista installed partitioner to segregate a little chunk of my hard drive so that I could put XP onto the computer as well as Vista. While this was successful, I'm having a miserable time trying to find a driver for this video card. I've tried installing the Vista version, but it starts screaming that I'm retarded and that it's only for Vista (naturally). I know most of the drivers that were used in the Vista format work for XP as well.
I was updating a video driver, then restarted my computer. It takes a LONG time to boot up, then flashes an error message on the screen for a second, then restarts. I've tried holding down F8 to startup in safe mode, but it doesn't respond. Also, even when I have the win xp CD in while rebooting to try to repair the OS (yes, the CD drive is the 1st boot device), it won't recognize the CD either. I'm in a heap of trouble without my computer;
I was surfing around and then all of a sudden my wallpaper is a warning box saying that there is spyware detected and I need to install an antivirus or spyware remover to clean up my computer. When I right click the desktop it just has "themes, appearance, and settings" no "desktop" or "screensaver" By the way it's on a Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop.
I am trying to upgrade from a Powered By ATI Radeon 9200 SE Gamer video card to a manucfatured by ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon X800 XT 256Mb AGP video card. While trying to uninstall the driver for my old GeCube Radeon 9200 SE card, I get the following error message: It says RUNDLL in the very upper left corner. The error message says, "C:WINDOWSsystem32atiiiiexx.dll,_InfEngUnstallFFile_RunDll@16 -Force_restart-flags:0x2010001 -inf_class:DISPLAY -clean" NOTE: where the smiley is, it should be D My system is a custom-built AMD Athlon 64-bit 3000+ with 1Gb RAM running XP Pro
After I formatted my computer, the sound of my pc lost and our monitor starts to flitter every time i scroll down. I'm thinking that our video card had been erased and need to be install again but I don't know how. I've already look in device manager but its not there.
I have the XP Auto Update feature set to notify me of available updates but not to download or install. After installing the latest driver, the 93.71 version I'm getting the Notification Icon on the task bar telling me an update for the Nvidia Card is available, version 52.16, I guess the basic update that was downloaded as part of the SP3 update. Is there a way to dismiss this update so that it doesn't continue to appear? For some reason the auto update doesn't recognize there is a newer driver available, the WHQL 93.71.
Running XP Home on a desktop machine - When desktop loading - windows background is normal - as load gresses to load icons the screen goes all blue then changes to white background. Not able to change this themes show as 'modified theme' Unable to change this or the background colors ! The system was heavily infected with virus/adware but is now clean.. AL,, I have updated video (SIS Mirage driver) No errors shown in device manager.
I had media player 9 than I upgraded to 10 thinking it would solve the problem but it didnt. Everytime I play an mpeg or an avi file(or any video file) I cant control the brightness, hue etc it just snaps back to default settings everytime I move the slider to the left or right.
