View 3 Replies View RelatedThis is probably something so simple you will think I am really stupid - well I'm not usually but I have the little knowledge of computers that is a famously dangerous thing. Also I have never been part of a forum like this before, so please bear with me. When I go in the start menu to programs I have so many that they won't all fit on screen and I can't move the window to view them all. Also I would like to organize them into a smaller number of folders, but I can't do that either.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThere was recently a problem with my internet connection in my community as it was out for a day. When I was able to get back online, there are all sorts of problems with my McAfee (i.e. I all of a sudden have no virus protection and I can't reinstall it). Also, when I go to add/remove programs, there is nothing there. Other programs are still installed in my computer and the only one I seem to be having a problem with is the McAfee, but I can't even view a list of programs that are installed on my computer. What could be causing this problem? and How can I get my computer back to normal? Is this some sort of virus?I've tried restoring my computer to different dates, and it hasn't seemed to change anything. I'm running Windows XP operating system.
View 1 Replies View RelatedA folder full of PSD files. I have the folder on thumbnail view so I can easily find a look I wan't and choose it instead of opening up each one. The problem is that the folder is not generating a preview of the file anymore but instead shows the PSD icon. I just got a new computer and it is since then that this has stared, as on my old computer the previews showed up fine. Is this a setting I need to change somewhere?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I open files and folders I no longer have the tasks and links to perform certain functions displayed to the far left of the file folder. Instead, now I have two panes--a panel which displays all folders, drives, etc. on the left-hand side and the individual files and folders listed on the right-hand side. What happened? I'm using Windows XP SP2.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have two burners in my system; one CD-R/W and one DVD-R/W. I usually burn everything on the DVD drive. However, after I burn something and place it back into the DVD drive to view the files, I can't. When I go to My Computer, right click on the DVD drive, I don't have the option to "OPEN". I do have this option on the CD-R/W drive but I'm wondering why I don't have that option on the DVD drive. This seems strange to me that I cannot do an OPEN on the right click with the DVD drive. any suggestions? I'm running WinXP Pro with all the updates, 2GB Ram.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOkay, attached find two pics, explorer1 and explorer2. The first is taken from the 'save as' menu from an open word document, and clearly shows the file 'OLKBB' under the temp internet files, as well as the tree structure above it. Explorer2 shows the view, only as seen from Windows Explorer, and obviously that folder (and God Alone knows what else) isn't there. I've got 'show hidden files' unticked, plus 'hide protected os system files' unticked. Still can't figure out why this is.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy XP Home SP2 computer starts and runs just fine. No normal booting problems at all but I tried to boot it into safe mode a few days ago to have a look at something. It won't do it. No matter if I try safe mode or command prompt safe mode, it won't finish the boot. It simply goes to reboot after loading the list of files. It's not a big deal now but one of these days I'm sure I'll need safe mode for something.
