my comp keep on restarting itself even i didnt use anythg.then also hang on windows loading screen and restart when reach windows loading screen.even how many times i reformat n reinstall windows xp.problem still ocurr.then i sent my comp 2 shop and check.they said no hardware problems.but i doubt it.what can i do?

My computer froze so I tried to restart my computer by turning it off from the tower. I waited for the screen to pop up letting me know that it restarted okay, But it never came up just stopped at the windows XP loading screen. I waited for it to go but it just sat there. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have recently used Driver Genius to update some drivers and had a power outage while installing the video card drivers. After the power was restored I could not boot normally (it would go blank after the loading screen goes away before the log on screen comes up.) So I boot into safe mode and install the drivers there, and then restart. It worked after about 12 tries. Now, it will not load normally at all anymore.While checking the system error logs, I find that (from 9/26/09 - 9/27/09) I am missing quite a few catalog files in the "system32CatRoot{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}" directory.
View 2 Replies View RelatedToday I decided to do a system restore on my HP desktop computer. It was running painfully slow, to many un-needed programs etc. So I backed up all the files that I needed to keep and save to my external hard drive. The computer did not come with an operating disk so the only way I could get it back to sorta normal is to do the system restore. After I backed up all my files I restarted the computer and pressed F11 or 12 cant remember the one for system recovery/restore. About 12 seconds into the restore/recovery thing I accidentally hit the power switch under the table When I turned the computer back on I presses the F11 button again and this time made sure nothing bad happened. After it completed its task I clicked OK and restarted the computer.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI was just in itunes adding about 12 songs when my comp not only froze, but it also gave me a blue screen. I didn't copy the exact number/code it gave me, but it did say kernal_data_inpage_error. Right now, it seems fine. Not blazing fast, but normal. I had itunes opened about 10 minutes ago just after restarting and it took a good 5 minutes just to cntrl alt delete and use task manager to close it. I also got a blue screen once over night when trying to use MyDefrag to defrag my larger slave drive. It worked fine in defragmenting my smaller master drive.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently used the XP backup utility and I found that it worked fine for an immediate backup to my external USB drive but when I attempt to schedule the backup, it fails to occur.I am performing a 'normal' backup to the USB Drive and I scheduled it daily using the wizard. It appears in the calendar and looks normal and consistent with my setup but nothing happens at the appointed time. I confirmed my PC date and time were correct (no AM/PM or date error).I see no indication that it is/has attempting to perform a backup.

The error stated that I should run Chkdsk and then proceeds to restart and bring me to the Windows boot selection screen (safe mode, last known good configuration, normally). No matter which choice I pick, it always leads to the BSOD then restarts. Since this is getting me nowhere fast, I want to just format and reinstall windows. I do not have my recovery CDs, and when I enter the BIOS to change the boot sequence I cannot change it so the CD drive is above the hard drive in priority. The reason it gives me in the bios is that "All items on this menu cannot be modified in user mode. If any items require changes, please consult your system supervisor. Any ideas on how I can boot off the cd and reinstall windows from scratch?

When I start the computer, it asks if for the choice of Safe Mode, w/ Networking, w/Command Prompt or Normally.
I've tried them all and if I try it normally, it won't get past the XP loading screen. It's loading and then it flashes a blue screen for a second and then restarts the computer again.
I tried pressing F8 at boot and selected 'Disable automatic restart on system failure' and this is what I get

I even tried using this http://forums.techguy.org/6669592-post28.html to get to chkdsk At boot, F12, chose CD/DVD, but still nothing, I even tried disabling boot from +HDD, FDD and LAN from the bios setup menu to see if it works and this is what I got, it just keeps going on and on unless I enable boot from +HDD

I have this strange problem:I can't see my Bios loading .The screen is totaly black untill the windows' welcome screen , and then everything is back to normal.
It happened when I updated my motherboard Bios (Gigabyte GA-8N-SLI ,Rev. 1.0) through the original vendor's Website
My dads pc was fine then all of the sudden it just restarted.And it came up to the options:restart in safe mode estart in safemode with networking estart in safe mode with networking Last known working config Normal But when he tries any of them.. None of them work The windows loading screen will come up flash a blue screen super fast (cannot read it no matter how hard i try) then go back to boot option screen.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI couldnt start up windows. It would hang at the windows loading screen and go no further. So I was told to try a repair-install. And thats where even more trouble has started. So I started to repair-install. During the Windows Install setup, it gets almost to the point of being completed, but gave me a blue screen error STOP message at around the "18 minutes left" mark. During "Registering components". It would do this every time at the same spot. So I searched a bit about how to solve the problem. One suggestion I found on the interwebs was to try it with only one stick of ram installed, I have four overall at 2gb. So I tried that, next time I boot up to the comp, it loads up the bios, and then goes to the black windows loading screen with the loading bar, then starts with a blue screen saying "Setup is being restarted" So I figure its restarting my windows installation since it never was completed, after that message, the screen goes black with a cursor, and stays that way forever. I immediately put all the ram back in, and no luck, same thing. I tested each individual ram stick, same thing, just goes black. So now, I can't even seem to re-install windows. Did my hard drive just crap out? Some hardware issue? Im already thinking about buying a new fresh hard drive, installing windows on there, and just moving all my files from the old hard drive over to the new one. Though that would be a pain, I really want to save my current drive! And all the data on it.

It just goes black. The hard drive will run continually as if it's searching for the rest of the information, but can't find it.

Backup and replace - Press F1 to Resume. After I press F1 the machine goes black and I can do nothing to take back. The only thing that I can do in order to make windows open is to restart again and after do all the process mention before and press F1 is press many times a message to choose windows XP and then enter and Windows starts. But is not open normal.
The issue started when I went into msconfig and checked 'safe mode' in boot.ini. I restarted my computer and every time it would get to the Windows XP loading screen it would get The Blue Screen. I fixed this issue by putting in the Windows CD and clicked repair.

It restarted the computer pretty quickly and i had very little time to read it. I click on my name, and the computer starts. I want to bypass this. I just want to turn the computer on and have it go right to the desktop and be ready to use without the Welcome screen. I am the only user of this computer, so the logon or Welcome screen is not necessary.
I did locate a web site that supposedly told how to do this, but when I followed the advice, the computer booted to a generic desktop with all of my icons and shortcuts gone, and it asked me if I wanted to take a tour of Windows as if I never used it before. I am the only user, I am the administrator, I want to start my system with no Welcome screen or password prompt, just right to my desktop.

Today I was viewing a site when all of a sudden I got a request from my antivirus (norton) and made a big mistake by doing a one time authorization. Some Program for scaning your system for errors or something like that came up. Almost immediately after that a message from norton came up to close all programs and do a quick scan (not full scan) for problems. I did this and was then told to restart the computer. View 8 Replies View RelatedUsually I use Linux (because its faster easier more secure and just better) but in the past week I have had to install Windows XP pro sp2 on a seperate hard disk for remote desktop connectivity with the Windows system at work.Installation wouldn't work for whatever reason, so I had to install win2000. I thought I would keep that on, but unfortunatly updates would not work at all. So I then relatively painlessly updated to XP and installed SP2. From there it was working, and everything about it worked (apart from in games I get odd white lines on textures, but thats probably for another thread).

I can't do anything else. I hit the F8 key when it was starting up but I didn't know what to do after that.
Put the machine in standby. Came back to it, hit the power button and it wouldn't wake up completely, it stopped at the background, would load icons or respond to any keys or buttons. Pressed and held power until it shut down.When it tries to startup, it gets to the part where its a black screen and says Windows loading, with the scrolling load bar. After that I get the blue screen with the message below.Same result when trying to load using safe mode except the BSOD flashes quicker and is gone.Is there any way to get beyond this point, or is a repair from the Windows CD the only or best solution? I have backups of my most important data with Carbonite, so I'm not too afraid of losing data, but re-loading everything I have installed would be a major kick in the bits.

Upon restarting, the BIOS screen is scrambled and the the XP loading screen is messed up and it just goes to a black screen.I have to turn the PC off. Upon turning the PC on again it does the same. I turn off the power supply, wait a while and power up and everything is fine again. untill it does it all over again.I started experiencing this problem on Monday and it's happened once each day.
