Aug 9, 2004I got a new system Pentium 4 3GHz CPU, 1GB RAM, 800MHz FSB with windows XP Professional, Office 2003 that replaces Pentium 3 300MHz 128MB RAM. I was sohappy because I do not need to use Virtual memory any more and windows xpboots up in a minute. I started installing all the development applicationsin the news system
I ran setup.exe to install Visual Studio 6.0 using DVD. It crashed. I thought DVD is bad or corrupted and used some other CD. Still Visual Studio6.0 installation wizard is crashing. When it crashed, a dialog box comes upand asks whether I can send report to Microsoft or debug. I sent report to Microsoft. Nothing happend more than that. I tried to debug using visualstudio .net. It gives the following error message.

Jul 25, 2010I did a full HP system restore and the Computer guy who came to my house installed the Service Pack 3, the latest version. I used to have Service Pack 1. I have had quite a few problems since then because of the full system restore and having to re-install alot of my programs, etc. But anyway I noticed today, that down in my system tray (or whatever you call it) on the bottom right of my computer where all the little icons are, there is this Microsoft Updates Automatic Updater with the yellow shield and it said that an update ready to install so I tried installing it. I went to Google for a fix and on some forum a tech told me to un-install the ver. 2.0 that I have on there now...reboot...and then d/l the new update. I didn't bookmark the forum unfortuneately. Nov 23, 2009I was just in itunes adding about 12 songs when my comp not only froze, but it also gave me a blue screen. I didn't copy the exact number/code it gave me, but it did say kernal_data_inpage_error. Right now, it seems fine. Not blazing fast, but normal. I had itunes opened about 10 minutes ago just after restarting and it took a good 5 minutes just to cntrl alt delete and use task manager to close it. I also got a blue screen once over night when trying to use MyDefrag to defrag my larger slave drive. It worked fine in defragmenting my smaller master drive.

Feb 28, 2007I'm getting an error message at startup and when I run a couple of programs, An exception "unhandled win32 exception has occurred in programname.exe" However no debuggers are registered that can debug this exception. Unable to jet debug. I contacted Microsoft support who advise to do a repair install of xp, but I did this once before, on a different pc, and lost all the startmenu shortcuts to my installed programs, so am a bit loathe to do this, also as a test I created another administrative account and I don't get this issue. The simple solution (but not the most convenient) would be to use this other account, but is there another way around this?
