My mouse keeps hanging up and clock loses time when not running in safe mode. Not just the mouse really, but nothing at all works. When I boot normally (not into safe mode), windows can take forever to load due to this. On last boot my clock lost 10 out of 15 minutes uptime and I had to manually power off even then. I am running Windows XP Service pack 2 on a AMD Athlon 64 3800+ system with 1214 mb mem 150 gig hdd.

View 14 Replies View RelatedMy mouse/pointer is STILL freezing after about 5 minutes of being logged on. I am using the touchpad mouse that is on my laptop. I have ran an updated version of Adaware6, Spybot, CWShredder & AVG Anti-Virus. I also have Spyware Blaster Protection enabled. I don't know what else to do but ask you guys if you see anything funny in my hijack log... Is it normal to have 4 entries stating info about my startup page? I have a biostar u8668 pro motherboard, intel p4 1.7ghz, 512 ddr ram, cd and dvd writers and two hard drives. I am running windows xp pro with all the service packs and upgrades. I even flashed the bios with no apparent improvement. On immediate rebooting all is well for about the same time before it freezes again. What am I overlooking?
View 9 Replies View Relatedi am running hp pavillion t550 with penthium 4, 512 ram, 80gigs hd. i have scanned it with pestparol and microsoft antispyware, scanned it with norton av many times and came out clean. done the error nuker too. i got about 70 percent space on my hard disc and at most times just using 260 on my ram.my pc just freezes up , randomly. it could happen after 15 mins. after loading or within 3 hrs. the cursor stays in one spot. no reaction from the mouse and keyboard.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIn response to this I attempted to use System Restore. This failed, for some reason after selecting the restore date, clicking next did nothing. I then decided to go on a deleting spree, removing all unnecessary folders, programs etc. Somewhere along the line I must not have been paying attention and deleted the i386 folder. Of course, all hell broke loose and I couldnt even log into any users be it safe mode or not (I got automatically logged out).
Now to the real problem: The setup gets to 34 minutes remaining and encounters some problems while installing devices. A number of pop up messages appear, After that last pop-up, the keyboard and mouse promptly freeze, and a final pop-up appears replacing the italics line with "Conexant D850 56K V.9x DFVc Modem". Unfortunately I now cant click yes or no, and therefore cant continue with the setup.
I finally got my new PC but I have an issue that's bugging me. When I have been copying lots of files to my main drive or any other HD intensive operation like installing software, mp3s I'm listening to judder and the mouse cursor momentarily freezes or if im copying gigs and gigs the system slows down so much that i just cant do anything else. I am running xp pro x64 and have a mirrored raid setup using two 320 gig drives. I have 4 gigs of ram and a core2 6600. I've never had this problem on my 2 year old other pc. I'm sure there is some kind of configuration problem but ill be damned if i know what it is.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy mouse suddenly stopped to work after I restarted my computer. I turned my computer off to clean the dust in it and then I replugged everything back. Everything seems to work perfectly. But after 5 seconds my mouse stopped moving and it's stuck. I tried to plug it in a different USB and it detect and it work for another 5 seconds then it stops. View 4 Replies View RelatedI've formatted my hdd using hirens boot cd, partition magic. xp install starts, goes through "setup is loading files", gets to "setup is starting windows" and stops, all activity stops (hdd, cd), full silence. if i'm not mistaking, eula comes next and F8 to continue. i left it for 8 hours and waited, no result. same thing happens with vista - goes through loading files, i get a screen with that green line going from left to right and goes on and on and on forever.I've tried with 2 different xp cds, one xp64 cd and vista dvd. nothing.linux ubuntu installs without any problems.i've tried erasing MBR with acronis disk director suite (hirens boot cd) and with DOS line "fdisk.exe /mbr", but every time my installation freezes.

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy computer has been doing this for awhile, it works fine, I can watch videos on it and everything, then I go play a game (Call of Duty 4 on max graphics) then after a minute or two my monitor would go blank (Blue in this case since its HDMI) and lose the signal to the graphics card, The connector isn't loose, nor is power and I must reboot to get the signal back.I have upgraded the computer with this graphics card, I did uninstall old drivers but maybe not fully.Another perhaps unrelated problem is that whenever I restart, it no longer detects my graphics card, resolution: 800x600, 4-bit, I must uninstall all my drivers, then reinstall them and it fixes the problem.

Today, when I boot it up, the main monitor displayed all theboot information and startup stuff, however, when the system SHOULD have gotten to the user login screen, the main montor came up with "no signal." The secondary monitor at this time will still show my mouse moving around on it, and I'm able to move the mouse over to the main monitor but I can't see anything.I've gone through a few basic manuevers to see what was wrong. I booted in safe mode and logged in to my mai account and attempted to change the other monitor to the main one; However, Safe Mode does not appear to supoort multi-monitor and I couldn't change this. After that, I attempted to VNC into my computer with the notebook I'm on now. When I came to the login dialogue box, the only account I could log into was the invisible "Administrator" account. My main account, as well as a temporary account I created for testing, both came up with an error "Cannot access due to user restrictions." My theory is that because all of the accounts which are actually visible on the login screen seem to not be working, the login is bugging and not outputting anything to my main monitor (since I have verified both monitors and connections to be working properly).
