Tool Bar With File Edit View Favorites Gone
Mar 23, 2009So I allowed MS to do the hotfix and upade thing, it installed IE7 in one of the updates, so now the tool bar with File Edit View Favorites and all the other stuff is gone, anybody know how to get it back,I opened my file explorer and checked if I still had a favorites folder under my user name and I did, so I made a copy of it, when I opened my IE next time the toolbar was the MSN tool bar, am I going to have to stop this again?

Aug 3, 2007I recently had to do a system restore and now my .jpg and jpeg files have a bad file icon. They still do open with the windows pic program as I want them to - but only on the admin accout, I usually surf and play and do everything else with a user account, and even if I reset everything under folder options for the file associacions it somehow doesn't apply to the other account.
windows tells me in the file association menu that I changed the file association's properties and can set them back to standart "photo suite 6" - a program that I uninstalled ages ago

Jun 1, 2008Running Windows xp: I cannot view "most" pictures when I go to a site through Internet Explorer. For example.. if I go to myspace.com, I can't see any "friends" pictures, (not even my own) I have an account with photobucket and when I log in, all of the names of my pictures are there but not one picture is showing.. If I do a search for something, same thing. The pictures that I have saved in my computer are there..it's only when I'm using IE.
I recently downloaded software for a printer/scanner/fax machine from the internet which I know I shouldn't do but I had to! and I think I remember seeing somewhere in this forum that this could be my problem? I've already checked tools/Internet options/show pictures/ and view/encoding/Western European (which likes to jump and change itself now and then but I don't care about that right now!
SP2 And IE7 - Unable To View Sites In Internet Explorer
Jan 28, 2008i'm runnin XP SP2 and IE7. the problem i'm having is that ever since i moved i have been unable to view sites in Internet Explorer because I keep getting Apache Server at go.microsoft.com Port 8100. I have tried to reset the settings in Internet Options to manufacturers spec but that yielded no results. I can use internet explorer fine on the guest account, however it is indeed..a guest account. The issue isn't such a big deal since i use Firefox anyway, but it is annoying when i rip a CD to my computer and am forbidden to access CDDA for covers, song titles and such.

May 17, 2007It all happened 2 days ago on my Compaq Presario R3000 laptop when I decided to uninstall the newest version of Internet Explorer 7. Because I didn't like Internet Explorer and all the stuff I heard about it containing some bugs, I decided to uninstall it.So I went through Start -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs and searched for Internet Explorer 7. I clicked on the one that only said "Internet Explorer 7" and it took me to this uninstalling phase.
It then warned me that most programs would "freak out" if I have done so by uninstalling Internet Explorer 7. So I decided to ignore it and take the risk, a risk that I was going to pay very soon.It took a few minutes of deleting the files and stuff, then I had to reboot, upon logging on to my account this error message pops up stating: "This application has failed to start because iertutil.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."
File Icons Missing In Explorer
Jul 25, 2005I'm running XP Home on a Dell 2.6ghz Dimension 8300 with Norton Systemworks 2005. A couple months ago I noticed that when in Windows Explorer viewing files, the icons that used to be pictures are now a generic icon. If I change view to Filmstrip or tiles, some of them show, but not most. In Icon, List, or Details none of them show.

Obviously, it has something to do with IE security settings.
