I have Norton Symantec on my computer and it keeps saying its detecting Trojan Horses on my computer......but it says it cannot delete them. PLEASE help...i dont want to have to spend tons of money more on new software......i have hijack this, and kill box.....

I did go to this website and downloaded the taskbar fix it link, however when I went to run it off my desktop, NORTON caught it and popped up that it was a MALICIOUS THREAT or something regarding MALICIOUS.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI noticed one day that my computer was acting nuts. Lots of pop up windows saying my computer was infected with a virus, and that annoying bomb/warning sign blinking light. I went out and bought a new anti-virus pacakge (ZoneAlarm) because apparently whatever I had was failing. And it had been awhile since I had taken care of this... It found several viruses and cleaned them, but as soon as those were cleaned, I got different pop-ups telling about a different virus.
The next day I restart my computer and get the BLUE SCREEN (boooooooo!) and wasn't able to get anywhere beyond that. I tried everything that I knew how to do, and then I finally reinstalled Windows. I don't know if this was the smart thing to do, though, because I just ended up partioning my hard drive, so everything on my C: is still actually on my computer and accessible, although I guess I am actively running off of a different hardrive So these viruses are still on my computer,
I have a malware or spyware problem I can't solve. I tried spybot,adware, and ewido with little help.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt got infected with Windows Police Pro. After disabling that, there are several 'remnants' left over. The only way I can run any spyware/malware removal programs is to install it fresh. The program(s) will open, then it'll shut down 2 seconds into the scan. It even shuts down my registry cleaner as soon as it begins to clean (after it finds all the errors). All these programs simply terminate themselves. It does this in SafeMode as well.

It was a fake site that looked like Internet Explore virus protection, and it said to start scan now. I didn't and just closed it and thought everything was fine. The next day I tried to log on and it just went back to the log on screen. It said logging off. I kept on trying and it did the same thing over and over. It was like something was blocking me logging on.

I go to Start, Search, and then I select "All Files and Folders".I used to be able to type in the search words in "A word or phrase in the file", and then select a folder by going to "Look in", then Browse, and then I would select the folder there.
At the end of November, the folks over in the Security forum were kind enough to walk me through a huge problem I was having. My computer has never been better except for one small thing. my "search" function doesn't work. The little doggy is there and if I enter something and then ask it to search files and folders (or anything for that matter), it goes off to search and then nothing happens. Eventually I get the "Program not Responding" window and when I close it, my desktop blinks off for a second and then my Norton systray button is missing.It's weird and I'm sure I deleted something inadvertently while I was getting rid of that terrible trojan. I was just wondering if someone had a suggestion so that I could restore that function. If not, I'll leave it alone because I'm just happy to have my computer back to normal almost. I thought I was going to have to throw it away until those guys saved it for me.

The problem is, my daughter wants to delete her user account and has not been successful in doing so. Everytime we go into "control panel/user accounts and click on her name and then select "Delete account", it just sits there with the hourglass and then when I try to get out of it it says that the "program is not responding". We have done this numerous times with no success. I even tried deleting her account from safemode today and that didn't work either. There is something definitely messed up on her user name because I tried signing on under her name and couldn't do anything, it froze up on me and I had to restart. Our computer has been scanned for viruses (none) and adware/malware have all been removed using ad-aware/spybot search & Destroy.

It is a compaq 3400+amd 512mb,200gb.I use sypgate as my firewall, avast antivirus, ad-aware,ccleaner,sypywareblaster. I use IE and Hotmail as my only email. However, it does get slow, so I go to disk cleanup and it shows thousands (like 20thousand or more) temporary files to clean and shows them as locked.
