I'm using Windows XP and I've been having problems with some MP3 files in regards to album artwork and tagging. I've discovered that it's my album folders that have been tagged (most likely by me) to have a custom Folder Picture.I want to remove all the Folder Pictures from my music album folders. I fear I will have to do one by one (which is a LOT!) unless I can find a reverse procedure in the program I suspect caused this to happen. That program is Tag&Rename, and I suspect I accidentally added custom pictures to these folders when I was adding album art to the individual music files

View 4 Replies View RelatedI use the standard picture handling feature that came with XP-Home on my computer in 2002. When flagging a picture and clicking on 'Email This File', I used to be given the option to reduce the picture size for the email. This size-reduction option disappeared some months ago but I wasn't too bothered as my file sizes were quite small anyway. However it's a real nuisance now that I take/file all photos at maximum resolution. Before I email a picture, especially to someone on dial-up, I now have to open Photoshop Elements and reduce the file size
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy operating system is Windows XP. Everytime I open up a file extension of .JPG it opens up in Paint Shop Pro. I don't know Paint Shop Pro yet to be able to work in it. Is there anyway I can change the file extension of JPG to open up with Microsoft Picture Manager? If so, can you please map out the steps I need to take to change the file extension?
View 4 Replies View RelatedSometimes I will highlight a range of photo files and open them into Picture and Fax viewer. I can then page through all the photos I selected. Occasionally though, I will load a range of photos into the viewer and photos from outside the range I selected get loaded into the viewer. When this has happened, I've gone back and reselected the range and tried it again and still get pictures loading from outside the range I wanted. Also, I notice on the viewer's print wizard that pictures/documents from outside my range of selected documents are sometimes presented for printing. Anyone know how that happens and how do you fix it?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently uninstalled Norton Antivirus and started using another anti virus program by Computer Associates. After my first scan these hidden files called thumbs.db started showing up in all my picture folders and the other folders that I have the view set to Thumbnails or Tiles. This happened after the first scan. By the way there are no virus' on my machine as far as I can tell. I have gone into the folder view options to make sure that hidden files and system files are still hidden, and they are. But these files are still showing. I have even set my computer to Do Not Cache Thumbnails to try and fix this and that didn't work. I tried to delete these files and I get an error message.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedFor a while now "Thumbs.db" files have been appearing in association with other files/folders. They took me by surprise, and I decided to delete. However, there is a warning that the 'system' may need them. What do I do with them? Especially when I am deleting a whole folder.

How do I make those icon words blend in with the picture?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to write a batch file that will create subfolders based on the name of the parent folder. So if the folder that I am working in is named "dg2001-10-19" then I want the batch file to create 3 subfolders named "dg2001-10-19 - WTA", "dg2001-10-19 - BHMM" and "dg2001-10-19 - files". In the other folders that I am working in I want it to work the same way - for a folder named "disc" it would create "disc - WTA", "disc - BHMM" and "disc - files" and place them in the disc folder. If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it. I realize that this is probably a simple thing but I am not very familiar with programming or batch files.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have had this problem for a couple of years now, even in a few different computers. I have a folder with files I am keeping, copying it from computer to computer when I change computers. In this folder I am unable to see folder/file names unless I mark them. This has irritated me to some extent since there are around 12-13000 files in this folder by now. I have asked around at computer-tech stores, and some of my more or less nerdy friends. One of wich is mostly always able to help me but not with this.

In some folders, there are some files that don't have the correct permissions for me to move them. I get this message on NEW when I try to copy them over: Destination Folder Access Denied You need permission to perform this action
The folder that these files are in on OLD has the correct permissions set, but for some reason some, not all, of the files within it have not inherited the correct permissions level. I can't figure out how to change the permissions level of these individual files. When I right-click on the problematic files in OLD, I do not see a Security tab.

It's done this before and I've always let it with no problem.I fired up my computer yesterday and discovered that all my e-mail folders, all received and sent messages have disappeared.I thought my wife may have accidentally erased the files so I checked the Recycle Bin. There were several .bak files with the same names of the file folders.I figured hit the restore button and the files would be restored.
