For shells i have tried both bblean and standard explorer, media players i have tried are windows media player, winamp, and bsplayer. It dosent actually crash the program, it just brings up the little "this program needs to close" thing. if i drag it to the side the video will continue to play (somtimes). somtimes the videos wont load at all.

Recognizes My DVD Players Properly.

Oct 29, 2007

I re-installed XP after having a mal-ware/spy-ware issue. The problem is my machine no longer recognizes my DVD players properly.

Both work working fine prior to the re-install. Now neither will recognize a CD-ROM (I have enabled CD-recording) and neither will burn a DVD. Further, one of them is listed under Explorer as a CD-ROM rather than a DVD-ROM.

I have tried delete both from device manager and having XP reinstall them on start up but no luck.

Disc Wiped Out Dvd Players

Feb 5, 2009

I wanted to download additional content from the XP installation disc. I selected add digital media from choices and clicked the button. It started analyzing the system then suddenly started deleting a whole slug of files. It finished and rebooted, after which neither of my dvd drives would recognize discs. Windows media player was gone too. Both player models show up on the add hardware list in control panel. I wrote down the models and downloaded drivers for one of them and it wouldn't install them because it said the drive wasn't present. The "add new hardware" said the same thing, though it was on the list.

Then it opened to a desktop from like when we first got the computer, most my files are their but the shortcuts are gone off the desktop and mozilla asked if I wanted to import all my data from OE.

Teamspeak Vs Ventrilo / REAL Statistics / Not Opinions

May 20, 2006

I have searched the internet everywhere and could not find any place that had a real comparison of Teamspeak and Ventrilo. I'm not talking about people just saying "oh I like x better". You can find millions of that online. What I'm talking about is someone doing real tests of cpu usage, bandwidth, latency, and overall quality of the sound. I do not have the tools to do such a test, but I bet the guys at TG do. What would be MOST useful are having various catagories. These catagories will be sorted by cpu usage, and bandwidth. For example: Compare the sound quality between TS and Vent when the cpu usage is exactly (or as close to) 1%, 3%, 5%. (this would be achieved by changing the sound quality until the cpu usage is these %). And then you could use sound capture for both to compare the quality.A similar test will be used to compare bandwidth vs quality. For example: set TS and Vent to use 1kb/s, 5kb/s, 10 kb/s, etc. and compare quality (with the bandwidth as close to each other as possible).

Error: Cant Enter Setup. Video Mode 103 Not Supported By Video Card

Oct 31, 2007

Recently I was playing a game, when my screen froze. I then shut my computer down to restart it, used it a few times (in 4-bit safe mode), then after I shutdown again, I cant log back in... it just freezes and the screen flashes, I cannot boot into my computer setup (default f2) or into safe mode (default f8), however I can run the XP cd and get into the recovery console, is there any way that I can change the boot sequence from the recovery console? The screen is dotted with a bunch of dots up and down the screen in columns, and is in 4-bit video mode.

I have a Dell xps gen 5 with xp home.

the error I get is:

Imported Video Footage Playing On Audio Line Not Video?

Sep 20, 2005

I have managed to put video footage onto my PC from a video cassette (by plugging my VCR into the TV aerial socket). The video footage is saved on my PC as .mpg files & when I open them, they play fine on Windows Media Player. When I import them on to Windows Movie Maker, they are recognised as video footage and I am able to put them into the collections as video. However, for some reason, when I drag them onto the timeline, they go onto the audio line & I can't get them to go on the video line, so when I play it, the sound plays but there is no picture. I have tried saving them as .AVI files but that makes no difference
