Now in the last few weeks i noticed that when i open a folder which contains video files then sometimes when i click on a particular file or so i get an error
An unhandled win32 exception occurred in explorer.exe [3216]
Do you want to debug using the selected the debugger ?
Ever since I did a factory reinstall 3 months ago, every time I close my machine down and restart, my Windows Explorer settings keep getting reverted back to ICON view instead of my saved DETAIL view.I'm using the button under tools and folder options, View Tab, and Apply to all Folders. Is there something else I'm missing?
I need someone to please explain to me how to fix this problem because I just have absolutely no clue how to even start. So whenever I open a video file a small window pops up titled Windows Explorer stating that "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the Inconvenience." When I close that the window from which I opened the video file closes. However the video file stays open and I can watch it just fine. But other times it will also close the video file too.
when I try and open up certain folders that have pictures and video from my digital camera I have uploaded whenever I try and open the video files or hover over them I get an error message reading:
Application Error
The ordinal 6880 could not be located in the DLL MFC42.DLL.
After I click OK it closes any & every explorer window I have on the screen. Including the one with the video files in it.
When i play/single click some video files (Xvid) explorer crashes, while its trying to build the thumbnail. These files are not in the my documents folder and can be played through one program that i have (VideoLAN)but most programs ie win media player cant play it.
When I click on the Windows Explorer icon, it opens up with the left side being the blue bar with File and Folder Tasks, Other Places and Details showing. I have to manually click on the Folders button at the top to get the view I want. Is there a way to make this Folders view be the default view when I open Windows Explorer?
For some reason, windows explorer has started locking up when I open a folder with many video clips in it (pretty much any folder with more than 50).I have a feeling that this is a codec problem, but I've installed pretty much every codec I can find and I'm still getting the problem.
I've this weird problem. When I tried to view any videos via WMP, Real Player, Quicktime, my cpu usage will jump right to 100% and everything seems to happen in slow-mo. Even with websites playing videos using any of these. They will get my cpu usage to 100%.I've tried to d/l the latest drivers from asus for my graphic card (N7600GS) but www.driveragent.com still says that i have old version of my driver.. What can be done? I've d/led k-lite codec already.
A folder full of PSD files. I have the folder on thumbnail view so I can easily find a look I wan't and choose it instead of opening up each one. The problem is that the folder is not generating a preview of the file anymore but instead shows the PSD icon. I just got a new computer and it is since then that this has stared, as on my old computer the previews showed up fine. Is this a setting I need to change somewhere?
I cannot view video clips, they come up and I hear the sound ok, but the clip itself is all just a heap of colours, bright colours. What is lacking please?? I am on xp home, I have media player and most other pics come up ok. I have zone alarm suite 6 ..
I have XP Pro 2002 SP3 Pent4 2.66GHz 1.00GB of RAM Recently I cannot view a video or listen to music without it stopping the music to rebuffer & videos stop.System idle is at 65-70 & iexplore is at 25-30.I do not see anything else running.I do not play games.I did recently download the lastest version of itunes & have read that a number of people are having a buffering problem when listening to radio stations. And I am not able to watch a movie at hulu without it needing to stop I was able to last week.
My computer is very slow.. When changing pages it takes for ever to load a page and some times it says it is done but nothing is in the screen and I have to reload it. I have to load small instructional video clips and it will run for a second or two and says buffering.I am not sure what it is I tried to look at my Vertiual memory but I do not understand what it should be set for.
I have window XP SP2 installed on my laptop. I also use InterVideo WinDVD Creator for video editing. Recently when I try to import video file into my application, my laptop, processing percentage goes up to 98%, and the application just freezes up. I also tried the Microsoft movie maker software and I get the same result. I was wondering if I need to reinstall the application or there is something that my laptop is missing. The application was functioning fine until 2 days ago, and since then I haven't installed any other application.
Some of my video files are not working for want of Indeo Video Codec. I have been working on a video convert tool as my last application. I do not know what happened and this got corrupted. It gives pop up message for MS Encarta Video files saying "The program you are trying to run requires a current Indeo codec To obtain a current driver that is compatible with this version of Windows, please contact the manufacturer at http://indeo.ligos.com.". When I check with them, they ask me to contact OS supplier
Running Windows xp: I cannot view "most" pictures when I go to a site through Internet Explorer. For example.. if I go to myspace.com, I can't see any "friends" pictures, (not even my own) I have an account with photobucket and when I log in, all of the names of my pictures are there but not one picture is showing.. If I do a search for something, same thing. The pictures that I have saved in my computer are there..it's only when I'm using IE.
I recently downloaded software for a printer/scanner/fax machine from the internet which I know I shouldn't do but I had to! and I think I remember seeing somewhere in this forum that this could be my problem? I've already checked tools/Internet options/show pictures/ and view/encoding/Western European (which likes to jump and change itself now and then but I don't care about that right now!
If I keep any folder open for longer than like 7 seconds, explorer.exe encounters a problem and needs to close, I can usually just drag the error to the corner and keep looking at the folder for about 20 more seconds before it crashes completely, sometimes explorer shuts off with no warning while viewing a folder. I have tried the remove defective right click menu buttons thing and scanning for viruses, but it still does it, tell me if you want more info.
this past week for some reason when i'm trying to access a picture folder located on another computer's hard drive (it's networked), when in thumbnail view explorer.exe totally stops responding. it works perfectly in detailed view and other views, but with thumbnail view it doesn't function. i tried to delete a thumbs.db but there isn't one available.
It's not all the time. Usually in folders with larger amounts of photos in them. Doesn't make any sense though. I have 1.5 gigs of RAM (PC3200 at that). I can't imagine my pc can't keep up with populating some thumbnails. Can anyone point me to some literature on this?
I like my explorer in the "classic style" with the Folders bar down the side and all files listed in "detail", but since the last couple of automatic Windows updates, it no longer starts up with the Folders bar, which I have to manually click every time, and shows all files in icon by default. Until today, if I click on View Detail, Windows remembered this for that particular folder, and over time all of my regularly visited folders would start up in detail, so the manual configuration was only minimal. Today, however, all files in all folder are back to icons as default, and Windows no longer remembers the detail setting when I revisit folders.
My preferred view of Windows Explorer is a window with details listed and the folder tree on the left side of the screen. I recently purchased a new Emachine and cannot change my default view so the folder tree is present when I open Windows Explorer. When I click on ''tools-folder options'' and select ''apply to all folders'', the desired change does not take place. I noticed that the ''apply'' button does not activate when I click to make this change.
Recently, i've been trying to sort a large amount of music files by bitrate, artist, album etc. when i select a file i have some difficulty following the line because there are so many similar files around it. I've tried folder options but nothing there can help me.i'd like to see if i can do something to to highlight the whole line instead of just the name when i click it.i made that little vision of i what i wanted it to be like in paint.
i'm runnin XP SP2 and IE7. the problem i'm having is that ever since i moved i have been unable to view sites in Internet Explorer because I keep getting Apache Server at go.microsoft.com Port 8100. I have tried to reset the settings in Internet Options to manufacturers spec but that yielded no results. I can use internet explorer fine on the guest account, however it is indeed..a guest account. The issue isn't such a big deal since i use Firefox anyway, but it is annoying when i rip a CD to my computer and am forbidden to access CDDA for covers, song titles and such.
I've been using XP SP2 and have never had a problem with thumbnail view in windows explorer - I turn it on, it shows me pretty thumbnails of any images, movies, etc in the folder. A few days ago, I noticed that it had suddenly stopped working for image files - video and html files still get a preview, but not images. It stopped working about the time when I installed an old version of Photoshop (7.0.1, the only one I had laying about for a quick job I needed it for...), and my efforts on Google seem to imply that it may be the culprit
I cannot access files in a certain folder or view them. I accidently moved them to another folder then moved them back. Ever since then i cant do anything with them. Please help. Got some good pictures and mpegs i'd like to view.
I have been trying to format some floppies given to me to no avail and now, I cannot view files on MY FLOPPIES. I have done a scan on floppy (A) but an error message appears. I have attched messages in order to see if anyone can help.
I have always enjoyed labeling and organizing my files, But as of a little while back i am not able to organize my mp3s or any type of file for that matter in a proper fashion because the options of the author the title and everything else you are allowed to label are not present. I used too use this to organize all my music and video files in a folder but now none of these options appear for me. When i click properties and heat to summary for any file It never gives me the options for these files there just not there. So when i try to organize lets say the folder by Artist or Album title or year or track number i cant because there is no category for it.
I simply can't "Show hidden files and folders" on my WinXP Pro SP2. I've tried everything (group policies, Kaspersky 7, AVG Anti Spyware and monitoring changes to the Registry real time), however, when I click on that tick mark button, the explorer window refreshes once or twice and nothing happens.
