While transferring video clips from my digital camera to my computer, the media players show images upside down. There is no problem when transferring to other computers.

My Windows Media player 10 is trying to play some video clips as songs rather than video clips. This has only recently happened. Do I need to purchase some
decoder to fix it or is there a down oad for it?
I cannot view video clips, they come up and I hear the sound ok, but the clip itself is all just a heap of colours, bright colours. What is lacking please?? I am on xp home, I have media player and most other pics come up ok. I have zone alarm suite 6 ..

I surffed the web looking for a answer seems like I am not the only one with the problem but no one has a answer for me. I tried installing FFDShow as someone recomended but still no luck.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhenever i try to play some of my video files (.avi, .mpg. wmv. etc) my shell and media player will both crash. For shells i have tried both bblean and standard explorer, media players i have tried are windows media player, winamp, and bsplayer. It dosent actually crash the program, it just brings up the little "this program needs to close" thing. if i drag it to the side the video will continue to play (somtimes). somtimes the videos wont load at all.

I have deleted the devices and connected them again but when XP tries to install the drivers I get this error: "Windows cannot load the device drivers for the new hardware. The Driver may be corrupt or missing. (Code 39)".I have reinstalled SP2 then SP3 but that did not help.

It has a yellow triangle against the digital camera entry and under properties has" Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory. (Code 38) If I install new hardware it sees tha camera and I get new hardware found but then give the message not installed properly, any ideas out there?
View 11 Replies View Relatedmy XP SP2 doesn't recognize my Olympus FE-100. It installs it as "Unknown device". I have no problems this kind with my printer, mp3 player, but i had the same problem when trying to connect my friends watch which has usb memory in it (it works fine on his computer- XP). I tried to connect my camera on Win ME and it works properly. I know this has to do something with my XP, i just don't know what. I tried to uninstall- reinstall the camera, stop-restart the WIA but nothing helped. There is no driver for it because xp should recognize it at least as a storage device.

I've downloaded the drive from the vivicam website; I've used the disk that came with the camera, and nothing seems to work. Reinstalled it. I have the latest windows XP updates.

Well, start using it as one!You can use the memory cards on your camera for storing documents mp3's or whatever you choose to store there. I'm trying to copy pics from my digital camera and have always used the removable drive function in My Computer...now it's not working. other USB hardware (keyboard, mouse etc) are working fine. Seriously it can be sitting there doing nothing or I will have the video camera program turned on, and for no apparent reason, it will just freeze up, and the only way to get it to work again is to reboot it. I have tried updating the mouse, sound, video drivers - the mouse was acting kinda wierd one day - it just seemed sluggish so I updated the driver for it. The sound driver needed to be updated so I could get rid of the yellow question mark in the hardware profile and that is gone and I thought that fixed it but later that same day, it just froze again. Now there is no set time or anything like that, there are days that it will work perfectly all day and then the next day it will freeze after being on for 20 minutes or less, and there are days that it will work for 4 hours and then freeze
View 12 Replies View RelatedI recently (two weeks ago) upgraded my system from W98 to W2k. The first time I installed, the program , I did it keeping my w98 folders etc. Ther were some errors and I tried to re-install, choosing the overwrite option. (also downloaded service pack one! I tried to download service pack 4 but it told me there was not enough memory) I have been left with two W2k directories. I have been using the most recent one (the preferred one) and have slowly been copying my important files using my flash disk from the other W2k directory. The only problem I have had is that althought the drivers and soft ware are installed, everytime I connect and switch my digital camera on, the sytem reboots. Iwanted to "defrag " the preferred W2k directory but was told there was not enough disk space. I thought then to uninstall programs on the other W2k diectory that I was not using. ie. mainly software etc for which I have disk and have reinstalled on the preferred W2k directory. Well after I had finished I rebooted, and then the trouble began! I cannot get into the "preferred" W2k directory. I swear I did not change or remove any settings or programs.

I'm told by the GF that it usually happens when it's just sitting idle. The light on the mouse goes out and the keyboard stops working as well. They are both USB devices. View 3 Replies View RelatedHaving recently had someone else using my computer for a while, installing various software (like winamp and SubEdit player) it seems windows media player (that's what I use) no longer recognises the usual files as media files like .mp3 .wmv .m3u .avi etc etc so when I click open file and select "media files (all types)" in the file type box it shows nothing, so I have to change it to all files which is irritating. Media player still plays everything fine but this is pretty annoying.

This year at first I explored this Sony's interface programe more deeply and there I've got the problem:The software program is: ImageMixer ver 1.5 for Sony made by Pixela.Connection cable between camera and my PC: USB cable.I know that the USB port on my computer is version 2.0.The software creates .mpg or .avi files. Hence I should use ordinary CD-R, not DVD. Problem: The ImageMixer interface program never delivers any sound, neither to the new created file nor when only exploring the video tape on my PC.

However I can see that removable drive letter from that little green arrow Icon from Start Menu Bar. I tried hitting that Drive letter in address bar. didn't work. I don't know what the problem could be. So I thought let me install SP3. cannot be installed because I have Latest remote desktop and MUI (something) update in my computer. If I want to install SP3, I'd have to remove that first.

This is also the case with the two other players I use - Real and VLC. Having discovered the problem, I have downloaded some codecs from http://www.free-codecs.com/K_Lite_Co...k_download.htm in case the codecs are corrupt but it makes no difference.
