Where Internet Explorer store proxy settings Tools -Internet options -Connections -LAN settings -Proxy server.Does it store it into registry? For example, I need test a big quantity of proxy servers, some of them not work, etc. So, all this information, filled
in Address, Port fields will store in registry? It will litter registry with unnecessary garbage? Does all this old settings will kepts in registry?
Where is the IE6 folder/data stored in the windows folder? Or is it even stored there? i looked around a little, wasn't to great of a search.. but does any one know? and not mind yelling at me for it.

I have TSWEB running on one of two home PCs, and I'd like to remote desktop to the other. This tests corectly from home, and I can get to the TSWEB machine from here
at work. My TSWEB machine listens for HTTP on port 401 (http://homepc:401/tsweb), and the machine I want to remote to is using standard 3389. My router is forwarding port 401 to the TSWEB machine, and is forwarding port 3389 to the remote desktop machine. My questions are below Am I correct in assuming that the TSWEB machine is not acting as a proxy for RDP packets?

It used to be just fine, until I installed some pay-for-viewing add program. I have uninstalled it since then, but the slowness remains. And the processor is hogged, at the highest level, even though i killed many a startup processes.

I am using WIn XP at work using a dial-up method to get on the Internet and to access Emails. However.this is not ideal when it comes to WIndows Updates and Anti-Virus Updates and the dial-up is labourourly slow(.as you all know!!).I am way behind in the updates and would take for-ever to catch up.I have Broadband at home on my own PC and am wondering can I just unplug my Work PC and plug it in at home and down load the Updates overnight via the Broadband. The next morning I will unplug again and carry into work and reconnect. I will then ensure that I stay updated with a daily logon to the Update sites.

Now whenever I try to start Windows Explorer or Internet Explorer the windows installer starts and the windows will not open until I have cancelled the installer several times. I called Comcast they ran all the diagnosis from their end and said something got corrupted in Internet Explorer. Now I am trying to use the Campus internet, but I forgot the settings I need to use. When I access the Campus internet, sometimes there is a small window that pop-up and ask for the username, password and domain. But, since the drivers are "fresh" those settings are gone. I am trying to find a way to re-establish those settings. Unfortunate, the campus staff for this are on vacation. class are over.
