Restart After Logo Loading Start Up Screen

May 20, 2010

Today I decided to do a system restore on my HP desktop computer. It was running painfully slow, to many un-needed programs etc. So I backed up all the files that I needed to keep and save to my external hard drive. The computer did not come with an operating disk so the only way I could get it back to sorta normal is to do the system restore. After I backed up all my files I restarted the computer and pressed F11 or 12 cant remember the one for system recovery/restore. About 12 seconds into the restore/recovery thing I accidentally hit the power switch under the table When I turned the computer back on I presses the F11 button again and this time made sure nothing bad happened. After it completed its task I clicked OK and restarted the computer.

Stops Loading On Blue Screen With Xp Logo

Mar 18, 2006

The other night I was on my computer when some strange things began to happen. Any program I tried to open would not open, and then the shortcuts on my desktop changed icons to the folder icon and the text dissapeared. I couldn't do anything, so I just figured it was some freak bug or something. I couldn't run any spyware or virus programs because it wouldn't let me open any programs. So I try to shut it down, and no matter how many times I clicked on shut down I still had to hold the button in to shut it off. Now, when I restart my computer, it seems to load just fine but when it gets to the blue screen with the windows xp logo on it, it just stops. The mouse cursor is there and I can move it but it never gets past the blue screen. I tired loading it in safe mode and it loads all the files up through mup.sys, which I have learned is the last file that loads so it is something after that. I have tried to start it using the last good configuration and still no luck. Any ideas? Do you think it is spyware/virus or just a corrupt system file?

Blank After Loading Screen On Normal Restart.

Sep 28, 2009

I have recently used Driver Genius to update some drivers and had a power outage while installing the video card drivers. After the power was restored I could not boot normally (it would go blank after the loading screen goes away before the log on screen comes up.) So I boot into safe mode and install the drivers there, and then restart. It worked after about 12 tries. Now, it will not load normally at all anymore. While checking the system error logs, I find that (from 9/26/09 - 9/27/09) I am missing quite a few catalog files in the "system32CatRoot{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}" directory.

Can't Start XP: After Loading Screen, Blue Screen Stop Error

Oct 5, 2010

Toshiba Satellite running on windows XP

When I start the computer, it asks if for the choice of Safe Mode, w/ Networking, w/Command Prompt or Normally.

I've tried them all and if I try it normally, it won't get past the XP loading screen. It's loading and then it flashes a blue screen for a second and then restarts the computer again.

I tried pressing F8 at boot and selected 'Disable automatic restart on system failure' and this is what I get

STOP: 0x00000024 (0x00190203, 0x83306788, 0xC0000102, 0x00000000)

I even tried using this http://forums.techguy.org/6669592-post28.html to get to chkdsk At boot, F12, chose CD/DVD, but still nothing, I even tried disabling boot from +HDD, FDD and LAN from the bios setup menu to see if it works and this is what I got, it just keeps going on and on unless I enable boot from +HDD

Stalls On Start Up Loading Screen

Aug 6, 2005

I am using WinXP SP2 and just two days ago the computer stalls at the loading screen (black screen says Windows XP and the blue loading bar underneath). It doesnt completely freeze but it just keeping on loading and never gets to windows, even after I wait for 10 mins. I have tried F8 and used 'last know good configuration and that didn't help'. The only change that i've made was instaling a new DVD burner a few days and it worked no problem after installation. The stall problem started after I manaully shut down the computer (press down power for 10 secs) when my computer froze from using dvd shrink. I'm pretty sure its not the software problem.. it should be hardware problem? Should I update dvd firmware? Is there anything else I can do to fix the stall problem?

Freezes On Startup, Loading Bar Below Logo Stops Moving?

Sep 1, 2009

The past few days I've been having issues with my desktop where when I turn it on, it runs through BIOS, and then begins to boot windows xp, but after maybe 10-15 seconds of loading windows xp, the loading bar beneath the Windows XP logo (it has three little blue boxes that move from left to right) will just stop moving. If I reset the computer it then asks to go into normal booting, or safe mode, safe mode booting always works but even when I system restore it doesnt seem to work. Out of maybe 50 times where the loading bar has crashed, its only properly loaded about two or three times.

Won't Boot. Black Screen With No Cursor After The Logo Screen

Aug 9, 2010

it all started when I ran Nod32 antivirus. I ran it because I had some viruses on my computer that I wanted to get rid of. After the scan there were 180 some detected objects that were quarantined or deleted. So then I restart my computer and after the windows xp logo there is just a black screen with no cursor. And after awhile the computer will just restart and try booting up again. I tried going into safe mode and safe mode with command prompt but I still get a black screen with no cursor. The last known good configuration doesn't work either. I'm pretty frustrated because I did nothing wrong. I am also having a feeling that nod32 might have quarantined some infected files that are essential for Windows Xp to boot. I also do not have any windows xp disks with me how to fix this?

Stuck On Logo Screen

Aug 15, 2009

Got an HP Pavilion 563w with Pentiun 2.4, and 512 MB of ram, running an oem XP. One day, I tried to start it up, and it booted to the Windows logo screen with the black bar. The bar went across twice, then froze. Nothing else happens after that. Tried Known Good Configuration, same thing. Tried safe mode, stops at mup.sys. I tried to get into Recovery console, but doesnt seem to recognize my hard drive, as my only choices are off of the CD (Drive letter e). Tried to repair system files with an XP upgrade cd, and it tells me there's no operating system installed, and that I need to verify my install by loading the installation cd, which I dont have. So I tried to use the HP system restore feature on my computer, but it only gives me the option to reformat, and not repair. I am the fool who did not regularly back up files, so I still have some on there I would like to have. I thought I could install this drive as a slave in my newer computer, but the hard drive setup in that computer is SATA, and my problem child is an IDE drive. I did not install anything new (hardware or software) that I can remember in the days before it went south.

Windows Splash Screen, The Logo - Rebooted Itself

Oct 14, 2008

I've had an infinite reboot cycle for the last 3 days now, and I still cannot figure out why. I have been looking at other cases and are quite similar to mine but not exact. This is my problem

I have XPP and one day my computer got a BSOD. Then through out the weeks it had a few (5-6 maybe) BSODs. And one day I started up the computer and it went to the windows splash screen, the logo, and rebooted itself. Being frantic on my 6 month old computer, I let it reboot by itself...and it went on like that for a while. It continues to ask me if I want to start in safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt, the last good known configuration, or start windows normally. I have tried all of the options and they lead me down the same road...infinite and continuous rebooting at the logo.

So I restarted it but my system wouldnt boot past the logo screen. I've did almost everything people suggested but I just gave up and decided to start up new. Bad idea. Loads Up Until Logo - Screen Goes Blue - F2 Run Setup Utility

My XP computer (Dell dimension 5000) has been playing up alot recently and now after going to blue screen once more i can no longer boot up at all, Now everytime i boot up, my computer loads up untill the windows logo (splash?) screen and then goes to blue screen almost instantly. Now i would try and reinstall XP using the CD but i cant find it ANYWHERE, i do however have a vista startup disc. Ive tried booting the computer with the vista CD then pressing F12 to go to the boot up menu. However when i select "onboard USB or CD_ROM drive" e message appears below, "fress f1 to continue or f2 to run setup utility" then when i press f1 to continue another message appears below saying press f1 to reboot and f2 to run setup utility. pressing F1 gives the same message and f2 takes me to this blue screen with setup information and other options. Basically i cant get my computer to load up at all, and seeing as ive lost the XP disc (careless i know) is it possible to install vista on it rather than reinstalling XP? If not does anyone have any suggestions as to how i can fix my computer, or at least get it to boot? I have tried running it in safe mode nd last known good configuration and all that but still no success, i ran a few diagnostics which said the hard drive is fine. Hang At Loading Screen - Blue Screen Error On Reinstallation

Nov 18, 2006

I couldnt start up windows. It would hang at the windows loading screen and go no further. So I was told to try a repair-install. And thats where even more trouble has started. So I started to repair-install. During the Windows Install setup, it gets almost to the point of being completed, but gave me a blue screen error STOP message at around the "18 minutes left" mark. During "Registering components". It would do this every time at the same spot. So I searched a bit about how to solve the problem. One suggestion I found on the interwebs was to try it with only one stick of ram installed, I have four overall at 2gb. So I tried that, next time I boot up to the comp, it loads up the bios, and then goes to the black windows loading screen with the loading bar, then starts with a blue screen saying "Setup is being restarted" So I figure its restarting my windows installation since it never was completed, after that message, the screen goes black with a cursor, and stays that way forever. I immediately put all the ram back in, and no luck, same thing. I tested each individual ram stick, same thing, just goes black. So now, I can't even seem to re-install windows. Did my hard drive just crap out? Some hardware issue? Im already thinking about buying a new fresh hard drive, installing windows on there, and just moving all my files from the old hard drive over to the new one. Though that would be a pain, I really want to save my current drive! And all the data on it.

System Start Not Correctly After Restart

Mar 24, 2007

hello fellow CNET members, I am in a fix.I have a Dell Dimension E510 running on Media Center Edition 2005. I also have a certificate of authenticity with the XP key on it. This past thursday, I restarted my computer, and it gave me the good ole Windows did not start correctly and gave me an option to start in Last Known Good Config, Normal, or Safe Mode(s). I entered Last Known Good Config, and then it restarted, and then it came up again. It seems I cannot boot into the OS at all. I have been on my old WinME(!) system looking up solutions, and some, if not all of the suggestions have been to Repair it, etc. However cheap ole Dell has not provided me with a XP CD, and I am unable to access the i386 files in the systems. Boot Disks will work, however they only setup the system for a CD install. The BIOS is fine, i believe, as a Ubuntu CD will work fine. There are some vital files that are on that hard drive, and i can't access them. All the other computers I have are not as updated as the E510, so the SATA hard drive will not connect to the ATA motherboard (Dimension 4100)as a slave.
