Last year I purchased a new digital Sony video recorder (TRV245E) and together with a quite new PC (operated by OS Windows XP Pro) and the software which came together with the Sony video on an installation CD the recorder works properly together with the PC. This year at first I explored this Sony's interface programe more deeply and there I've got the problem:The software program is: ImageMixer ver 1.5 for Sony made by Pixela.Connection cable between camera and my PC: USB cable.I know that the USB port on my computer is version 2.0.The software creates .mpg or .avi files. Hence I should use ordinary CD-R, not DVD. Problem: The ImageMixer interface program never delivers any sound, neither to the new created file nor when only exploring the video tape on my PC.
there, there is this pc at work, I just re-loaded windows xp service pac 2 on it, and this computer will just freeze up. Seriously it can be sitting there doing nothing or I will have the video camera program turned on, and for no apparent reason, it will just freeze up, and the only way to get it to work again is to reboot it. I have tried updating the mouse, sound, video drivers - the mouse was acting kinda wierd one day - it just seemed sluggish so I updated the driver for it. The sound driver needed to be updated so I could get rid of the yellow question mark in the hardware profile and that is gone and I thought that fixed it but later that same day, it just froze again. Now there is no set time or anything like that, there are days that it will work perfectly all day and then the next day it will freeze after being on for 20 minutes or less, and there are days that it will work for 4 hours and then freeze
While transferring video clips from my digital camera to my computer, the media players show images upside down. There is no problem when transferring to other computers.
I can play an DVD movie and the video works fine but I have no audio. I can play an music cd and the sound works fine. I tries it in media player and nero. Media player is a pain half the time it won't play an movie because of some rights problem. The movies are legal out of the store. I use to run a audio cable from the cd and dvd's to the motherboard in the old days, but haven't in a while because the audio would work either way. This is new MSI board with on board audio and works fine with music cd's but no audio on video's. I did get sound to work with movies but only after installing WinDVD7. I noticed that it installed a DVD Audio driver. Why don't the other programs have that like Media player, nero, realplayer. I thought that a fresh install and update of XP would have all the drivers for DVD as long as we have been using them
You know when you plug your camera into your computer it brings up the picture transfer wizard. well my computer no longer does that and its kind of annoying. anyone know how to reactivate autoplay i guess? ive tried different usb ports and i even uninstalled usb root hubs and rebooted and let them reinstall themselves.
I have a problem which many others seem to share, which is that the Scanner and Camera Wizard has suddenly ceased to appear automatically when downloading from a camera. Until a few days ago, I could plug my Olympus into my computer with a USB lead, and a box would crop up offering several courses of action. I would choose the one which permitted downloading the camera files to a folder. Next the Scanner and Camera Wizard would pop up, and after a few clicks, the camera files would be downloaded to my hard drive, and any unwanted shots would be deleted. I mention all this because some people appear to think that the Scanner and Camera Install Wizard is the same thing, but it isn't.Various cures have been put forward, like uninstalling Real Player 10, finding wiaacmgr.exe and renaming it to Scanner and Camera Wizard, and reinstalling the camera. I have tried these without success, and the wiaacmgr file is not present on either of my XP computers (one Pro, the other Home). I have also downloaded Autofix.exe, which found nothing wrong, and tried to persuade Autoplay to do the business.
Just got my first digital camera and all was good until I tried to download pictures to my pc. The microsoft scanner and camera wizard would not pop up when I attached my camera all settings and plugs checked). I found out this may be due to SP2 or Real Time, which I do not have. Has anyone else had this problem and what is the best and quickest fix.
I have my new installation of xp done and dusted, however my media player is saying there is a problem with the sound device however it plays the videos .it reads there may not be a sound device on this computer however it worked on the linux before installing the windows anybody know what Im doing wrong my motherboard is from elitegroup and the model is C51PVGM-M
i've uninstalled and reinstalled adobe flash player, my java, windows script and my sound card driver. i've reset my internet advance options, security options and turned off all my pop-up blockers.i can't figure out why great sites like abc.com, wolfgangsvault.com, Internet.com and pandora.com will play for me but the sound won't play. even when i do the windows media player tests.. those work.is there something wrong with my flash player?
i just reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled Windows 2000 pro. This wasn't the version of windows i originally had and now i find i have no sound at all and my WMP is not functioning properly i jsut get green shadowy shapes when i try to play video.
I recently ran Windows Update and selected some non critical updates to download. Since then, my monitor could only use 4 colours and i have no sound. I fixed the monitor by rolling back the driver but i cannot get the sound working again. Ive tried rolling back the driver and running system restore, neither have worked.
When I try to watch streaming video on IE, all i get is sound. No video. I have WMP 10 and I cant seem to get it to work. It does sometimes, but most the time it doesn't.
all my video was working correctly at a point and the last thing i remember installing when it stopd working was nero 7.after i installed that i went to watch a clip on my window media player(WMP) and the clip wouldnt show only sound would play, so i installed all the codec again, only divx would play some files now but not all my avi of mpeg.i downloaded GSPOT and everythin and i got all the codec. ran out of everythin what to do.
Just bought a Canon ZR200 camcorder. When I connect it to my PC using either the fire wire or USB connections, and commence video capture using either WinDVD Creator (Version 2.0B014.183C2W) or Nero Vision Express 2, I get lots of audio breakup as the video is being captured and during playback in the editing function. When I use Movie Maker, I do not get the audio breakup (unfortunately MM doesn't allow me to create DVDs).I defragged my HD with no effect. Later this week, my brother will be bringing his Sony camcorder so I can see if I get the same results using the same tapes. In the meantime, does anyone have any idea why this is happening? What's frustrating is that I did not have this problem when using the same PC, software and a DAC-100 capture device connected to a VCR.
i have a windows xps 200 desktop that was purchased in 2005. it had not been connected to the internet for a little over a year and, recently, when i got an internet connection i discovered that i could not get any sound streaming videos using hulu.com, Internet.com, or any other video site.i can still get sound using itunes and even in games that use the internet to connect with other players.i have checked my drivers and all of them are functioning properly, have uninstalled my sigmatel audio codec driver and reinstalled it, and have installed all the updates my computer requested in addition to driver updates the windows site recommended for my system. in short, i have done everything i can think of and have spent hours troubles hooting and looking for answers.
I recently had to reformat my PC and now I need to reinstall my video card and sound card drivers. The only problem is, I don't have the driver CD anymore. when I try to find out what my video/sound cards are I draw a blank because they don't seem to be displayed anywhere (display properties/settings/advanced/adapter). All adapter type and adapter information are all I know my video card is ATI but that's all I know and as for the sound card - I haven't a clue what make that is. I've been on the ATI website but there are so many drivers I don't know which one to download/install.
I installed a new video card and when I started the computer up, I have no sound at all. Please help, I have all these games, and no sound! Its a brand new computer system setup for my little brother, and he can't even use it He's all bummed out, and if someone could help it'd be GREAT! The computer is a Gateway - and I looked through BIOS, and didn't see anything about disabling/enabling the onboard sound.
I recently upgraded to XP from 98SE and as a result have no sound. Also when I play video files either through Windows Media Player or Real Player, the video stalls to a still frame for a couple of seconds and then moves on and then stalls again. It doesn't correspond with the time line. Can someone please provide me with a method to fix these two issues?
dear guys my sound sticks for a few seconds when playing music, and watching videos, it sticks for a few secs every few mins. i have downloaded the latest drivers and updates for both sound card and graphic card, its making me crazy,
Try removing the card and see if you have the sound back. Se if you have sound with just the video card installed without its drivers. If same issue on Xp, Vista, the most probabily the card is not supported on the computer.Try a clean reinstallation after installing the video card.
it seems that you are my last hope. it is really crazy and i am almost thinking about just throwing this whole pc out and maybe buying a macbook instead as soon as i got money .i need my laptop (acer travelmate 292, 1.5ghz, 512 MB, insyde software csu bios ver 1.30) for producing music.i do have an external usb soundcard (edirol ua-25) but windows is just driving me nuts.even by only playing one simple MP3 file in winamp (or just having the windows-starting sound during the boot process) and without running any other software, the sound cracks, skips and jerks around. and that with already assigning the buffer size to "very large". if i chose "very small or medium" it would take me probably 10 seconds to play a 3 second mp3 file.i don't think, it is the sound card mainly, since i tried the onboard realtek soundcard stand alone as well and it is almost as bad. it must be something with windows. i already tried de-installing everything else on the computer, running registry cleaners and virus scanners, etc. - and there was one more tip, saying to "give priority to background processes" or something, but it still doesn't work.
Im Using Windows Media Player 10 and When i play a dvd i get no sound and distorted video like a roll of film being exposed to sunlight. It may have somthing to do with overlays. The video problem started after i installed the latest 6800 Ultra drivers. All media players have the Video distortion. Distortion does not happen when i play video of my HDDs.
It seems like right about the same time I installed SP2 I cant get any video on my media players. I have tried ACE MEGA CODECS and SLD CODEC PAK neither to any avial. I surffed the web looking for a answer seems like I am not the only one with the problem but no one has a answer for me. I tried installing FFDShow as someone recomended but still no luck.
when looking at a webpage with an embedded avi, the avi d/l's, then only sound plays. When I attempt to view the file in the temp internet files folder, it only plays sound, and properties (in media player) says audio file. When I copy the same file to another folder (somewhere outside temp int folder) and play the file, it plays the audio and video like it should (and properties in media player says audio video). What gives? I've checked in the browser settings and its set to play videos on webpages, and I've tried checking play by extension (as opposed to content) as well. The media player is only 9 (yes, I'll upgrade), but I know that's not the problem because I've looked at the same site with a different computer (but not xp) and it works fine.
I just put a hard drive in this HP and installed a fresh copy of Windows XP Home. The only sound I can get is from Windows media player, no system sound at all! I have done microsoft update and installed realtek drivers and nothing happens after they install. Also all the options are faded so you cant test or change them. The video is the same way, I cant even change themes, The propeties button does nothing when you click on it.
I have a very strange problem with my computer. I can normally solve most things on my own, but this one is just stumping me. All of my drivers are up to date. This problem is VERY hard to explain using words - so please listen to the attached audio files. The problem is that I cannot really play ANY audio. WHenever I do, it is VERY slow, stuttery and crackly, and often times the pitch of the audio even goes down, as though the processor were trying to.. catch up to the audio. I have recorded a few samples as well. This problem is also affecting the video sometimes, and others not, by producing incredibly stuttery video. Sometimes if I play it for long enough (30 seconds) the sound and video in a movie (mpg, avi doesn't matter) will completely just stop and freeze.I have NO idea what is going on, and it happens whether I use the soundblaster card or the onboard audio.
I have taken everything off my startup msconfig, save microsoft services and AIM, so nothing else is running, and I have scanned for spyware, virus, and the like. Now I"m not sure if these two files will play like they do on my computer - I used winamp/windows media player/itunes all to play these two versions of a Jewel song, and then used sound recorder to record them with my wave out as the record input. Of course, when I play them back, they sound horrible, with all the crackling, stuttering, and lag of the original playback, so I THINK it will sound as bad for someone who listens to this file.
I have been having this problem for a couple of days now. I was listening to music which had been skipping for a while but not to bad and suddenly everything froze. i killed winamp and hit pulled up the task mgr. cpu usage was staying around 100% different processes popping up to the top. i downloaded process explorer and it has a file highlighted in dark red wmiprvse.exe i read this could be a virus but i verifed it was in the correct folder. im running win xp media center edition with sp3. while looking at processes in the task mgr the system idle process is usually at the top of the list. my computer pretty much freezes up every few seconds now for a second or 2 and whenever i open any program it freezes up for a good minute or 2. Anything else ya'll might need to know feel free to ask. is there a way i could check if it is a hardware problem? this is a Hp pavillion laptop amd turion 1.99ghz 2gb ram. i have also tweaked xp to run faster by removing the themes among other things. I think thats the only thing saving me right now.
I have a problem with playing video files. I can hear sound but no picture, no video. I'm using Windows XP home and I downloaded the latest codec for Window player and still won't work. I downloaded divx player and it won't work.. only sound.
