Reformat - Error - Shut Down To Prevent Damage To Computer

I have a ton of spyware and such on my computer and wanted to start fresh with a reformat. I put my XP disc in and tried to boot from the CD. When I tried to select a fresh partition I got the following error: A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If this is the first time you ahve seen this error screen, restart yoru computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps: Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driver is identified in the stop
message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates. Try changing video adapters.

She can't get into windows at all. When I turn on her computer it goes to a black screen that gives me a choice to boot in safe mode, safe mode with command prompt, last known good configuration. It is Windows XP Dell Laptop. I've tried them all, everytime it just goes straight to the same Blue Screen with same message. She doesnt have a recovery cd with her.

This problem just started yesterday, all because i think of when the power breaker went. It was in the middle of Shutting down windows and the power breaker went so my computer got shut off incorrectly. I started getting a memory dump screen when i tried to log into windows. So i put in the windows disk and did a Repair Install. that worked fine, I got it working and everything. Then I got a windows update installed from MS website... the whole Automatic Updare thing. Then I went to restart the comp cuz it was required, then my system could not load past the login screen, just always did a memory dump. so i went and tryed to Repair windows again, now i get this error

So first of all, I have a Dell Inspiron 600m with Windows XP Home SP3. Some background info that may or may not be relevant: I just had this OS installed though the computer is several years old (I had an ingenuine XP Pro before I cleared my C drive and installed a genuine XP Home). The XP installed was SP1 and then I did all the WUDs up to now I where I have SP3. Also, during that period, I had done a repair install because of some error I was getting following installation of a WUD. I don't know if any of that will be relevant at all, but just thought I should mention it.

I was recently trying to install Medieval Total War II onto my computer. I've had it installed before in the past, and it worked fine on my computer. My computer is not booting up. A while back while using my computer a blue screen popped up saying that windows encountered an error and that it would shut down to prevent damage. When that happened I simply restarted my computer and everything was fine. This happened one or two times later and everything was fine. Today it happened again and when I went to restart it it the blue screen popped up immediately after that. On the third time I went to restart it the computer just said boot failure and did nothing. Every time I try to restart it does the same thing. It will let me press f2 for the start up settings but when I press f8 for safe mode it does nothing.

There's a very annoying program called dfg shutdown installed on my computer that shuuting down my computer at certain time.I can't uninstall that program.Is there a way to prevent my computer from shutting down?

I have recently been getting a "blue screen of death" or windows crash screen and have been trying to get a solution. I was running a computer game several days ago and began to notice crackling in the speakers every now and then and became concerned. It has an MSI board, Celeron D cedermill at 2.2ghz. Western Digital 160gb sata drive. I don't think any of that really matters, but heres the problem. When trying to install windows XP, after loading all the drivers it needs and it gets to 'starting windows' a blue screen comes up saying something like 'your system was turned off to prevent further damage. The hard drive works fine in another system, and so doesn't installing xp. I put the hard drive with xp installed. It tries to load, same screen. But it installs windows 2000 without glitch.

Before I explain my problem, I'd like to say that this seems to be a registry problem. I tried installing Taksi three days ago and got this message "The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation." and it didn't really bother me, checking out different software is a hobby of mine, it's not like I actually I needed it. Everytime I turn off my computer by clicking on "turn off computer," I receive an error message popup that states "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to be closed." After that pop-up message, the computer freezes for about a minute and goes back to its normal format (desktop) and the computer DOES NOT TURN OFF. How do I turn off my computer without unplugging the computer? I try "ctrl+alt+del" to go to the windows task manager to "shut down" the computer but..the computer restarts again and doesnt turn off. Lately my PC has become infected with a number of viruses. It started with a fake Secuirty tool called 'XP Secuirty Tool'. Using Hitman Pro 3.5 and Spybot I thought I got rid of it until a few days ago when more started to appear on my PC, with Hitman picking them up and removing them. The last one I that appeared I think was XP Defender and caused my PC to lock.After restarting and running Malwarebytes Anti-maleware it discovered 47 infections which it cleared to finish the removal of the infected files/folders I was asked to restart my PC.
I downloaded a game and mirosoft came on and said this program could damage your computer and allow viruses and other security threats. Thinking I had my security to tight, this has happened before and I went ahead and downloaded and played the game. My problem.I can't get into the following: My Doc. I have sent error reports at no avail.Also it has tied up my Trend Micro and all I get when I go to T.M. Is the game name and open file security warning on the game because of unknown publisher. my pc hang and after waiting for sometimes for it to recover and nothing is happening i decided to push the reset button...now i cannot start my windows xp...at start up i have the message that windowssystem32configsystem is damage....the startup process advise me to run my boot cd and try to repair the problem using recovery console....since i have not kept a backup of system files on my pc...may i ask advice from our dear members if theres a backup somewhere in my windows directory..where i can copy and replace the damage files
I'm working on a friends Dell Dimension E520 with SATA HD w/ 512Mb RAM, Pentium 4HT. He said he couldnt' get it to boot and at first it didn't but I finally got it to boot but only for a few seconds. I suspected a virus. I want to wipe the drive and reformat but I'm having trouble with that. I installed the drive in another pc and was able to format in there so the drive itself is good. Here's what happens...I put in the Windows XP Pro disk and it finally boots to the CD BUT as soon as it loads all the drivers I get the blue screen saying the pc had to shut down to protect it from damage error code 0x0000007B. And that's as far as I can get with it. I also put in another hard drive and it does the same with that one also so I'm certain it's not the hard drive anymore. I've checked both HD and Memory test with windows utilities. I was very fortunate to get that far but that was only once. The error code is 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x806357F1, 0xA3243988, 0x00000000) when I got it to boot into Windows (just once only).
