I recently switched servers, with the new server having a different name than the old. I deleted all my old offline files and re-synched with the new server, but the old server name keeps reappearing in the Synchronization pane during Offline Files synchronization. How can I delete all references to the old server?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an old Sony VAIO (running Win Xp) that I am using a print server. The VAIO is connected to a HP PSC. The VAIO is on a wireless network along with two other laptops. One laptop is running Win Xp and the other is running Vista. Everything was working fine as far as printing went until I reinstalled the OS on the Win Xp machine (same OS). Previously the VAIO would go offline due to hibernation and so if I tried to print something from the Xp machine, it would get in the queue and get printed when I turned the VAIO on. Now the print jobs are not getting in a queue when the VAIO is offline.I don't know what I did right before and so I don't know how to remedy the problem.

Some have 'user R/W', and some have both.Only those offline files that have access 'user R/W' and both 'user R/W' and 'other RW' work. When I try to make it Not offline available and then again offline available, it's still the same.So the user get's an 'access denied' or 'file location not found' error when he tries to open files that have 'other R/W'.

Temp to clear the temporary internet files. I have installed Dual OS - Win 98 in C: and Win XP in D:. I am using Win XP mainly. For the past few months when i try to use this command it throws an error at me saying Windows cannot find D:Documents. But i know that usually there will no folder called Documents rather than Documents and Settings.

I upgraded to SP2 (XP) but it doesnt help. I scanned and cleaned it with Spybot. I also ran Adaware but it freezes at a point SoftwareMicrosoftWindowsShareDLLs. View 9 Replies View Relatedi am running server 2000 in my home as and server. i just recently put it in. sense i have put it in i have not been able to run my backups for all of my stuff. have a drive that i call apps on my server and it has all my setups and other stuff. when the backups start copying from that they lockup on files it seems some what random on the file although now that i am thinking more on it i seem to rember seeing the same files over and over. when it lock up it locks up the whole computer. and my backups are run by a batch script

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy XP Home SP2 computer starts and runs just fine. No normal booting problems at all but I tried to boot it into safe mode a few days ago to have a look at something. It won't do it. No matter if I try safe mode or command prompt safe mode, it won't finish the boot. It simply goes to reboot after loading the list of files. It's not a big deal now but one of these days I'm sure I'll need safe mode for something.

For offline to work you need at least SP1. I know I will come across someone who does not have XP with service pack 1 on their OS disk or their recover disk. I own a copy that does not have SP 1. If I do I know there will be others who do not have it either.

When I reboot, I can correctly sync to a time server, but after an unknown amount of time it goes back to saying "The RPC server is unavailable" instantly after clicking Update Now, regardless of what server I tell it to sync to. I also noticed that if I view my nForce Networking Controller status, then click Properties and go to the Authentication tab, everything is greyed out. If I hit OK without changing anything (I can't change it even if I wanted to), a message pops up saying "An unexpected condition occured. Not all of your requested changes in settings could be made" and just goes back to that window. I have to hit cancel to close it

Well, it doesn't do that anymore.I did some Googling but failed to find anything helpful so far.I've been using the built-in personal firewall ever since installing SP2, which I'm guessing *may* have something to do with it.

I've walked her through the process of clicking on View at the top of the Outlook Express Interface and setting the Layout items so that her Contacts and Folder list should be on the screen, but they are not. I've tried everything I can think of to rectify the situation and I've run out of options. The way it is without her folders list she cannot access her deleted folder and her sent folder and cannot delete anything from those folders. Is there anything else I can do to bring up those her contacts list and her folders list?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI got hijacked the other night and ran a program to remove the bad programs. They have all been removed from the system according to the program but I am still having trouble opening files and folders including My Computer and Control Panel. I think this may be because, I've heard, hijacking software alters certain things on the computer so that you can't simply access the control panel and undo all of the trouble it has caused. The error message that I recieve every time I try to open files, folders, etc. reads:
"explorer.exe has generated errors and will be closed. You will have to restart the program. An error log is being created." The computer will occassionally freeze up after I click ok.

1. I've got to set up a Terminal Server Licensing server and was thinking about putting this on my second domain controller. I was wondering what would happen in this server dies, though. Is there some way of having resilience in this scenario? Perhaps a second Licensing server or something, the way you have 2 or more Domain Controllers?
